Their guy came in and wouldn't even look to see what was wrong with my unit. They immediately told me that I needed a new system and quoted me an outrageous price. They told me that they needed to rip out all my walls to put it in. I wanted to get a second opinion, so I put a request through yelp. Dan, the owner of Max, emailed me within an hour with his cell number. Stacey, the office manager, called me first thing the next morning and sent out Joseph, who did a careful analysis of my system. It did need to be replaced. Paulo came out and did an outstanding installation, over 3 days, staying late on a Friday night to complete it. My walls were all kept intact. Had an absolutely amazing experience with Max Heating and Cooling! My old steam boiler developed a cracked heat exchanger, and Max Heating was prompt, informative, and willing to do the replacement during the New Year holiday. Dan and Sam have been stand-out with the depth of their answers to my questions. I appreciate that immensely as a demonstration of how much they care about the subject matter, and how much they care about ensuring I'm properly informed on what is happening. Sam and his crew were out all day yesterday dismantling the old boiler and installing the new one. They were friendly and engaged the whole time letting me observe the process. Sam called me over throughout to show me up close what had corroded in my old boiler, and to explain to me how it happened. He did the same during install of the new boiler to demonstrate all the critical aspects for maintenance--including letting me unscrew and rescrew a piece to practice for future cleaning. The new boiler is running smoothly right now. I feel like I understand its pieces. Sam even took an interest in diagnosing why my bathroom heating panel (which has never worked) wasn't heating. He cleaned out its vent and it has heat now. My cat is very happy to be warm right now. From the way Sam and his crew talked through all the aspects of the work they were doing, it was clear they take pride in the quality of the work. This wasn't just a job to get over and done with. I would give MAX 6 stars if I could! Our central AC died at 1am on one of the hotest nights of the summer. The next morning I started calling a few places to see if they could help. I was brushed off, delayed, and ignored by all EXCEPT FOR MAX! They sent out two of the techs and within a few hours had my AC running again. If you need to replace your aging HVAC system, look no further than Max Heating and Cooling. These guys are the real deal. Dan's appraisal of the work needed and his estimate was clear and straightforward. The job was not going to be easy, my air handler was built into my bathroom ceiling, requiring partial removal of the ceiling, but Dan said he would send out his best guys and get the job done. The job took three days and I honestly gotta say that I felt like I was saying goodbye to two new friends when Brandon and Joe cleaned up the bathroom and headed out the door. They did a great job and when I texted Dan a couple days later to say that I had noticed a very slight, but annoyingly audible whistling coming from my duct work I had Brandon and Joe at my door two hours later. To fix the noise, Brandon rewired the air handler to run on low, instead of high, and the problem was solved. Cool air now flows out of the duct work with barely a sound. Great experience with MAX heating and cooling after my Nest stopped working. I put in a Yelp request and I got a response very quickly. I was able to get an appointment that worked with my schedule. Shane was my technician and was courteous, on time, and pleasant. He diagnosed the problem in a minute (definitely knew his stuff) and fixed in a few minutes. He stayed a little extra to make sure I could get my thermostat up and running, and showed me the connections to my indoor unit so I'd understand. Central AC unit for upstairs was blowing plain air. Got a an early appointment for 8am - 9am arrival and our technician, Shane was there on time. He took time to explain what he was checking and was able to diagnose the issue with our aging unit quickly as not only a leak but a blockage which he sorted out. These guys did a great job. I had another company come in a few days earlier because Max Heating and cooling was not available but their tech said I am not even going to touch this system you should just replace it. He gave me a crazy high quote to replace and never sent and actual quote. So Shane from Max heating and cooling arrived on time and went right to looking at the furnace Which I had believed was mis-wired by the company that replaced a control board for the AC in the summer( that company apparently didnot test the heat then and would not even answer the phone or return calls now) After going through some tests and consulting someone else Shane thought it was a possible problem with the bard or mis-wired but he needed the schematic and possible other parts he didn't have and supply houses were closed. So the next day Shane came back with Sam(senior tech)_. Sam took his time and went through the wiring diagram and confirmed what I thought that the previous company. So he took the time and got it wired correctly this time. They did a great job at a fair price and I would definitely use them again read more
