The cocktails? Amazing. Truly stunning. The service? Pitch perfect. The atmosphere? Chic while still being comfortable. Know you might have to stand a short while. The spot is small, they have 3-4 standing tables where they have you stand until there's an available table. We probably stood a total of 4-5 minutes on a Saturday night in April. When you want to get drunk, but you also need your drink to look electric blue and taste like raspberry, you come here. I'm not the biggest fan of sweet drinks in general, and especially not sweet alcohol. But I wasn't about to pass up an opportunity to taste some of Old Forge Distillery's moonshine and gin. They also make vodka, whiskey and rum. The gin was good! It doesn't taste like traditional gin, because they age it in bourbon barrels, so it has a little bit of a caramel taste to it. (In my opinion.) The moonshine and the cream liqueurs are where you will find the crazy flavors. I think my favorite was the coffee moonshine, which tastes like a wonderfully spiked black coffee. Samples are plentiful. The bartender told us which ones were crowd favorites, and also recommended some that I would not have picked myself. They also have a huge gift shop with lots of tchotchkes, plus bottles of their goods to take home with you.

We were lucky enough to walk in, pay for our sampling, and go right to the table. The staff member pouring our samples was an absolute riot, he had everyone laughing and in great spirits. We sampled 14 varieties of Moonshine and one specialty vodka sample. Everything was tasty, the pickle one was a bit weird, but still pretty good. Your sampling wristband earns you a $5 discount off merchandise purchases but not everything in the store. The wristbands are stackable, with no limit, so if you have people in your group who don't want to buy anything be sure to ask them for their wristbands to help discount purchased for others who are purchasing something at the store. They also provide additional discounting on top of the wristband discount to Military/Veterans. The store is organized, clean, has a lot of great merchandise, varieties of Moonshine, and other adult beverages. They also have a cocktail bar and a small stage where live music is scheduled throughout the day. We purchased 3 different types of Moonshine - a Cherry Limeade, a Chocolate Coffee Cream Liqueur, and the Banana Pudding. All three are delicious and I would definitely buy them again next go-around. All-in-all, it's a great spot to have a little fun at an affordable cost while visiting Gatlinburg, TN. I recommend them if you are shopping in the area.
