The estimate was right in the middle of the range (for this area), and we were able to schedule the work for early the next week. It was going to be a single day, but our "mission glitch" was some less-than-up-to-code electrical on the old system that needed to be brought up to code. That added a few hours and ran us over into the next day, but it was done at no extra charge. From start to finish, communication was timely and clear, by text and phone with email as a backup. In related news, I later found out that asking adding a surcharge for debit transactions is actually illegal per U.S. Federal law. Good to know. (https://usa.visa.com/dam/VCOM/download/merchants/surcharging-faq-by-merchants.pdf) You might bring this up when they attempt to do charge you for a debit card, which my agent did. They can charge up to 3% for credit cards. Nevertheless, the good folks are the office were very nice about reversing the double-charge. I am waiting to see when it comes through. Pro's - Basic work seemed to be done well and at a price that was competitive with others I contacted at least for the basic service. - Communication was prompt. - After some re-scheduling on their part, the team did the work swiftly and efficiently. - Most of the terms were clear in advance, using Yelp Projects. Con's - This is a fairly shiesty corner of the home maintenance world. Many providers seem to give you a low-ball estimate to get in the door and then upsell significantly. - Envirosmart is not an exception. - The initial quote was $200. This included scoping the ducts and doing the negative pressure clean-out. - Onsite, they then upsold me to $670 for a more thorough brushing of the vents, sanitation, and some other ancillary services. - They were only modestly well-organized. They called the day-of to reschedule because of a conflict with internal training. They also confirmed a different time than I had originally scheduled. It was the difference of a 9 to 11am original window and a 2:30-3pm arrival. - The Yelp Project communication could have been clearer. They did not specify whether they were calling to quote me or coming to do the service! Amid all this and with some clarification and flexibility on our part, we worked it out. I would have appreciated either a discount or additional service for the delay. None was proffered. I did not go ahead with the upsell as I had already gotten quotes for less from other providers with somewhat more transparent pricing. I think the work they did appeared fine. See attached pics. Your guess is as good as mine which are before and which are after! They did not specify when they sent them to me and email took off the timestamp. I'm hoping the cleaner ones. I probably will try another service when I do this again and with a higher rated provider. All in all, though, I had low expectations and those low expectations were met.

Over the weekend someone came, I was home literally the entire time and they didn't knock or ring our Ring doorbell but just left business cards wedged in our door, even though they knew our garage code for entrance. Then someone called me to check in and said he'd call back but didn't. It seems like Jose and Daniel had received completely different training than the other employees- I'd could have sworn I was working with two different companies in terms of professionalism and reliability. In either case Jose saved us from having to cut a hole in our ceiling which was invaluable to me and they were in and out in a week. This time I shopped around and found a good rate from Skyline. Checked their business license, insurance, and LNI and they looked clean. So I gave them a shot. Scott came and spent about 2 hours working on our heat pump, furnace, and descaling our tankless water heater. He was very organized and had the right equipment for the jobs in his truck. Good sense of humor, but also good advice around how to best upkeep those systems in my house. I ended up getting a discount by purchasing this year's service and next year's together. Thomas was easy to get in contact with and responded the same day to my questions. Our pack-out occurred over 3 days, we had a team of 5-7 people on site supporting us each day. We worked with two site leads Wendy & Vicky who are experts in packing protocol and cataloging our personal items. Vicky and Wendy kept everyone coordinated so the work proceeded quickly with everyone knowing their roles. I adored our moving team; the crew was personable and careful with my items. The team answered my packing questions and accommodated me when I wanted to pull something out of the pack pile. Everyone was respectful of my property and my pets who were still onsite. Nothing was damaged during our move. The team also worked hard even in the 85-plus-degree weather. At the time of this review, construction is still ongoing, so we have not moved back yet. They moved furniture and tore out the damaged carpet in 2 rooms. The communication between the insurance company and Superior, then to us was seamless. The horrible situation of the flood was made much easier due to the exceptional service provided by Fidel and Ramadan. I've read some of the other poor reviews which seem to be a few years old. So perhaps some of the issues the other people experienced have been corrected. Also, perhaps working through the insurance company takes some of the headache out of the paperwork issue. My experience was extremely positive and I would use their service again (but fingers crossed I won't have another flood!)
