Had an excellent experience today with Brandy, she was such a breath of fresh air, highly recommend her store.

This wasn't the shopping experience we were anticipating. Upon walking in, the store is large and well organized; however, the merchandise selection was less than desirable. Many of the shoes felt outdated and didn't align with the styles we typically enjoy purchasing. We were visiting the area and planned a full shopping day. We generally love DSW, but this particular location seems to offer a lower-quality or less trend-aware selection, perhaps the buyers for this store aren't keeping up with current fashion trends. The store was also fairly empty, which stood out, especially since it's located in a busy shopping center where other stores were bustling with customers. Another difference we noticed was that most of the staff were gathered near the registers. At other DSW locations, we usually see associates walking the floor and actively assisting customers. Overall, it was an okay visit, but not one that met our usual expectations for DSW. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse. I am usually not the type of person to write a review unless it is for an exceptional experience or a truly negative one, but this visit stood out for the wrong reasons. I was in the store from 7:00 to 7:50 PM carefully deciding between a pair of Clarks and Dr. Scholl's shoes. A kind associate helped direct me to the loafer section, and after taking a quick trip outside to use the restroom since the store does not have one, I returned right at 8:00 PM knowing exactly which pair I wanted to purchase. Instead of being assisted, I was immediately met by a middle aged man who repeatedly told me the store was closed, even after I explained I just needed to quickly grab the one pair of Clarks shoes in size 7.5 that I had already selected and was ready to purchase. He refused to help me retrieve them or allow me a quick checkout, despite the fact that I had been shopping there minutes before closing and was prepared to pay. This felt extremely dismissive and like a complete lack of basic customer service. I understand store hours, but refusing a quick, ready to pay customer, especially one who had already spent time shopping, is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider returning to this location. read more

Best to wear running shoes in the parking lot. Seriously people slow down! Parking here as you can imagine, is an exercise of frustration. The store itself is decent, but I'd argue it's not spectacular. Their prices aren't as competitive, as they used to be. Yes inflation is part of it, but I do better online. Do I recommend this store? Yes. If you are unsure of your size, employees can help you. The folks who work here are solid. DSW definitely hires well. Very good customer service. This store has a large selection too. Occasionally they have deals on dress shoes, and I believe they have a rewards program for frequent customers. read more

I walked in to this DSW to get a set of socks. I like their sock selection! I walked to the front, saw the line at the checkout, and turned around to put my socks back. They had two cashiers on a Sunday afternoon. One was on the phone while a frustrated-looking customer waited, leaving just one. I appreciate businesses that adjust to the situation at hand. In this case, another cashier or two would have been nice to see. The whole shopping center was busy. I find it hard to believe a busy Sunday afternoon came as a surprise. read more

This place is a cluttered mess! Small space with too much crap. Several employees but not one spoke. Too busy piling shelves with more crap or helping others. Why not clean the mess you already have before adding to it? Definitely don't need to come back here, not my local DSW, was just conveniently in the area. read more

Located nextdoor to Staples. This DSW location is similar in space compared to other DSW stores. The only thing with this DSW was the clearance shoe options. Maybe, i should come earlier in the day, but i have came here multiple times and i can never find a shoe in my size and a style that i like. I really like other DSW in other locations because they have variety, but this particular one i think my shoe size and my preference in style is being taken earlier in the day. Just like that saying early bird gets the worm. I will give me them other chances since they are close to home. read more

I recently found the perfect pair of shoes for my child here, but the only box they had left in the correct size was an obvious return. It was torn and taped back together, and the shoes inside were slightly smelly and dirty on the bottom. After waiting in line for some 15 minutes, the cashier refused to discount the shoes under the pretext that "we don't mark them up." I had to choose between paying full retail for a used set of shoes or having a meltdown on my hands. I chose the lesser of the two evils and took it in the wallet. read more

2 stars because of the variety and parking out front. Loses 3 stars because of the horribly rude service. I take my shoes to the register and the sales associate that was ringing me up kept asking for my email or phone number. the more I refused the more attitude she was giving me. Finally she said she could give me 30% off my total purchase. So then I have her my email and the she goes yea these shoes don't apple for the 30% discount. I then asked her to then take my email out from her system. She then finishes ringing me up and then places my receipt in the shoe box abruptly and pushes the shoe box my way. all of this occurs with no eye contact. I then request a bag and she abruptly puts my shoes in a bag, shoves the bag in my direction and that's it. No eye contact or nothing but I was detecting major attitude from her facial expression and body language. This is store has very bad management. I bought a shoes and wear it just once outside and it was very uncomfortable at all. I took it to the store with the receipt and they refused to give me a credit . So I have to through away $65 . read more

I love this location. They have always been so clean and the employees here are super helpful when wanting to purchase a pair of shoes... ok a few pairs of shoes! DSW itself has a awesome rewards program you can sign up for and it's free. They give coupons regularly as well as on your birthday. My most recent experience here during Covid has been wonderful. I ventured in the store and saw they were well taken care of with COVID protocol as well as having everyone socially distance and provide masks at the front of the store if you need be. I really enjoy grabbing a pair of shoes here or having to make a return with the peace of mind knowing they are doing a great job, especially in COVID. read more

Smaller selection than the Pentagon City location by far. Their selection of men's dress shoes is pretty pathetic and their selection of men's dress boots is nearly non-existent. They're out of stock of most common sizes for the few shoes they do have have in stock. Parking here is annoying as a good amount of the parking lot is closed for construction. I usually never come here because I live next to the Fairlakes DSW where they have a bigger selection but I do stop by when I'm in the area. This one is pretty good, always clean and usually stocked. The service is great and they are always willing to help you find a shoe from the internet or another store. read more

I realized I needed white sneakers for work and immediately thought about my old reliable DSW. New to the neighborhood, I had to figure out which location was closest, and luckily read some great reviews about this location. The setup is a bit tight but there are lots of shoes (no surprise) and more shoes. The clearance area was not that impressive, but the rows and rows of new selections were distracting enough. It seemed dimly lit and had club music playing which is quite different than the DSW's I am used to in Colorado, but hey! I can adjust. Great bargains! Great shoes! I have visited this DSW many times. My review isn't necessarily about the shoes because this particular DSW does not have a huge selection. It's closest to me so I stop by and every once in a while, I find a pair of shoes I like. However, my last two visits were quite pleasant. About 2 weeks ago, I purchased shoes from the DSW in Bethesda. It wasn't until I arrived home that I realized the shoe had a nasty scuff. I KNEW this DSW would not have this shoe. But I didn't want to drive back to Bethesda. So I stopped by and a young woman by the name of Michelle helped me. I believe she may be the manager. Although, I did not ask. She was soooooo very helpful. She ordered the shoe online for me and had it shipped to my home. I was also looking for a nude pair of shoes and she was extremely helpful. Walking with me and recommending what she thought I'd like. I did end up purchasing a pair. Fast forward to today...I stopped by looking for a black boot. I had something particular in mind so I got to it as soon as I walked in. I'm trying on boot after boot and over walks Michelle. She remembered me and we began to talk and again, she offered the most personable service. She helped me find the most amazing Vince Camuto boot and I couldn't be happier!! Again, my review is more so for the amazing customer service. I've been to many stores in this chain but I've never had anyone take the time to offer the kind of service that isn't usually offered in this kind of place. Par excellence!! Exclusive internet shoe shopper here. Went to DSW for price comparison and ended up (as everyone does) in the clearance section. A customer received a price adjustment on a shoe from $559 to...80% off of that price. She was a very petite shoe size of 6. I wanted to see the shoe. After looking at the $559 (with an 80% markdown) shoe it was clearly worn. When I say worn I mean worn outdoors and with multiple surfaces marred. This was clearly a shoe that should be donated to a thrift store and not sold. The designer, who I never heard of, would probably be embarrassed. This is a pretty decent DSW. It is bigger than some of the other DSW stores I have been in. In fact I had just been at the Ashburn location and they didn't have the shoe size I wanted in stock of a pair of heels I needed for party so I decided to come out to Tyson's after seeing they had my size in stock at the shoe I was looking at. Not only did they have my size in stock they had a much bigger selection of shoes. I was shopping for dressy shoes and ended up with a pair I didn't see at the location closer to my house. They could use some more cross trainer shoes as it seemed all they had were running sneakers. This store is super long and it has a ton of shoes and a good selection of shoes. Of all the DSW stores in the area, this one is my least favorite. The store is smaller than Fairfax or Baileys Crossroad. The clearance section is even smaller. The manager seemed very nice and helpful. And I saw her helping customers in the store and explaining things to the customer with a kind smile. Most DSW shoppers know that if you use coupons on a purchase, if you decide to return the item, you can apply the coupon to the next purchase, as long as you do the return and purchase in the same transaction. I had trouble doing this at this particular store a few times. One time, the cashier simply refused to do so. Another time, the cashier said that the coupon can only be carried over once. I had never had trouble with the other DSW stores. And the cashiers were less than friendly both times. I would avoid making returns or exchanges at this store. I only shop here if I am in the area. If I am looking for something specific, I would visit the other two stores I mentioned earlier. read more

This place gives me happy feet. Literally! It is--by far--my favorite DSW location ever!!! Even with the price of gas skyrocketing on a daily basis, I still drive alllllllllll the way to Vienna's DSW (while passing one that is literally a block from my house) about twice a month. Seriously -- it's just that good! Now I've been on the fence about writing this review because, well, it would pain me something terribly if this is read by the masses of 7M-foot ladies who always manage to take the shoe I want in my size in every other store. But I am going to put self-interest aside long enough to sing the praises of this great little place. First, the store is always super clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. And their selection (even in the ever popular size 7M) is always superb. Case in point -- I was able to find a cute little ballet flat in my size in black at this store that was not available at DSW online, not available from any other online show retailer in my size and color (and I looked high and low at all the major outlets -- even on thefind[dot]com and on amazon), and not available at the closest other two DSWs to my house. I ride out to Vienna. Not only do they have the shoe, but they have two pairs. In 7M. In black. I couldn't even believe it. SO I GOT THEM BOTH!!!!!!! This is just one of the great and fantastic finds I've stumbled across in this gem of a store. I could say SO many good things about this store. But suffice it to say that this is one of my go-to places for the overhaul of my shoe wardrobe this season. My only complaint (and it is a minor one) is that the back room is poorly lit, so it's hard to see the clearance shoes. Other than that, I give this DSW a perfect 5 stars. read more

This location has a decent selection of Mens shoes. Its amazing how many womens shoes this store carries! If you are looking for a dress boot, this is not the place....I found a Cole Haan boot at a decent price, but other this gem, you wont find much outside the "Hipster" selection. They have a poor selection of athletic shoes available, very limited. But if you're looking for the shoes to match your new suit...this is the place! read more

I can't believe I never reviewed my second home. Just when I know EVERY shoe in the store, they bring in the new collection and my heart pitter patters. This place will change the way you buy shoes. All the shoes are out on display. You don't need to hunt down a sales person, ask them to find your size, wait (I'm not patient) then have them lurking around while you try on shoes. You see your shoe (all shoes visible from the front door), pull out your size below, and voila. Walk around the store and pretend to be on the runway. Then text your friends pictures of your shoes. The only thing that would make the experience better would be a wine bar in the corner :) Their rewards membership program rocks. I manage to get $120 shoes for nothing. You can combine up to 3 coupons, and their customer service is excellent. If you follow them on Twitter they're very responsive. Not so crazy about their purse collection or tights. But who cares. Terrible customer service not just from one employee, but multiple. I actually used to work at another Dsw and I understand that customer service is an important part of the business process. The employees I interacted with were both curt and uninterested in social engagement. Returned the shoes same day. I have been shopping at DSW for 10 years now but this was the worse store ever! The cashier (ABBY) was very rude when I told her that I would like to use my coupon on a purchase I have purchased few days earlier but didn't have the coupon with me at that time. She said she can't do that. So she called the manager (MICHELLE) but even she was very rude and not helpful at all. She didn't even try to do it for me. I know they could do that because I have done it many times. They both were lying and saying they don't know why other stores are doing this. I will never go to this location. I'm a guy and generally consider shopping for clothes/shoes pretty close to torture. I've been going here for a few years now, though, and I have to say it's extremely painless. Everything is in plain view, there are plenty of places to sit down and try stuff on, no one bothers you, and, most importantly, they have a great selection of everything from dress shoes to sneakers. Okay so here's the situation. We're gold members of DSW and my mom bought shoes for my dad there. He ended up not liking them, so we went to return them. Their system for returns had crashed, so they needed to do the no-receipt return on my mom, meaning that we can only do a no receipt return once more. Mind you, we had a receipt, but we had to take the hit for their systems being down. Not only that, but the attitude of the cashier was inexcusable. Very disappointed. read more
