They gave me a 12 to 4 scheduled day and the day before they called and changed the scheduled time to 10 to 2 even though I had cleared my schedule for that day I accepted the new schedule. I've used Duct Dudes before and have never had an issue, they even gave me a military discount for the work. This time was different. Two weeks ago we had an appointment for the dryer vent to be cleaned out. It's an annual requirement for the condo management. The guys arrived and started working. We needed to have the vent replaced outside of the house because the flap was broken and we needed to replace it to prevent birds and critters from setting up a new home. The guys finished up putting the new flap with a cage around it. Then they came inside the house and all they brought was a small handheld shop vac. I thought it was strange because of what they've used previously. Within 5 minutes the man said they were done. I never heard the dryer get moved, get disconnected, or reconnected. I asked if he was sure they were done and he assured me that they were. A day after, my dryer lost heating and clothes were wet after running the normal dry cycle. We scheduled service and they arrived today to see the issue. Apparently there was so much lint in the door next to the vent tubing that it prompted the sensor to trip and not allow heat. Safety feature to prevent fires. The tech stated that is something they should have done during the cleaning and I was fortunate LG had that capability. I will not use Duct Dudes again. $250 + $40 for the outside work was not worth this hassle of not being able to dry uniforms, clothes, and bedding for two weeks. read more

I was not happy with my experience with Duct Dudes. They came to my house for an air duct cleaning and within the first 15 minutes, my stairs and hard wood floors were dented. Even after I mentioned to lift the materials and tools going up and down my stairs, the young man continued dragging it all and not stopping. Today, Sam and Ismwel showed up today and reiterated the process they were going to go through, which made me feel confident i made a good decision, and they got to work. As they were cleaning my system, Sam and i got to talking about how i have some rooms that are much warmer than others and how to get better air flow to them. He noticed that my duct pipes were not run properly and made some great recommendations on how to make it better which i know will work. We immediately noticed a big decrease in the amount of dust collecting on the shiny black surfaces throughout our house. My wife is "Mrs. Clean" and before the cleaning she could literally dust several times every day. Since the cleaning, she only needs to dust during her regular clearing. PUT OUR KIDS IN DANGER!! I really wanted to like this company as their ownership was responsive, but I cannot in good conscious recommend them after the negligence they displayed, which endangered my kids. We have a large play area in our basement with mats and a ball pit, etc. Some of the ducts that needed to be cleaned were above that play area. Apparently, in order to clean the ducts, Duct Dudes needed to cut holes in those ducts. Not only did they not tell me they needed to cut into my vents and ask permission, but also they did not put drop cloths down or ask me to move any materials I could. Their cuts send hundreds - literally hundreds - of razor sharp metal pieces (see picture of sample pieces) all over my kids play area. These people knew it was a place where kids play. It's obvious. And they knowingly created a very dangerous condition and left the job site with no attempt to clean up their incredible mess or even tell me. My son is a year old and crawls around. He could easily have gotten dozens of these shards in his feet or hands or god forbid swallowed them. Many were as small as a finger nail but still very sharp. I cannot fathom what kind of people knowingly endanger children. When I called the company, the owner came right out with a giant magnet and apologized, but when we told them he needed to better hire and train his people, he seemed totally unresponsive to the feedback. He just shrugged and said they do this all the time! What?!?Management of your team is critical. Hiring responsible people is critical. Not endangering children is baseline. You may have picked up our call, but the negligence and acceptance of negligence is just ridiculous. Find someone else!! read more

Called last week for an appointment. They gave us a 3 hour window (2-5 pm) for when they would be here. They never showed. No phone calls from them regarding running late. Tried to call the office, but they close at 5:00 pm, so no answer. I left a voicemail telling them that I'll be finding someone else to do the work. My husband researched companies that cleaned dryer vents and chose Duct Dudes because of the reviews. What a great choice! Charles, the Service Manager, showed up to my door 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment window. He shook my hand and greeted me by name. He explained the entire process thoroughly. The entire procedure took less than 20 minutes (including clean up of the lint from the outside vent). Tom, the owner, came in to do an inspection and give estimate for the cleaning of the house's air ducts. He was also courteous, greeted me by name, and was thorough in his explanation of what needed to be done. I have never felt this comfortable with a company providing a service in my home. Their prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, effective service was a breath of fresh air. Their customer service is refreshing! I guess I'm a little old fashioned because I love when companies remember and call me by my name. I had been quoted by 3 different businesses and found Duct Dudes to offer the best price for its services. The technicians thoroughly explained the cleaning process and took before and after pictures. They even cleaned out dryer vent. What a difference. My house smelled better instantly and my central air conditioning seems to be running more efficiently. The whole cleaning process took about 2.5 hours and the technicians were friendly. very unprofessionally run company. i can't believe i wasted my time on these guys. based on decent reviews online, i called for an estimate and appointment for my air duct cleaning on 5/14 and the lady, Mia, was very friendly and kind to explain everything and gave me a quote. i asked for a first time discount and she said she had to check with her manager to call me back. she called me back and said no more discount is offered except $25 but will clean the dryer vent for free so i said ok. and we scheduled the service for 5/19. the price they quote me was $500 for 1 a/c unit in 3000 sq. ft single house., which is pretty avg. for this area from my research. the day before the service appointment, i got a voice message left by this guy, john, in very rude tone saying because my area is out of their service area and for the size of our house, they need to charge me $150 more. he didn't say a word of "sorry" and made it sound like they don't want to do the job at the quote they gave me and confirmed already. i didn't even bother to call back and they never showed up for the service appointment on 5/19. I have an email confirmation with the time of appointment and the price quote they promised me. they wasted my time and trust for all the good reviews they have online. they are obviously not Nj's #1 air duct cleaners as they claim and not conducting a good business manner by wasting people's time for changing the price around at the last minute and doesn't even follow up or say sorry for their administrative mistake. read more

They went through all of the supplies and returns with their tools, allowing them to cover the ductwork from end to end. I cannot say enough about how beyond-happy we are with this service, and wouldn't hesitate for a moment to refer anyone who even considers having their ductwork cleaned to use the Duct Dudes! Our two-story home is 42 years old and is in relatively good condition. We have a combination of flooring finishes consisting of hardwood, tile, and wall-to-wall carpeting. Our only pet is a cockapoo who barely sheds. We all have some seasonal as will as indoor allergies. I feel I keep our home relatively clean and as dust-free as possible. That said.... When I'd start dusting, by the time I'd finished the house, I could've started all over again within a few hours. I honestly thought that it might've been the products I'd been using or one of the many different cloths I'd tried in search of what I'd felt I MUST'VE been doing wrong. But, no matter what I'd tried, I couldn't keep the dust from returning practically immediately. On top of that, and most importantly, I felt our health was being affected. I believe that battling allergies can keep one's resistance compromised. Although we are a rather healthy family, cold and flu season was a bit of a struggle. Besides, waking up every morning stuffy-nosed and heavy-headed feels just awful!! I finally insisted that we look for a reputable company to come clean our ductwork. This was precipitated by our youngest son coming home from college and suffering for the last year during each visit with severe allergy symptoms; itchy, stuffy, runny nose and itchy eyes. He actually thought that maybe it was the fabric softener I'd always used (but that wasn't it). His being horribly uncomfortable was the final straw. We began an extensive search online. We did A LOT of research on what process is entailed in cleaning the ducts, viewed many YouTube videos, what scams to avoid, and why, when something seems too good ("inexpensive") to be true, it almost always is. Reading as many customer reviews as possible lead us to the Duct Dudes. --We had our ductwork cleaned 13 days ago. I would've written this review that very evening if I felt it would've been believable. The main reason I waited this long was to see how my son felt after a few days of being home for winter break. Last night, I sat with him and asked how his allergies were. (I had noticed a complete improvement in him!) He said he felt perfectly fine (which was exactly how we'd all been feeling)! PLUS, I have only maybe sort-of had to barely lightly dust my house in almost 2 weeks!! Hindsight being 20/20, we all wish we had called the Duct Dudes years ago. They showed us how the original owners (over 20 years ago) had had someone come in and cut holes in the ducts in the basement to do some sort of cleaning. They probably didn't have the ability to do what was just done for us. They arrived exactly at the scheduled appointment time, used covers for their shoes while in our home, attached a hose from our main ventilation system to their truck, which had 8 huge vacuum bags and a VERY powerful suction system, were professional, polite, informative, cleaned each intake/output vent (we have approx. 30), and showed us photos we asked for using our own cell phones inside some of the vents allowing us to see MUCH more dust than we'd ever care to remember. We have zero regrets other than having not done this years ago. We will NEVER wait so long again to have this done. How foolish we'd been! What's more important than our health?!? So,...... Obviously, I HIGHLY recommend Duct Dudes (and have told many of our friends and family about our experience).
