I have had an on and off water issues in my lower level for years. A previous "life-time guaranteed" solution from another provider went bad. The company went out of business so the guarantee was worthless. When I noticed a musty smell, I contacted three other companies for opinions and solutions, All gave me different information and a wide range of prices. When I told a realtor my frustrations, she recommended Dry Effects. When the inspector came out, I immediately felt confident with his knowledge and experience. The Dry Effects estimate was also more reasonable than the others. Dry Effects sent out two crews. The first one to remediate wetness/mold in the walls and another to install a drain connected to my sump pump. They also provided a guarantee for their work. When another hidden problem arose months later, they promptly remediated it at no cost to me. After COVID, I have found it hard to find service providers who are reliable and efficient. You are probably worried about two things right now if you are reading this review... first, you are worried you may have some kind of mold or water problem. Secondly, you are probably worried a professional coming in to "help you" will also be taking advantage of your situation to maximize their profit. We had a fantastic experience with Nick Alley from Dry Effect. He came in, gave a very thorough investigation, taught us a bunch about what to look for and how to prevent future issues. He gave us great options for both professional and home remediation approaches, and the pros and cons of each. Nick went way above and beyond helping diagnose one of the problems we found that looked like a water/mold issue, but that was actually unrelated. Something that they wouldn't make a penny on from fixing. We have since chased it down, and he was spot on with his diagnosis. It felt like a real partnership with a company I could trust. I am sorry if you need them, and I hope I never need them again. But if I do, I won't hesitate for a *second* to call them back in. read more

They were very timely, courteous, professional and did a wonderful job cleaning up the mess in our flooded finished basement after our septic system backed-up. We were very impressed that they finished the job so quickly which helped prevent further damage. They had to remove carpet, trim, cabinets, and cut and remove wet drywall in the majority of the space- not an easy job. They sent a 6-man crew and had the job finished in a relatively short amount of time given the amount of damage. They left the fans and dehumidifiers in place for several days and did a very thorough job making sure that everything was dry before they removed the equipment. The cost was more than fair- we were actually surprised at how reasonable they were. Not only did they do a great job, but it was nice to know that the money was going to a locally owned business. We highly recommend Dry Effect, but hope that you never find yourself in the situation to need their services :) read more

I have had a few family members with recent water damage who used other companies. My family members had no problem getting the other companies to come out but could not get them to come back and get the fans, dehumidifiers, etc. (all of which was being charged at a daily rate, was only supposed to be 3-5 days but then was 9-11). So I decided to call Dry Effect when I had water damage. They came out in 30 min and honored their initial quote. They were always on time, even during the follow up & fan removal. The tech I had answered all questions I had and worked quickly. Thanks to their quick response we were able to save the carpet and drywall. I called late at night on a Friday about mold I had found in my apartment and Josh was able to be over in the early afternoon Saturday. He did thermal imaging and checked the relative humidity and explained what exactly we were looking at. Although he was the bearer of bad news, he offered suggestions about what I should do. We had a sewage backup in our house, after having plumbers come out and fix the immediate issues, they recommended we call Dry Effect for the cleanup. Within two hours of the initial call, Dave showed up. He took a quick look around the basement made some initial assessments and walked me through the process moving forward. Expecting bare minimum customer service, I was more then surprised with Dave's attention to our concerns, questions etc. during the cleaning process which only took a a few hours with the help of Josh(equally attentive) the 2 man crew were awesome! Before leaving the first night they had already predicted that our dry wall would not have to be ripped up, only having removed the carpet and other damaged / destroyed items. Dave came back daily to check on the conditions while Josh came back only one or two more times (wasn't needed), again he was great as well. Dave answered my phone calls or called me back within minutes to answer follow up questions. The Dry Effect crew, jumped into action and continued to be helpful throughout the whole process. I would recommend/ use them again if I ever have an issue like this again. Thank you Dry Effect team and especially Dave and Josh. We were on Vacation and had hardwood floors out in and discovered our basement ceiling had been repaired with Kills and had water spots that were 'covered up" by the installers without telling us. We were very pleased with the work Dry Effect did in our home in Cincinnati in Feb. 2019. A crew, led by Dave D., responded to our call for help for water in the basement within a couple of hours. Dave was very helpful in explaining options, work to be done and his crew always came when they said they would. Much work was done removing waterlogged carpet and padding, removing standing water over a period of days, and providing industrial dehumidifiers and large drying fans. The Dry Effect employees were very respectful of our home as they worked, and gave us genuine consideration when calculating the charges for their services over a 10-day period. The company worked well with our insurance adjuster to make sure our coverage was maximized. My house developed some mold after we discovered a leaky water valve that had been slowly dripping for a while. Josh (the owner) quickly came over to assess the situation even though I called him on a weekend and his crew was in the house for demolition within a week. I appreciate that they were able to squeeze in my job so quickly especially despite that my job occurred at the same time as flooding in Texas/Oklahoma which I understand that they sent several crews to help out with flooding damage. Josh was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The crew that he sent was also very friendly and explained everything that they would be doing. The job was finished within about 6 days. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, my adult daughter was out of town and her cat sitter came into the home and discovered what no one ever wants to see....the water line to her ice maker had ruptured and the kitchen was flooded. Dry Effects did an excellent job for us with their very fast response, excellent communications/customer service and of course, cleaning up a deep sewer backup!! We ALWAYS prefer to get a referral to a contractor and lucky for us, we knew someone who had had experience with backups himself. He highly recommended them to us. The crew guy, Dave, showed up shockingly fast since that day many people had had issues with excessive water. Dave is a very impressive guy, if you ask me. Such a positive, energetic, can-do attitude about such a nasty job - where do you find people like that??? He patiently answered all our questions and was very reassuring. His communications, scheduling, etc. were spot-on for someone who has no idea how this all works. He worked tirelessly it seemed and got the job done quickly and with no inconvenience to us - we didn't have to do a thing except call them for HELP. The entire lower level was disinfected many times, dried and dehumidified, including the salvageable wood furniture, drywall cut out and removed, carpet ripped up and disposed of and they left NO dust or debris when they finished. They also perform restoration work to prior condition but because we have no insurance for this we will be restoring the space ourselves. No question we will be recommending them to anyone who needs help. Within just a few days of the backup we received a note from Dry Effects, in the mail, giving us gift certificates to the movie theatre AND to Applebees - so we can remove ourselves from the mess and enjoy some relaxation on Dry Effects. This company is so amazing and excellent!!!!! Our basement flooded, I called Tuesday at 10am they came out by 11:30 that same day. The estimate was more than reasonable, it was actually lower than most and so affordable. They put equipment in that same day to dry up the mess and came out the next day cleaned the basement and hauled out everything that got damage from clothes to drywall. They left the equipment to dry the basement again after cleaning it properly and will be back out in 2 days to pick up their equipment. Roto Rooter and other places were charging us $3,000-$4,000, we went over the exact same things that Roto Rooter and other companies were going to do and how they were going to clean. This company did the exact same thing and exactly the same way as the other companies and my price was a third of everyone's else's cost. You might think a third of cost, they must have cut corners but they didn't I was down there the whole time. This business is keeping the cost in reality for everyday people. So make the same choice we did you won't regret it!!!! read more

We used Dry Effect for minor mold remediation in out basement after our sump pump failed while we were out of town. Nick came to our home and provided our estimate as well as the final walk-through inspection when the work was done, while Kyle and Kris did the actual work in the basement - dehumidifying, removing drywall as needed, and applying anti-fungal solution. All three people were friendly and professional. The work was completed on-time and for the estimated cost. The work seemed to be done very well but, admittedly, I am not an expert in the area to really know. An indication of their professionalism, however, came when we got drywall repair estimates after Dry Effect finished their work. Kris and Kyle cut out drywall from the floor up to two feet above the floor in several areas. When giving their repair estimates, more than one drywall contractor commented on what a nice job Dry Effect had done - their cuts were straight and uniformly accurate - a situation that would make the drywall repair job easier but that was apparently not always the situation with other mold remediation companies. I know that seems like a small thing, but it was good to know that they had been careful with that aspect of their work, and I can only assume that it extended to all aspects of the job. Though I don't want to need their services again, I would definitely use them again in a similar situation. read more
