5 stars because it was the first Bar my older brother would sneak me into when I was under age twenty something years ago. It is still the best dive bar in Northgate to this day. Albeit a little bit fancier then in my hey day. Duddley's Draw is why I spend more time in Dive Bars than "Clubs". Duddley's Draw was and still is the "everyday guy" college bar. It is not the place for Frat Daddies or Mommas. It is where real people go to chill with real people in the BCS. It was an oasis for many during my time in AggieLand. Getting a Chugger is synonymous in my membrane when I think of Duddly's. Dudd's is now a full-bar which is pretty cool. Gotta say I do miss the nostalgia of being able to bring a bottle to drink with friends, but it is nice to have that option. Their bar-keeps are always cool. French Dip sandwich was always a favorite of mine back in the day, but haven't had one in years. If you are looking for the Dive Bar of Northgate look no further.

I've never seen cowboys, bikers, grad students, professors, research scientists, government officials, hippies, geeks, freaks, hicks, pricks, frat daddies, sorority bitches, Joe T. Normal and Jane Q. Doe go to one place and get along so well. You can be anybody you want to be and fit into this bar just fine. Except for Ed Holcomb! If you dress really nice you will stand out... but still fit in. Great food, nothing fried, unique selection. Slot Pool, Video, Darts, Plasma TVs, Cold Beer, bottle, on-tap cheap. Full liquor bar as well. Sit on the Front Porch and watch the world pass you by. Longest continuously open establishment in the Brazos Valley, power outages, bad weather and holidays, this place has opened every day since August 25th, 1977. Gig 'em Aggies! Whoop!

    Classy place......

Nice patio. With fans and TVs. Important early in the football season. Decent burger. Wish they had fries with that.

It's your typical college dive. Awesome if your in college or went to college here. Otherwise... Dinghy with good beer on tap.

Best place in town to grab a few pitchers and sit out in the porch. Great bartenders and relaxing atmosphere. Great for game days.

All of the bars on northgate are usually full of underage kids and this one is an exception.

We had been drinking beer, so I stuck to beer except for an old fashioned (which was excellent and used Buffalo Trace). They also have an awesome selection of draft beers. I had a Live Oak Hefeweizen which was excellent. Service was excellent both at the restaurant and the attached pizza area. Since we had been drinking a while, we decided to have pizza at the shop attached to the bar. They have a nice pizza oven and this was excellent. I forget the name, but it has a nice thin crust with great cheese and topped with sausage and mushrooms. It really hit the spot Definitely worth a visit, distinct from many of the other bars around.

I'm not often as impressed as I am by Rough Draught. Awesome, awesome selection. Good people who enjoy talking whiskey. The interior and decoration and walls - it all just GOES. It's perfect. Sadly they were out of a key ingredient or two to make pizza when we were there - during Thanksgiving week, so... not "normal" timing - so we sadly could not try their pizza. But we enjoyed multiple great pours, some good cocktails, great conversation, and exploring all of the details in the decor. A staple for any visit I'll be making to College Station and Aggieland.

Today, ate at Chicken Oil Company. They were amazing growing up! Wow how they went downhill!…read more Koppe Bridge is what Chicken Oil use to be. You place your order, they make your burger and it goes from the grill to the bun. Nice and greasy like it should be. Chicken Oil has become so packed you can't move. The burgers have become an assembly line. They cook 10-20 and toss them in a pan where they sit until it's moved down the line. Dry & cold. Koppe Bridge has a wonderful atmosphere. Old school country music playing. Creaky wooden floors. The one thing I CAN give the edge to Chicken Oil is the friendly and helpful staff! Because honestly..I've eaten at Koppe numerous times and literally every single time, the girls in the front are essentially snotty Sorority-type girls. Always different girls but always the same type. (Rude, eye rolls, zero friendly customer service). Maybe they need to hire staff based on personality and not how cute they are.

I've had their burgers so many times that it should be rated on Texas Monthly. They are great. This time I changed it up and went with the chicken friend steak sandwich basket. The parking seems small, but just circle around. Whatever side you come on, go to the "back" and you'll find room. When you come in go straight to the cash registers and place your order/state your name. Grab your drinks and find a seat. Pay attention because when the guy screams your name into the cheap-axst speaker system, you might loose it. Consider it an audiology exam. If you come in with a parent that was on Peanuts, they will understand the PA perfectly. Everyone else takes their chances. With the basket you get a PILE of bar fries. They are great and there's a mountain of them. This alone should lure you in. I went with the chicket fried steak sandwich. Very tasty, but for some reason I thought it would come with gravy. Nope. If that changes your impression of a chicken fried steak, you may want to pass. I just covered it in ketchup and enjoyed the change up. Pro-Tip: Don't even try to come here on game days.
