The service is extremely bad here!!! I was treated poorly when I was trying to return shoes. Apparently they don't do returns unless they "do you a favor" and they try to lecture you about it. I didn't grab the girl's name but it was a shorter Hispanic girl at register today. Horrible attitude didn't greet me when I said hi to her. She rolled her eyes at me and was condescending during the entire interaction with me and my partner. The value is terrible since you can go to Tilly's and get the same shoes for almost $10 cheaper. The footwear brands are always just what we are looking for. We always have a good experience with the service provided by Miranda and the sales people on the floor. I purchased a pair of Ryka sneakers during their Black Friday sale. The sole of the sneaker began to separate from the shoe after only a week's worth of wear (I don't work in a high traffic job, and didn't put enough wear and tear on the shoes to warrant that kind of damage). I took the shoes back to the store and was told I could exchange them for another pair (great! I really liked the shoes, thought they were very comfortable). When I went to exchange them, they charged me an additional $30, as the sale was no longer going on. So in the end, even though I went down and purchased shoes during a sale, and those shoes happened to be faulty, I am punished for the faulty shoes by not being able to do a straight exchange? So, so disappointed, especially as I've been a loyal DSW customer for over a decade. read more

We will not be returning to this store. Unfortunately the customer service here is honestly rude and will racial profile you. I was not aware that we had royalty working behind the counter. They refuse to return a pair of shoes. They were bought three days prior to my return to the store. The staff refused to return them stating that they know for a fact that we use the shoes with a firm affirmation as if they seen my sister and I at a Garden Party, or a Royal Ball. Buyers beware if you tend to buy here make sure that the shoes fit properly and are to your liking the store will not return them or will fight you to return them. read more

I guess it's a nice clean shoe store but sensitivity training for employees is strongly encouraged or at least some form of replacement towards the person who trains them. The young lady who helped me out has fake dyed blonde hair, similar to the look of a sandy blonde paint brush. I had just set my shoe box in front of her ready to pay but she simply chose to walk away and help someone else calling in on the phone to check on their current stock. Why do people on the phone have a higher priority than a customer ready to pay and make a purchase? I really don't know who the manager is for the day shift during the middle of the week but you shouldn't walk away from a customer in the middle of a transaction. I've worked in retail for years and I know that people want to feel valued when shopping. She glared at me walking into the store. Did not say welcome or any greeting. When I was ready to check out, Melissa was still with a customer but the other cashier finished her customer and glared at me again and walked away to another customer on the floor. She did not want to help me with 2 pairs of children's shoes. She made it known I did not belong there. She made it known she does not enjoy her job. Awful customer service!!!!!!! The Store was almost empty 5/21/18 at 1:55pm. I walked in and smiled, no return acknowledgment, not a smile nor a hello or even eye contact. I shopped for an hour and a half, boxes and shoes all on the floors and benches. I purchased 3 pairs of shoes and told the oblivious clerk that I had a discount code. He cut me off and said that it was for online only. I corrected him and read that it was for online in store and on the app. I pulled up the email and handed him the phone. He never said a word not even an apology for being incorrect. The "Thank you" after my purchase was said under his breath as he looked away. Smoke was coming out of my ears!!!! I wanted to push the bag back towards him and politely ask him to credit my card back for the purchase and let him keep the shoes!!! I have been a member of DSW VIP for many years and I like that they offer rewards and coupons from time to time. However, I was very disappointed with the service at this location. Before I went there, I went online to print out my member number and current rewards. When I brought my shoes to the cashier, they told me that I don't have any reward points. After I showed them the paper I printed at home, they said I have to provide them the code of my $10 off reward. I asked them if they can find that in their computer system because I don't have access of my DSW account on my phone. They said they were not able to do that, but they can hold onto the shoes and I have to come back in 24 hours or they will put the shoes back on the shelf. I am not going to drive all the way back there in 24 hours just because they insisted that I have to provide the reward code. They should be able to find it on their system since they have my account number and information. I was very disappointed and felt that the employees there didn't know how to do business. I would rather purchase shoes online than coming to this DSW again. I hope they will have more training on their employees and provide better solution for the customers. DSW turned me into one of those people that can't fit all of their shoes in the closet. What gets me to keep going to them are their deals (mostly online). And don't just walk past the clearance section thinking you're too good! I've seen shoes marked down that I've seen at a higher price on the floor a month earlier. If this was based on rating this actual store. 2 stars. Bad warehouse lighting to where it almost makes you feel like you're on something and the weird tribal/techno music they play doesn't help. I usually get a head ache from this place especially during the night. People there are helpful for the most part. While the store is geared mostly at women, they do have some men's selection. 4 star for ladies selection. 2 for the men. I went in tho DSW (Lugonia) this weekend and I agree with sone prior reviews .. Pre Pandemic, this was a very nice store with lots of variety & quality shoes, not anymore. With the decline noted in this store, it appears there is a decline in some customer service as well. I bought shoes from clearance but my box was labeled with a price not covered on the posted discount sign. I have never seen this kind of thing in the past times pre pandemic. When I brought it to the customer service person ringing my purchase asking why incorrect labeling she said that some times it's just that way and does t know why.. I then suggested it be brought to attention so that we can know the proper discount we are being charged, she replied, " we don't make the signs here and don't have any control over what they send us so it's just what it is". She then charged what the next price up was and took the owed % off that price. She then pointed out to me that I did get the 40% off the price per the Red label.. but it wasn't off the price on my box.. What attitude and tone.. and is the principal of the situation ..and no matter how big or small the difference the price was not honored and then take the label % which is ripping someone off .. so although there are some low prices to fit some budgets, this is no way to honorably represent the DSW brand nor the store and brand with a poor attitude. I trained employees for our front 29 yrs on appropriate customer services, HR, and scenario training. I can assure you the DSW should not feel comfortable with these types of transactions. I initially went in with my daughters they wanted sandals and found something also. I would not have chosen to shop there otherwise as they no longer carry my style shoes.. but that is just me.. Had a wonderful experience yesterday! Not only was the store clean and looked like they took all the precautions due to covid-19, they also advised me of the new changes as I migrated in so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a long wait in line. They have 2 lines. One for returns and one for purchases. Overall it was a very welcoming experience. Kudos to the MANAGER in charge and her TEAM. I think her name started with a V. I just returned from visiting this location. I cannot believe the service I just experienced! I had a coupon, and purchased some loafers. Upon approaching the checkout area, there was nobody on register. About 2 minutes later "Samantha" says I'll help you on the middle register. Samantha did not greet me, she did not say hello, she did not ask if I found everything okay, she did not smile. In fact, Samantha looked miserable and like she hates her job. She rang me up, applied my coupon, and told me my total. I asked her if there were anymore of the "Free duffel bags" that I had a coupon for. Samantha said in a condescending tone "The red one. No. There's a new coupon for this blue one, that just came out today, but you have to physically show me the coupon to get it." I said: I don't understand. My coupon is not expired, I have it here in my hand, the coupon for the blue one is likely sitting in my mailbox as we speak, does it really matter? She simply replied: Yes. It does. Samantha then proceeds to tell me I'm signed up for emails and I probably have an email for the promo. If she knows this, why can't she just give me the bag that I LITERALLY have a coupon for? Why? Oh I know. For the reason previously mentioned. Samantha hates her job, and that was evident from the start of my transaction since she couldn't even bother to say hello. I proceed to tell her to forget it. I'm not in the mood to argue with her, and it's obvious she doesn't want to help me. She said "I'm sorry ma'am". Not how can I make it right? Shoe stores are one of those places that you have to keep coming back to, in the off chance their change of stock will have something for you and in your size. DSW is no exception. I've been to other locations, so the layout is always the same. Large open store with rows and rows of shoes. Wonderful selection; racks of shoes in the back are where the sales are. A few rows for men. Belts, bags, and the usual accessories in the front. They have a small selection of wide widths, which is what I wear. I'll still come back, but I may be better off going on their online location or Amazon for my hobbit feet. read more

Worst Return Policy Ever!!! I drove from Victorville to this store and purchased 4 pairs of shoes two of which ended up hurting my feet and leaving sores. After making the hour long drive back to return them with original packaging and receipt I was first questioned by the cashier then told by the manager that the DSW company as a whole is cracking down on their return policy. If they look even remotely worn they will not give you your money back even if they caused pain and damage to your feet. No store credit or exchange either! They will hand back your shoes and receipt. I can't believe a store like this has such a deplorable anti-customer return policy. I will not be returning. For a designer shoe store, it is abit lacking in variety and style. Was very disappointed in lack of variety. But for what they do have, some are really nice looking. Sadly, they're really pricey for what they are. I normally shop online for shoes and on average usually spend $60+ or even $80, so coming here, I did expect to spend around that much, but again, they are very pricey for what they are. There was only one size for the pair I wanted and it was the one on display, which meant a LOT of people would grab that one and wear it. It resulted in little scuffs and white spots (it's black heels shoes). I asked if they happen to have another of this size and the employee, Tony, kindly explained what they have out is all they have. So I had asked if it was alright to get a little discount on these pair because the quality is obviously not the best. A manager was called to confirm and while I don't mind paying the full price of it despite the scuffs and white marks, the manager was outrightly so rude. She dismissed it off. When asked if there was a way to help get rid of the marks, she less than helpful with no advice whatsoever and instead just shrugged and told me "this is fine." I would no go here again and I would not recommend this store to anyone. But if you're on a gotta-buy-shoes-for-a-last-minute-special-event schedule that you're willing to spend a lot of money unnecessarily, then this is probably a last resort option you can go to. read more

If you've been following my storyline with DSW and all these shoe stores... you'll probably be wondering, why did you visit another DSW!? Well... I was unfortunate, that's why! When I tried on the right foot, I was able to fit and it was comfy enough.. turns out it's because everyone has tried it on so many times that the shoe has been stretched out. Of course I hadn't tried on the left foot so I purchased it and threw away my receipt. I was in terrible pain wearing my flats to work the next day, and I cannot bear to wear it another time. I was nearby so I wanted to check out to see if they had different styles I could possibly exchange... they didn't. Why am I so unlucky?! The nice lady (Veronica, I believe) told me that even though I don't have my receipt, I can still bring the shoes in with the box and they will do whatever they can to help me exchange.
