It's funny how a NON beer drinker winds up in so many breweries. Now it's not that I won't taste along the way, but I just can't drink that much beer. I was a beer drinker when I was young, I think I just got my fill for a while. I like Dry Dock for many reasons, One of which is they brew their own Root Beer. Yes, I may not be a beer drinker but I do like a good Root Beer and they certainly have one. It's dark, but creamy and smooth and not overly carbonated. The seating is very casual; sit where you want who cares. Go to your favorite take out place or bring dinner from home and sit and drink the hours away. Even bring a board game along if you want. I have seen people walk in with crock pots, 6 foot subs and a dozen pizzas. A few of the neighborhood places will even deliver there to you. When I first went in I was very thrown at the whole idea, but as I have continued to visit I kinda like the whole idea. It can get a bit loud with everyone, but you can meet some really great people as well. If you want a fun hang out kinda place, I would highly recommend a stop in. Oh yeah.. I visited Dry Dock (South Dock) for a party and it was great! I know a few people had to get to the brewery a bit early to get a table (I don't believe they take reservations for a party of that size), but once we had one table, it was perfect for our group which was more of an open house than a party. I had the Hop Abomination and it was great! I'm a fan of IPA's and this had a lot of flavor and hoppy notes. The coffee stout was also very good! I love coffee, so I'm a fan of the coffee flavors in my dark beer! People were able to sit and chat, mingle, or play shuffleboard. The bartender also served us, which is a nice addition for a brewery as not all breweries have table service. The bartenders and staff were all very attentive and friendly for our loud, large group. :) This space is also good for kiddos as well! **There is no food at this location, although it is connected to a strip mall with a few options** I went home a bit early because I was a bit under the weather and none of the food in the strip mall sounded overly appetizing. A few of the party people went to the gyro place and they said it was okay. The brewery does have a book of menus, but it wasn't the best weather and we didn't want to make anybody deliver in the snow. read more

My husband and I came to Denver to visit family and attend a good friend's wedding. It was a shirt, whirlwind trip. But there were a couple things we wanted to cross off of our traveller's bucket list. Every place we visit, we find at least one brewery. We thought we'd crossed that one off yesterday but when a lunch date with another friend brought us to the neighborhood and we had time to kill, we're stopped in for a quick flight. I'm seriously glad we did. The gentleman behind the counter as we walked in was friendly and cordial. He got us started on our flight and answered the couple questions we had. The beer itself surprised me. I am both usually a beer drinker. It's a rare day indeed when I pick a beer off a list or menu and finish the whole thing. But of our 6 beers, I would genuinely order and drink 4 of them again. The Sour, the Apricot Blonde, the Amber, and the Pumpkin they had on tap today were all to my liking. As we live out of state in Ohio, I can't just swing back by any old time I like. So I seriously contemplated grabbing a case to take home as another piece of luggage. Dry Dock. I attended a Meetup event in their classroom - for winemaking. It was a Saturday afternoon, and parking always a bit of a challenge to find (they were busy). The space was pretty cool. Lots of windows, and I noted a covered outdoor patio with lots of seating (and it's dog friendly!) The classroom was large, and couple have easily accommodated double our group size (we were roughly 15 that day). Our instructor was thorough and encouraged our participation - both in helping make some wine, and also drinking some previously bottled options. I thought it was interesting a place that doesn't sell wine offered kits to make it, and even classes, but then realized the back of the classroom opened into their adjoining store that sells all sorts of brewing supplies. Easily the best brewery in Aurora! One of the top in the greater Denver area. At this location they brew most of their specialty styles so there is always something interesting on tap. One of the greatest things about breweries is the passion and personalities of the wonderful people that work there; Dry Docks is no exception. You'll be happy you met these local beer experts. Some things to note; they don't have a kitchen to make food but your welcome to bring your favorite dish in or even order delivery to the establishment. Late in the spring when the showers overtake Colorado there are few breweries as cozy as Dry Dock. Just a short drive off parker this brewery is easy to overlook buried in a nondescript strip mall. Should you make the journey you will be rewarded with a wonderful selection of tasty beers and an atmosphere that is light and inviting. Upon entry you will see the bar where Dry Dock keeps an average of 12 to 14 beers on draft to choose from. This allows you to feel secure that you will find a beer to match the various tastes of your party. From there you may sit in the high stool benches at the bat and take in the sights or around the corner in Dry Dock's spacious main sitting area. Here you will find normal height tables as well as a shuffleboard table and a couch. You will also find the bar is attached to a homebrew store and a classroom so this is a wonderful opportunity to grab those hops and a tasty drink. All told the real magic of this place is the beer. The Apricot Blonde is a tent pole of the brewery and they manage to deliver amazing beer season after season. I highly encourage everybody who loves beer to give this place a try and enjoy one of the more amazing colorado native breweries. They are growler/keg friendly. read more

Love the Free Popcorn and usually a menu is on the table for I think a restaurant near by or a food truck. Its easy to hear your friend and hold a conversation. You should NEVER miss a trip to the Aurora, Denver, or the Colorado Rocky Mts without at least one trip to Dry Dock. Dry Dock is a great little brewery with a unique perspective on what makes a really good beer. My favorite is still the Vanilla Porter, but the Apricot Blonde will make you a believer! A few years ago I had a green chili (?) brew at Dry Dock that had a real bite to it. Dry Dock still doesn't serve food (well, except for a popcorn machine), but they have no problem with customers bringing in their own food - pizza, Chinese, birthday cake, or whatever! And, of course, they have a beer flavor that goes with everything! Someday, perhaps, they will partner with a really great chef and create a "Ship's Galley." I would love to see a brewery menu of tidbits created with their beers or one that accompanies the wide range of great flavors. California dreaming, but perhaps . . . someday? Little brewery in a strip mall in Aurora? Save your skepticism! This beer is legit. With new varieties always being added, this delightfully-fresh beer will fill you up with both hops & happiness. They work around long community-style tables, so be prepared to chat with your neighbor (awkwardly, or not). They've also got quite a bit of patio space, about half of which is heated! The staff was surprisingly patient and polite with me for a busy Saturday night visit - even let me try a taster of their Imperial Pumpkin before purchase (now that's a strong one!). Ok, we went last night (darn it, I didn't check in!) and it was great! No beer snob attitude from behind the bar. Our waitress/bartender was the sweetest girl. The Trippel was awesome, the Malted Milk Stout was awesome, and the Vanilla Porter was awesome, as always! Really good beer, one of the best breweries I've been to. I highly recommend the Apricot Blonde or the Chocolate Stout. The atmosphere is nice with the rough-edged sawmill tables and benches and the barrels stacked up everywhere. We go from time to time for Trivia on Wednesday nights and that gets pretty loud and crowded but you still won't have trouble finding a seat as long as you're okay sharing a table with strangers. This being a brewery, not a bar, they don't serve any food at all and the non-alcoholic offerings are pretty sparse. They've got a self-serve popcorn machine and water cooler though and they're cool with people bringing in outside food so that's not a big deal. They'll even provide you with a stack of menus from places that will deliver if you've come unprepared (Wing Hut is across the street and deliver;, you seriously owe it to yourself to try that chicken!!). Also, the place has a surprising number of kids running around given that all they sell is beer, and they do last call around 9-10 pm so the place is very family friendly. Pretty much the only downside of Dry Dock is that the parking is terrible when they get busy, so be sure to bring good shoes in case you have to hoof it to the front door! read more

Another great Denver Brewery. I finally visited the brewery after first trying their pours at the 2015 Great American Beer Fest. After returning for festival this year, I made a point to stop by. Across 4 days, they offered daily special GABF tappings. During my first 2 visits I tried the Turkish Delight (apricot sour), the Double Vanilla Porter, Docktoberfest, Strong Scotch Ale, and Czars Revenge. Each pour was better than the next. Just incredible. The South Dock location also has a top notch Homebrew Supply store, with a very nice grain selection. They also offer great brewing courses & yoga classes in addition to other events. read more

We love Dry Dock. Their servers are very helpful at selecting beers that fit your palette. The samplers are a very reasonable price, so you can try several before committing to your favorite flavor. They have fantastic beers and lots of options for all tastes - from soft and light, to really hoppy and bold. Their Apricot Blonde is one of my favorite beers, I even purchase it at several area liquor stores as it's always a crowd favorite at BBQs. Their Vanilla Porter is a bit strong for my taste, meaning it's not as frothy malty as some that I've had, but it's still pretty dang tasty. Another great one to try is the Saisson. They don't serve food, but they do provide a menu book with listings for local food joints that will deliver right to your table at the brewery. I haven't made it to the North location yet, but I"m sure it will be just as great as the south. read more

We recently had our reception dinner hosted at Dry Dock and I can't say enough positive things about the experience. Everything was perfect when we arrived, the room was spacious and a great size for our party of 17. There was room for our catered food, they provided us with extra plates when we fell short and the service was top notch. Everyone who wanted a drink had one promptly. Glasses were cleared quickly, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I HIGHLY recommend utilizing their party spaces if you have an upcoming event, it was all also extremely affordable. Overall a fantastic experience! Negative experience. Came for the last stamp on my Aurora Beer passport. Went to three local breweries and they all had no problem stamping my book, even if all I got was a $2 taster. Coming here, the bartender gave me attitude as soon as I mentioned the book. He wouldn't stamp both books. I straight up said I was disappointed in such a popular brewery. The stamp program is meant to be a fun way to explore local breweries. It doesn't cost Dry Dock anything to take part. I would skip here and visit the more fun other breweries in Aurora in the future. read more

This is my first time here and have to say I was pleasantly amazed. The Paragon Apricot Blonde (5.1) is so good I could drink way too many! It is so smooth and fruity! The Munich Drunkel (5.2) is great too its a little salty but great. My boyfriend swears by the Dry Dock Double IPA (9%). I have to say I love the Barrel Aged Shotgun Stout (10%) it is so good! They had this awesome wing place come in and made it a perfect night! Nothing better than wings and beer! This place was super packed for a Monday so get in early for seating! Another great quality is you can also bring in your own food! The ladies bathroom was spotless. Also, the wait staff was really nice and informative. This was our first brewery stop while on vaca and it was great! I enjoyed the flight presentation and, even though I wasn't drinking any alcohol that night, everyone else really enjoyed their brews. Our server was super nice and offered me their house made root beer. At first I declined, then slapped myself and accepted his offer. I am so glad I did, it was so good. As my husband home-brews and we live close to Dry Dock - we frequent it often. If you're a home-brewer - this is the one of the best shops in Denver. The tasting room side of everything is much better now that they've done an expansion (and they added shuffleboard!). I love Dry Dock. They are a great little brewery off of Chambers and Hampden in Aurora. My favorite is the Hefeweissen, but their seasonal pumpkin beer is pretty awesome too. They don't serve food, just beer and popcorn. Awesome service, always very friendly. As other reviewers have said, it's kind of off in BFE (Aurora). But I happen to live in BFE, so no big deal for me! If it's far for you, just make sure to grab a couple of growlers so you can take some home with you. I stopped in to pick up a "Growler" of the Second Base Brown. This place is always popular, and it is easy to see why. Pretty much everything made here is an excellent craft beer. Dry Dock is similar to Elk Mountain in Parker, or Lone Tree Brewing in Lone Tree . . . but it is bigger and has been around longer. Their beer is some of the best. This is a working brewery, and you can sit at the bar and watch them making beer through the glass window. Mike our server was very knowledgeable and helpful when telling us of their tap offerings. The hefe weisen is one of the best I have ever had. It has a hint of banana because the yeast they use, and I love that! A regular pint is only $4. That is a great price. The have free popcorn too! Dry Dock was rockin' this past Friday night! It was my first time at the brewery even though I've had their beer numerous times. Even with the ton of people hanging out the service at the bar to get my growler filled was very quick. And if you aren't quite sure what you want to order they'll give you a taster if you ask. The Lime Wheat was interesting, and I'd probably drink it again. The "Apri'Hot Blonde" is the "Apricot Blonde" but made with Habanero Peppers. It starts off refreshing and then zings you with a fair amount of heat. I almost got that in my growler, but opted for the Apricot Blonde. Figured more people would prefer that at the party I was headed to. Plus it just can't be beat. read more

One of the best breweries we visited in Denver! It is hidden away in Aurora, but it's definitely worth searching out. All their beers were unique, and we loved the really wide selection. The saison and belgium inspired beers are a personal favorite, and we liked the President's Day inspired brew with sorghum. Free popcorn is an added bonus since you never want to level after just 1 pint. The story of the place is pretty inspirational as well - we read the articles on the wall talking about how the owner started out really young and had this place opened by his late-20s...pretty cool to see passion result in really great quality beers.
