If you are looking for a quality hookah experience, Dubai Hookah Lounge is THE place to be. With the recent craze over hookah, there seems to always be a lounge in a neighborhood near you. Because of this recent spike in popularity much of the staff at these places lack the skill to prepare your hookah well, not the case for Dubai Hookah. (I recommend the double apple hookah flavor) Although it may seem simple there is an art in how it's prepared that goes far beyond packing it with the flavored tobacco of your liking. Being a hookah smoker for over 20 years, I have had the privilege of enjoying this relaxing experience many times in many parts of the world including the Middle East. How a hookah is maintained, the type of charcoal and how it's heated, to the quality of the tobacco used are only a few examples impacting the quality. Many newcomers to the experience can't distinguish the difference because they have minimal examples to compare it to. At Dubai hookah you can smoke the same pipe for long periods of time without tasting the burn of the charcoal. The flavor and smoothness you order almost seems to last indefinitely which speaks to their awesome preparation. In addition to the great hookah experience, the service is top notch, family owned business that takes pride in their work. They regularly check on you and do what's necessary to ensure you enjoy your time. They have great drinks, including fresh juices (I recommend the fresh mango) and quality teas. The arabesque decor and music also create a wonderful cultural experience.

Awesome place! This hookah lounge is more mature and has a true Arabic feeling to it. There is no hip hop here our ratchetry going on. It has business people, couples, people playing cards etc enjoying a nice hookah. The hookah is very high quality and lasts for a long time. They also provide authentic real charcoal and place new ones at no cost. Great value here! I ordered a mint tea as well. I thought it would be steeped in mint leaves but they just bring you regular tea and some mint leaves. You are supposed to just throw the mint in there. I felt that was a bit deceptive but I will let it slide. The service is good as well. The only downside is that there is no alcohol

Dubai has a very nice vibe, couch seating along the walls a few tables in the middle. Excellent Hookah's i got the Ice Mint flavor very smoke and nice to smoke. Also for the Mango smoothie very good, they also over a variety of teas, coffee, beer (even non alcohol beer), abs wine. Went around 4 only a few people here nice and chill. They stay open in 4 am if you need a late nice fix. I'll definitely be back. Wifi is very good.

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind there was a total of 7 other patrons in the Building during my visit. It's sad to say that this establishment falls in line with the rest of the Black owned establishments in Charlotte with poor customer service. My visit started off ok with the customer service and then it went nonexistent. Let's start with the "Cockotail" menu. Yes, the word cocktail is incorrectly spelled on the menu --and this was not intentional. PLEASE RUN THE SPELL CHECK AND UPDATE THIS PLEASE!! It's embarrassing ! I came here on a Friday night during the finals, and I ordered drinks and hookah. There was an issue with our hookah not pulling, so we asked the bartender if they could look into it. Five to ten minutes go by, no one comes by to assist. The wait time would've been acceptable if there were a lot of people in the place, but it wasn't. I went back to the bar and had to remind the bartender to please check on the hookah. They finally came over and then returned the hookah about another 10 minutes later and the hookah issue was resolved. My guest ordered one drink and it came out in a decent amount of time. We ordered a second drink and we were told that they would bring it right out. We literally watched the bartender with the curly hair sitting down to talk with another patron and she NEVER brought the drink. At that point, we were irritated because I'm not going to keep on reminding someone to do their job, especially when it is slow. I am so appreciative that a man paid for our bill because I was most certainly going to have a conversation with the manager due to the lack of customer service. If the service was this poor on a slow night, don't bother wasting your time going in when place is packed. I'm not sure if this place is new, but they have some kinks to work out because it makes NO SENSE as to why you are paying for customer service that you cannot get. It is so irritating that you can't go anywhere these days and not have some type of issue when you go out. The purpose of going out is to relax and have a good time, not to be irritated your entire visit. I could've stayed home and saved money. Unfortunately, returning here is not on the top of my priority list. My best advice is to stand at the bar and watch them make your drink or bring your hookah so you can guarantee that you get your items in a timely manner.

We arrived at 10 p.m., and I was gone by 11:30 p.m. In that time, we only got hookah. The drinks never came. The booth size was absurd, so other customers kept asking if they could take a seat because there was nowhere else to sit. I'm sure not every group payed for a booth because everyone in there was sitting down. By about 11 p.m., the scene was still dead, and the vibe was non-existent. I spoke to a hookah girl and asked for a refund because this place was just not worth it. They had to call the manager and he said I wouldn't be charged, and free to go. I waited to write this post to see what the outcome would be because I ended up being charged and ended up having to file a complaint with my bank. I had no receipts, and the manager stopped responding after he agreed to meet me to fix the matter. I was scammed $300 by this place, and it wasn't worth the headache. Drinks were nonexistent, and the service was slow. Experience Trash.

When the check arrived, the discount was only about $2 and change off a $13.99 order. I also gotta give shoutouts to my girls Maddie & Stella & Katie for always taking care of me and finding ways to turn my frowns upside down! I have enjoyed the different styles and breweries they have recently been bringing into the mix (I thought I had died and gone to beer heaven when I saw they had 6 yes SIX 3 Floyds beers on tap & in cans!), but have noticed they haven't been adding as many local NC beers like they used to, which makes it hard for a regular, such as myself, on her 17th plate to come in for $5 NC Drafts on Sundays. I appreciate the new daily specials on Fridays/Saturdays and showing more appreciation for BeerKnurds that have been added (notably 1/2 lunch for BKs on Tues from 11am-3pm), but REALLY REALLY wish they would do more stuff (as in ANYTHING) for MOUs (BKs w/5+ plates). It's seat-yourself, so we had to pull a couple tables together to fit everyone. One thing to note: it was very warm inside, so I'd recommend sitting toward the back where it's more comfortable. My boys really enjoy this place, so I wanted to like it more, but the food was just okay and a bit pricey for what you get. Most items run about $14.99-$21.99, even appetizers are at entrée prices. I ordered the Carne Asada Fries appetizer ($15.99) after hearing they were "fire." The steak had good flavor, but the portion was light--fine for sharing, but not very filling. One entree, Big Dipper ($15.49), a roast beef seemed overcooked and there wasn't much meat on a large bun. Two people from the table ordered pizza. Neither ate more than 2 pieces. On the positive side, the beer selection is excellent, with plenty of options on tap and in bottles and cans--from Guinness to local IPAs. The atmosphere is also unique: plates cover the walls and ceiling from guests who've completed their beer challenge, which makes for a fun, quirky vibe you really have to see in person. Dart boards for those who want to be a bit more active. Overall, it's a great spot for beer and atmosphere, but the food and pricing didn't quite match the experience for me.
