My podiatrist recommended DSW for the shoes I needed and they did not disappoint. It's hard to find a comfortable dress shoe from my 72 year old foot. I bought one and took it home. For it for awhile on the carpet and took it back. It was a no-hassle return and the lady was very helpful in pointing out brands to look at. I spent an hour trying on 4-5 different shoes until I found the perfect one. Wore it 7 hours on Sunday with not complaint. I had also ordered a pair of sandals on my previous visit. Love the location of this store. It's in a cute area in Watter's creek. There is parking out front or a huge parking lot back behind the building. The store itself is huge. They have kids shoes and adult shoes. They have pretty good deals on designer shoes. I found a pair of shoes that I normally buy at Nordstrom that were $20 off the regular price. The only issue they have is organization. I placed an order online to pickup in store. It took them 15 minutes to find my shoes then one pair was missing. They looked in the computer and saw they were canceled but no reason was given. It was a little irritating because I needed the shoes. The second time I came they said my shoe order was canceled. What's weird is I received a notification saying my shoes were ready to pick up so I'm not sure how or why they got canceled. No one could give me an answer. The third time I ordered shoes online it took the woman 25 minutes to find the shoes. By this time my child was screaming and ready to leave. She kept coming back up to the register to check my order number. When she finally found them she said "oh they were under the name #####." Lol I just looked at her and said "well that IS my name." This is an ok store. A bit disorganized and not the brightest employees. I wouldn't recommend ordering shoes and having them shipped to the store. If you order online, have them shipped directly to your house and bring them into the store to return if they don't fit. I've learned my lesson now after the 3rd mishap with them in store. read more

This is my FAVORITE of all of the DSW's in the DFW area. This one is absolutely huge and located in the Watters Creek shopping mall in Allen. They have a very broad selection of both men and womens shoes and a giant room at the back dedicated just to clearance. This makes me oh-so-happy inside. In addition they seem to have a better selection overall in comparison to the other DSW's. More styles, and they usually have the right size. On the day when I ended up at 3 different DSWs it was this one who helped me locate the sizes I needed and called ahead to the other stores to have them hold them. You can definitely park right in front at one of the pay-to-park meter spots, or park around the corner in the garage for free. Easy to do and then you can grab some frozen yogurt! read more

I experienced a lack of customer service at this location and was made to feel uncomfortable. I had a pair of boots half size too big and found my actual size at the Frisco location. The original pair hadn't been out of the box since I purchased them, but the cashier and manager attempted to bully me into store credit. Just be sure to take pictures of your items before purchase. As others have said, at this store they are quick to excuse dirt and damage on their items pre-purchase, claiming you will have no problem returning them, but will be the first to use any excuse not to give you a refund. DSW has rows and rows and rows of shoes. Thankfully, they are all organized and sorted very well. This particular location seems to suit me well, as I always find my size and colors! You can park right out front of the store, but be prepared to feed the meter a few coins if you don't drive a hybrid. (haters) Otherwise, there is a parking garage close by (free!) Be sure to sign up for the rewards club, you accumulate points that are good for 10 off certificates. It's free and oh so easy. read more

So I went to the Allen store last night to check out the Clearance since it had an additional 25% off and found some cool BCBG heels. The bottom of the shoes looked used as it had a beige/tannish type of dirt all over it. When I got to the checkout to ask if I could get an additional discount given the wear on the shoes, she tells me that this is how the shoes come. I was speechless and asked, so the shoes come with dirt on the bottom? And looked at the other cashier and she agreed. I looked at both of them in disbelief and said ok. But I was pretty upset because I don't like to be lied to and did they really think I would believe them??? They must think I was dumb! All they had to say is that they couldn't give me an additional discount. Not make up some bogus lie. It just really decreased the level of respect I have for the store's management. I will still go back but it seems management has changed as these were two ladies I have never seen before and one of them seemed to be a manager. I also asked another employee prior to checkout in the clearance area and she said she was new but that I might be able to get a discount if I ask upfront. People sometimes astonish me with their boldness of lying. Hopefully management gets their shit together, otherwise I won't be returning to put up with these shenanigans. Peace. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I came in looking to purchase a pair of shoes but was instead followed around the store, treated poorly, and was embarrassed by the staff. From the moment I walked I was not greeted by a single staff member or asked if I was searching for anything or even acknowledged. Instead I was watched intently by staff member who I now know is KRISTY as if I there with bad intent. I searched for shoes for myself occasionally trying ones on and putting them back on the shelves. I noticed a sales associate standing on the opposite ends of the isle I was in watching me. At first I didn't think anything of it and went to the back of the store to see what sales they had. The sales associate followed right in toe with my movement this I thought was odd especially since the store is over 15,000 square feet and she wasn't even trying to engage with me. But again I tried to dismiss it as coincidence.. that was until the 3rd time I noticed she AGAIN wasn't doing anything in particular in the isle, but just watching what I was doing. Anytime I tried to make eye contact with her she looked away. I also took note there were other customers spread around the store who were freely shopping no sales associate near them in sight. Yet for me, every time I stopped she just so happened to stop either in the same isle or just the opposite isle and kept lurking after what I was doing. At this point I became VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and to test my theory went through 6-8 random isles occasionally stopping to look at merchandise but took note that the sales associate - KRISTY FOLLOWED ME THROUGH EVERY SINGLE ONE never speaking to me or asking if I needed help but watching me like I was there to take something. Again I looked around the store where other people were shopping who didn't look like me and were there the whole time I was but didn't have anybody following them around. It was a HORRIBLE experience. After I walked through the final random isle it was completely obvious that she was following me. I walked past plenty of other customer who did not have someone hounding them like she was doing to me. At this point I asked why she was following me throughout the store and she stammered and came up with some BS excuse that her manager told her to do point of sale in the back of the store in clearance. (Mind you- AT THIS POINT WE WERE AT THE FRONT OF THE STORE NEAR THE REGISTER!) Where again she followed me to because she left the back of the store at the EXACT same time and same route as I did. So I called her on the BS and asked to speak with the manager CARRIE who was no help at all as I explained how uncomfortable and unwelcome I felt as a patron simply trying to shop in the store. I felt it was very discriminatory and unbecoming of a chain like DSW; to have customers walk into a store and be watched and treated like we're there for lawlessness. CARRIE was not at all understanding or amicable to the discrimination of her staff which is horrific. I called and spoke with the district manager Keri, hopefully by this point she has spoken with her staff at the Allen location about better customer service practices because in all my years of retail both working and as a customer I know this behavior is completely unacceptable. read more

I am a shoe fanatic and always shopping for a new shoe, boot or bag. The array of shoes is one of the best for the whole family.

I used to love shopping at DSW in Allen. My two most recent visits have been very disappointing. First, in the whole store there were 3 shoes available in 5 1/2. When questioned, the manager told me they don't order 5 1/2, but I can tell you in the past I've never had a problem finding that size at this location. Second, there were young sales people all over the entire store. This included right at the front. Not one of these sales associates said hello, asked if they could help me find anything, or even acknowledged my existence. In fact, they seemed annoyed by the presence of customers. I spoke to the manager feeling like the feedback would be helpful. She didn't seem to concerned. I won't be back. read more

My suggestion would be to hire staff that wants to be there. Brynn, the associate that assisted me should not be working in Customer Service. She was so impolite, no smile, short, responding "yea" instead of "yes". She seemed so unhappy.
