Hired these guys from a Valpak coupon (which actually just advertises their regular prices) and I have to say my experience with them was bad. I don't give out "1-Stars" on a whim, but this company make me feel cheated and taken advantage of and to me that deserves the dreaded Uno. I'll try and be brief about my review: First, "The Goods:" They were nice on the phone and didn't sweat it when I had to change our appointment time a few times beforehand. Also, the carpets are much cleaner so they're cleaning system does work. Now, "The Bads:" They gave me a window between 3-4 but called 30minutes before and said that they're going to be 1.5 hours late, which he was. I left work to come meet him so this last-minute change was annoying. This was a Sunday so traffic was not the issue, it was poor time management on their part. When they arrived it was just a kid that looked only about 17 years old. He told me that my space (2 rooms) was about half the space covered in the "coupon" but that he'd need to charge the minimum anyway ($43.95). Okay fine, I get that, but I'm now starting to feel a bit taken. But here's where the Hidden Costs start coming out: Part of the deal was to clean the shower of mildew at $.25 sq. ft (they're advertised price) but the kid said that the machine couldn't get into the shower so he'll have to charge more to do it by hand. This jumped the price from about $5 to $25 and that's with a supposed "discount" for being so late. My shower is a standard shower, approx 4ftx4ft so if you have one like this, don't expect the $.25 price. Oh, and by the way, if they are able to use the machine, it's the same one they clean your carpets with just as an FYI. Pretty gross if you ask me. I asked that he bring down the cost for the tile and he refused saying he txted his boss but received no response. Fine, whatever, I just wanted to go on about my day. After cleaning up, I waited about 15 min for him to come back with the bill but no luck so I went looking for him and found him in the truck texting with someone. He saw me and quickly wrote out a bill that just said $70. I asked him to itemize the costs and he came out with a new total of $68.95. It's a buck, whatever, but it's so shady and unprofessional to just make up a cost and throw it out there. Then came payment. They want Cash or Checks (I'm assuming more shadiness). But on their coupon they show credit cards, so I wanted to pay with that. They don't have Square or any sort of professional credit card reader so they enter all your credit card information onto a website that is "supposedly" run by Chase. I was nervous about giving this kid all my info and I'm going to be monitoring that card to see if anything bad comes out of it. Their coupon says "No Hidden Costs" and "satisfaction guaranteed" which are both BS. I'm going to speak with the owner about my experience and hopefully some good can come of it. But for now, I do not recommend these guys. read more

I was very excited when I hired Dry Maser to come clean my carpets and my couch as I had a coupon for $79 for five rooms. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to my high hopes. The technician, JR, did show up during my scheduled one hour time window so that was appreciated and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. I showed him the 3 rooms and 3 sets of stairs that needed cleaning and the couch and he took measurements and then quoted me $250. I said I had a coupon but he informed me that the square footage I needed cleaned was larger than what the coupon covered and stairs cost more and the extra dirtiness on the carpets from my 2 dogs also costs more. This was not a surprise as other carpet companies have charged roughly the same amount for the same areas in my home to be cleaned but was also disappointing because the coupon was useless. Then once JR got started he informed me that they don't clean the 1 inch of carpet next to any walls because they have had complaints in the past of them chipping the paint on client's walls and having to go back and paint/repair damages. This seemed reasonable at first but now that my carpet has had time to dry, there are dirty steaks all over my house. And the streaks are well over 1 inch wide. JR finished up in about 2 hours and I asked him if he had completed the couch and he said that he didn't do the couch because he didn't know I asked that to be included. But I specifically know I told him to include the couch when he showed up (and told the guy on the phone when I scheduled the appointment). JR said it could be done if I scheduled another appointment. So then I have to pay him and I ask if they take credit cards and he says it's difficult on Saturdays but he'll try. He calls someone who doesn't answer and then tells me I'll need to write a check. This was also disappointing because I didn't have $250 in checking at the time because I didn't expect to pay this much. But I write him anyways and the service is complete. So all in all, not the worst carpet cleaning I've ever had but definitely not good and definitely will not be hiring them again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had. I set my appt. up three days ahead of time, and am told that the "worker" would be arriving between 9-12 am. He calls me, shows up at 9:30, thumbs up man you showed up early.... he walks in looks at the carpet says it needs deep cleaning and that carpet is stained, just so we are clear I just moved into this place and all I need is to feel like I have clean carpet. If the carpets were stained and in terrible condition I would just change the carpet. Anyway, i mention that carpets are not stained, he doesn't let me finish and says in any case this is what needs to be done- deep cleaning, special treatment etc. it's going to take me an hour In a half and normally it'd be $250-275 but I'll do it for $150 then I tell him I was quoted for 43.99 since it's only a living and a master bedroom. He says no that's not correct, and repeats he will do it for $150. I honestly figured it'd be more then 43.99 but the way he tried to haggle me was unreal. He was super unprofessional, he obviously came unwilling to work. As soon as I said I was not going to pay that much for carpet that I could see with my own eyes was not stained or need all the extras he said it needed he said ok and literally walked out of my house. Wtf. Thanks Rob or Ron or whatever your name was because you came and left within five minutes I didn't really even catch your name. Terrible customer service. Super unprofessional like I mentioned and honestly just plain rude. Had a mailer advertising "3 Rooms for $43.95" with the qualifier that the area of the 3 Rooms not exceed 330 square feet. 330sq ft is ridiculously small for 3 rooms [I have 3 rooms that are over 330 sq.ft. each all on their own] so I was aware there would be a higher cost involved. The area I needed cleaned was 480 sq.ft. total [45% larger than the 330sf on the coupon] so I figured it would cost another 40%-50% more. Wrong. 82% more at $79.95 but still not a bad deal. Not a good deal any more, but not a bad one either as this is what most other companies will charge without a discount. *So much for any savings. The company advertises that they use the "DryMaster DRY-shampoo method" that uses "no liquid or chemicals" [Quotes are direct quotes from mailer as well as the company website]. When the technician arrived the first thing he asked was where he could fill up his machine with hot water then dumped another solution from what was obviously a bottle of some kind of chemical detergent. *So much for the "no liquid or chemicals" spiel. The machine itself was really no different than "The Rug Doctor" that can be rented at most any supermarket and it worked the exact same way so if you don't mind doing the actual labor yourself you can do your entire house for half the cost of letting these guys do just 3 normal sized rooms. For me, it was still worth the cost to have someone else do the actual sweating. When he was cleaning up to leave, the technician dumped the waste contents of the carpet cleaning machine in the gutter in front of the house. When the water washed away it left behind a rather large and disgusting dark pile of hair, animal fur, and other unidentifiable debris right under my mailbox for me and the mailman to enjoy until such time that it dries and I can work up the stomach to scrape it up with a shovel. The icing on the cake, the final straw that drove me to make the decision to post this Yelp review: After using my garden hose to rinse off his equipment he did not coil it back up but just piled it in place in one big tangle. Really? You can't roll the hose back up after you use it? Conclusion: The technician was likable enough and he did a good job of cleaning the carpet so my minimum expectations were met but the Bait & Switch of not getting a discount of any sort kinda stings and leaving a mess behind is not very professional. In this day and age I pretty much want more than the minimum effort expected for my hard earned money. I probably will not use this company again. I'm sure there are many others who have no problem going the extra mile to "WOW" a new customer. read more

Don't even know how to start this but I will say I unfortunately had an experience like Brett F. and wished I would have found a reputable company on Yelp and not used DryMasters "bait & switch" coupon (see uploaded advertisement photo with actual invoice). Doesn't match whatsoever. First the good news: -Aaron was kind and I believe his intention was to do the job requested (Air Duct Cleaning w/ FREE Dryer Vent Cleaning) because our new dryer was saying the vent was blocked. Bad news: -Yet when he arrived for what we believed was what they were advertising (see advertisement in photos) FREE Dryer Vent Cleaning, Entire Duct Package $27.95, Rotobrush Package $87.95 = $115.90 for entire system, he started selling us or telling not what we wanted but what we NEEDED. Therefore $262.95 (see invoice) that like Brett F. is not broken down just flat fee for total. Then and not that it was a problem he came ill prepared so needed to borrow an extension cord and wire cutters. Just not professional. I'm not going to beat a dead horse but I think consumers need to know about "bait & switch" companies like this, so here's some more... Aaron told us that we NEEDED better ventilation in our outdoor vent so he NEEDED to cut a hole, I was ok with this because like he said the last thing we need is a Fire. Please look at the job he did in uploaded pictures and how he left the vent, jagged and sore to the eyes. Hopefully HOA won't fine me for this. Also look at the picture we uploaded of the lint that was in chunks all over our home inside and out, you'd think if your getting your ducts, vents and dryer cleaned by a professional they'd clean behind themselves, especially for $262.95. Lastly and before Aaron left he said that he checked the Dryer for the lint warning light and it was working just fine, not!. As soon as we did a load of laundry it immediately came on and the back foil air flow tubing blew off. So the number one reason for us contacting this company never happened and we are awaiting Whirlpool to come out and take care of the blocked vent issue and to reconnect our dryer air flow tube. For stairs and a hall way $225 to get cleaned. Aaron really knows how to do the business talk and he's young. Mind you it is extremely soil with pet urine an dirt. so I figured ok.. hasn't been cleaned in awhile... I was told the eco friendly odorcide really works... ok. I asked him if it is a strong odor or chemical smell as I do not tolerate any of it as I have asthma.. I was told no.. WARNING - if you have breathing problems DO NOT HAVE THIS PRODUCT USED. EXTREMELY STRONG ORANGE AND CLOVE SMELL. Burns and will cause severe breathing problems or asthma.. After the Aaron started cleaning the carpets, the odorcide is extremely strong smelling. Started burning my throat, my chest got extremely tight and I couldn't get any air. I stepped outside - it's already a warm morning. Couldn't get a breath. Staying calm I was able to do a home breathing treatment. no one home so I had to wait for him to finish as I am turning pale. Paid the $225 and ended leaving for the urgent care. Took several hours before I could go back inside. Carpet is nice, but it didn't kill the urine smells - which is to be expected somewhat due to the age of the carpet... but now to deal with the odorcide and urine smell I am out of the house for a good while... I had a DryMaster coupon, and got an appointment about 6 weeks ago. The technician was sort of obnoxious, and he did lousy work. My carpet was wet for about 8 hours, the carpet feeling underfoot became rough, and the streaks he made never went away. I was furious and wrote a SCATHING REVIEW on Yelp (the first time I've ever written any review on Yelp, btw). That afternoon, I got a call from the owner, asking how he could make it right. Super apologetic. He offered to have his best technician come clean the carpets - free of charge - and do everything possible to do a good job. He called 3 more times, and I finally relented. Yesterday, Aaron showed up exactly on time, and told me the first guy had been fired after my bad experience (others had also complained and this was the last straw). He set to work immediately, and everything the first guy did wrong, Aaron reversed. I'm a happy camper now. The carpets are clean and soft again, and look like I just moved in. I even took down the original Yelp review, and am replacing it with this one. My two cents: these days businesses are moving so fast to make a buck, they often forget they're working for people. The marking on my chair didn't come out. I don't know anything about dry cleaning, but I just didn't get a good feeling about the experience. I called drymaster to clean the carpet they didn't take out any single spot and the guy keep repeating that we are drymaster and we use a different method to clean. We rent and our carpet is REALLY old!! We have 2 cats so we had a LOT of staining. DryMaster Calabasas on Agoura Rd was the BEST choice we've ever made because the technician, Aaron, was very thorough, took his time, got ALL our stains up and the carpet looks practically new! This is the second time we've used DryMaster. In between we used a different, very well-known company. Big mistake! AARON was just here and cleaned my carpets which had not been cleaned for 6 years ! He did a great job ... efficient, thorough and friendly ! The carpets look great. Of course, they do not look brand new. One can not expect "miracles" on carpets that get alot of traffic ... but they look almost brand-new, :-). He had alot of experience and could tell me exactly how to care for my carpets. PLUS, they gave me an excellent price, less than the other 2 bids I got on the job. I found out about them from a coupon offer in my "junk mail". Sometimes it really pays to look at that stuff, :-) . Also, I know this company has received some not so good reviews. Of course, I don't know exactly who did that work and when. I can only speak from my own experience. Every job and every situation is different and may require more or extra cleaning to get the job done well. Be sure to ask questions before the job is done, just like I did.
