After dinner, went down to Duddley's Draw to enjoy some drinks with friends. This is a true college bar and enjoyed being there on Halloween weekend with all the costumes. The best thing about this bar was the college bar pricing! One of the friends went to school at A&M and was glad to see this bar still around with the same atmosphere. read more

5 stars because it was the first Bar my older brother would sneak me into when I was under age twenty something years ago. It is still the best dive bar in Northgate to this day. Albeit a little bit fancier then in my hey day. Duddley's Draw is why I spend more time in Dive Bars than "Clubs". Duddley's Draw was and still is the "everyday guy" college bar. It is not the place for Frat Daddies or Mommas. It is where real people go to chill with real people in the BCS. It was an oasis for many during my time in AggieLand. Getting a Chugger is synonymous in my membrane when I think of Duddly's. Dudd's is now a full-bar which is pretty cool. Gotta say I do miss the nostalgia of being able to bring a bottle to drink with friends, but it is nice to have that option. Their bar-keeps are always cool. French Dip sandwich was always a favorite of mine back in the day, but haven't had one in years. If you are looking for the Dive Bar of Northgate look no further. read more

Looks like the exact same bar: Country dingy, taxidermy, cowpeople, and tables that have been obssesively carved into. SERIOUSLY, all the tables at both of these bars have some serious carving action going on.. I think Aggies might take out their frustrations on these tables. Yelp must not be popular for the B/CS locals. I also can't believe not many reviews for Duddley's. I lived at Duddley's Draw. Since it was right across campus, it was perfect to avoid that nasty thing known as DUI. Duddley's was for the crowd that couldn't stomach the nearby Dixie Chicken and its atmposphere. I met many non-traditional Aggies at Duddley's and had so many great times here. I was introduced to Shiner Bock here and wonder if they still sell $3 pitchers. That is one of my fave memories of Duddley's. Friends buying pitcher after pitcher and just shooting the sh*t. I lost count how many rings were dunked here. I'm sure it is quite different now. I graduated from A&M in the 90's. My friends and I lived at Duddley's. Cheap pitchers of Shiner Bock and good affordable sandwiches. The back pool tables were our home away from home since student housing was so depressing. During my four years, Duddley's stood out for being the place where anyone could hang out. Best local bar. This is the kind of bar where the people who work the bar remember you, and they're always cool. Service is always good, the people who work the bar are friendly and know their beers. The group that I go out with has made this our regular weekly spot because we love the atmosphere, it is the most welcoming bar in town and attracts a very non-traditional crowd by Northgate standards. The space is especially great in the summer, a nice cool place to come in and get out of the heat. Also a good place to watch games, plenty of places to sit and TVs everywhere. Love this place, it's a real down to earth spot that always feels comfortable. And their sandwiches are good. read more

Their saving grace is the wide assortment of bar games and the decent drink prices. If Northgate has a Cheers, this might be it. Was once kind of sort of a rival to the Chicken...where folks who didn't feel quite comfortable at the Chicken would come. Very diverse crowd where all got along. Would see professors taking students for beers, and vice versa. The place is dark and comfy, the vibe is nice, staff are friendly. I don't know about the food and couldn't care less. You are here for the vibe. A real stalwart that has survived the (both good and bad) changes to Northgate. read more

I've been comin' here (and it's the ONLY bar I go to in CS) for more than 3 years, now. I got kicked out of there tonight. Not a solitary clue why that might have happened. I don't rub folks' feathers the wrong way. I don't stagger. I don't growl, spit or snarl. The food's not too bad; the (beer) selection is wonderful. The staff is pretty cool. My Favorite Dive Bar in CS. I love it here! Ice cold mugs of beer. Tons of quirky decorations to keep you interested dating all they way back to my Dads days in College. It is what it is. If you don't like dives then you won't like this place. Normally hang out on the O'bannon's/Paddock side of Northgate but come down to Duds when I feel the urge for some pool or darts. Nothing special about the place but a great place to escape the crowds, drink a chugger and shoot some pool. Wish they wouldn't blare Tool and Deftones at times. Have to admit this has only happened once or twice but still...that's once or twice too many. Nothing against those bands I just don't want to have to explain to my kids that I went deaf to Tool. read more
