I have used Druziako HVAC for over 25 years on multiple houses and have never once had an issue with service or communication. I had wanted to contract Nick Druziako to do ductwork at my house. It was a subcontract from another firm Gemini Heating and Cooling. So I assembled a contract using a Massachusetts template contract. In the contract I stated the scope of work, amount owed and the payment schedule in 6 payments with the last payment to be paid after city inspection. The owner, Nick Druziako first insisted that he can't wait until final inspection to be paid even though that is the proper way to do this. I eventually consented to his proposed payment schedule. Next he insisted that I sign his "contract" which was not a contract but an estimate even titled as such -- with a list description of the covered scope but written in poorly formed text and even misspelling the customer's name incorrectly. I told him that we needed to sign a real contract. But he insisted that an estimate is sufficient. Eventually he and his partner decided to bail but after collecting $700 from me for a manual J calculation that cost them $2 to do. They Insisted that the payment schedule was too complicated even though it was exactly what they proposed. If you do business with this company definitely ask or provide a formal contract. Based on other reviews here they definitely are going to just walk away once they collect their money. Don't believe the talk about "long term customers". Wanting a huge down payment deposit without a contract is definitely a red flag. Edit: Nick complains that the contract says that the client can walk out at any time. But the actual contract says both parties can end it. Since the deposits are significant the contractor can actually walk away with money without doing any work. Had Nick actually read the contract. It basically states that if the contractor abandons the job before work is done then they need to refund back the extra deposit already paid. The issue here is they never looked at the contract seriously. If they can't even read a simple templated contract they may not be competent enough to install HVAC -- which is very technical. read more

If you live in a condo, have roof access, or have ladder access to your HVAC equipment, Druziako isn't the company for you. These guys listened to my needs, the site conditions, and then scheduled an appointment to come out. On the day of the appointment Ed, the estimator, called me in the middle of my 8am to 10am window to tell me he couldn't make it. Excuses ranged from his guy wasn't available, to he can't climb a ladder because of his bad back. Told me to call to reschedule. Called twice, no call back. Finally called a third time later that day and got someone, was told they "don't do commercial work" and was offered a referral. Huge waste of time work with them and I absolutely would not recommend them if you live in the Lowell area. They were not apologetic in the least, and clearly they're not interested in working above the first floor. read more

They installed a mini split a couple of years ago. It has never worked properly. They've been out many times to recharge the unit, and have many times thought they've found the source of the problem. Now it's a new season, and once again the unit is empty and producing no cold air. They sent out a guy who came to recharge the unit, but not to figure out why it leaked, saying, "I don't have time for that today." So they're charging me to do nothing useful. Druziako installed a mini split system for us a few months ago in a new addition so we thought we would use them for our heating needs. Our forced air heating system just stopped working so we called for diagnostic and repair. Tech tried a few troubleshooting ideas even went and got a new heat exchanger. It did not work. Tech ignored the fact that when the panel was open, the system seemed to work. Once it was closed up, it shut down. Said it was very old (17 years) and would be best to replace. We called a friend/company to have them look as we wanted to be sure that we really had to replace the whole system. He found the same situation with airflow. Ended up removing the intake pipe and found a huge leaf blocking the intake causing the system to shut down. Problem solved. Druziako would have had us spend $12k to replace the system. So glad we got a second opinion. Giving 2 stars because they were responsive and courteous, however they need to make sure their techs are adequately trained before sending them off in the field on their own. read more

We hired them to replace our AC and furnace back in March. Their technician that knows how to install the nest thermostat was unavailable, and then got COVID, so we waited until June to have our nest thermostat installed again (no big deal). After they came to install the nest we noticed our AC was no longer working, so we called them back to fix the wiring. Now that it is getting cold again, we realized our heat is not working now, so we called them back to fix the wiring for the heat. They have been very unresponsive, do not show up on time, or don't show up at all when they say they will. Save yourself the hassle and no don't hire them! read more

Installed a central air conditioning system in our home four years ago. System started having issues two years after install. Multiple calls made for the same issue. Each time we were told the lproblem was taken care. A few weeks later the a/c wasn't cooling - same issue. Understand that each time we were also getting charged. We found another contractor to come and assess the whole system and get us back up and running. We were enlightened very thoroughly on why we were having the problems. The bottom line is that the issues we were having with our system was due to the lack of pride in workmanship, experience and expertise and also lack of respect for us-the paying end-user! I wouldn't even give it one star but it seems I have NO choice. I got an estimate from the owner who seemed rather knowledgeable and I was told he treats his customers like family & if there was ever a problem to just call. a contract was written up stating everything that would be done. I had a new furnace and AC installed. Two day job and on the second day after wrapping up I noticed a vent that was supposed to be removed wasn't. I questioned the worker & was told they couldn't do it however that wasn't what was discussed during the walk through. Tried getting in touch with the owner, n/a. With a fear that this contract wouldn't be fulfilled I stopped payment on the final check. Once the owner realized the payment had been stopped is when we received the call, NOT because he wanted to call to apologize the work wasn't completed or that we were upset. The call was ALL about the $$$$ which at this point was very disappointing & infuriating. He sent his worker out to complete the work, but he kept on telling us he didn't understand why we would stop payment on something so small. He couldn't understand who does that. Hearing that made me feel as if he could care less about the type of work his company does, and more importantly doesn't care about how the customer feels. We had this done in February. A few weeks ago when the temp upstairs on the 2nd level was rather warm we decided to turn on the AC before bed to get it cooled off. We woke up in the middle of the night and the temp didn't change. So, as advised by the worker if there is ever a problem just call the number on the thermostat. I had assumed I would have reached an after hours voicemail so I could let them know what was going on so that in the morning I would get a call so we could get this looked at. The owner answered the phone, wasn't happy I was calling, I explained what was going on and apologized because I didn't know this number on his thermostat would go to his cell phone. He said he would call in the morning and hung up. The next morning came about 10:45 still no call so I called him. He told me he had forgotten to call me. I told him at this point after all that has happened I'm feeling very frustrated dealing with his company. He told me he didn't understand why, didn't understand why I stopped payment on the check, didn't understand why I called the # on his thermostat and told me his company doesn't do half ass work. He said he would try and find someone to come out and would call me back to let me know. I got a call from someone telling me they will be at my house within 10 minutes. The owner never called me back to even ask me if it would be okay if his worker came at that time. I called the owner but reached his voicemail. The worker arrived and discovered the problem was during the initial install they never corrected the wires for the AC unit. ( I guess this isn't considered half ass work?) The owner called me back while his worker was here and asked me what I had wanted. I told him what I had wanted was a call from him as HE promised to let me know someone was coming out at a specific time and what I would have appreciated was to be dealing with a company who actually cared about their customer instead of being rude, confrontational and argumentative. The owner never even called after his worker left to discuss the reason why the AC wasn't working. Needless to say I will be looking elsewhere for a company to handle my maintenance work. read more

It was 5:00pm on New Years Eve and I was moving cross country in mere hours and just had my final inspection for selling the house. During the inspection a couple things came up regarding my furnace, humidifier, and some other stuff and they had to be completed for my house to sell. I called Druziako and sons in hopes that they could maybe get someone out to the house after the new year. Not only did they answer (come on, it was 5pm on NYE!) they were able to get someone to my house immediately who knew exactly what he was doing, what was wrong, how to fix it, and what else I should be aware of. If I could give them less than one star, I would. They charged me an hourly rate of $150 and failed to diagnose the problem I specifically described to them. A leaking steam radiator. Two guys came out and one talked too much, trying to educate the other guy (apprentice?) on my dime, meanwhile nothing was fixed. Nada. For $150/hour. They said they needed to come back with the parts because they don't carry vents on the truck. I called the boss to complain. Let's just say - don't hire them for steam. The boss suggesting taking apart my boiler and all sorts of stuff, instead of addressing the fact that one room was throwing out loads of leaking steam enough to shut my system down up to three times per week and making it impossible to sleep in that room because it was so loud! I'm furious. I tried to stop payment on the check but it was too late. read more

Nick and company replaced my furnace and installed central AC at my home this winter. The team was excellent. They descended on my house and had the new furnace up and running in a day. I spent a fair amount of time obsessing over where the new returns would go, and Nick's guys not only understood and shared my obsession, but came back and moved one at no charge when it became clear that I had picked the wrong spot. Nick quoted me based on a furnace model that was no longer available, and didn't hit me for an upcharge when he had to go to the next higher model. Nick was referred by a friend and I would recommend him to anyone. read more

Home Owner beware! Had a $10,000 system installed in our house and due to poor workmanship had to have many service calls. This guy wanted to charge us for every call made back to our home even though issues were because of the poor quality work!!! Had them install a water heater, furnace and central ac. Went through Mass Save and they filled out all the paper work on rebates. NO issues at all. Great quality work. They came when they said they would and I needed a couple vents readjusted after I installed a drop ceiling and they came right back out at no charge. Great people and great work.
