The sign is ironic - the beer is cold and the food is Yum and they have really good service! It was my first time and Chloe was so welcoming and made some great menu recommendations. We loved the Philly and the Buffalo Chicken Dip! 10/10 we will be back! read more

There is a large covered patio with fans, TVs and an outdoor bar. There are also picnic tables and a large stage for live music. Inside there is another bar and a few tables, with a completely different vibe. Our sever was named Venessa and she was very friendly and attentive. We had corn fritters for an appetizer. Everyone loved their food and the portion sizes were good. Prices are reasonable. They have a full bar. They charge a fee for using credit cards. Highly recommend this place read more

Been a while and decided to give the Mullet another chance. Solid food lately and great service. My wife had a chicken salad said it was one of the best she's had. I had the meatball parm sub which was also good. Couple weeks ago had the pizza and it was okay, but I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza. I think a normal pie might be the way to go. read more

Food, service, and ambience were all excellent! We visited after Hurricane Helene and their dryer was out. The drinks were frequently filled. Outdoor dining was casual and refreshing. Our food was wonderful! I had almond crusted halibut with rice pilaf and broccoli. It was enough for 1.5 meals and was delicious! My teenagers seemed to enjoy the place as well--bonus. The employees were very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to returning! read more

Fun dive bar near the river. Great service. Awesome shrimp, scallop scampi with linguini, entertaining music. Parking gets tight. IPA beer choices limited. Went back twice! read more

I stopped here on my way home from Crystal River. So glad I did! What a cool place...I sat at the outdoor bar and had a nice view of the water. The bartender (sorry can't remember her name!) was super nice as well. The highlight of my visit - the mussels. Wow, I've been in FL for 10 years and these are honestly the best one's I've had I was too busy stuffing my face and dipping the bread in the delicious sauce to take a pic. But, I plan on going back sooner than later and will add a pic when I do! read more

We had the mussels and the Philly cheesesteak. Both were excellent. Service was a little slow, but the food was delicious

We've been here before a few times and had no issues, great food and drinks. Today was unfortunately not good. We ordered a mullet dip and I will say it was good, unfortunately there was a long black hair in it. We let the waitress know and she just said "Do you want another one?" No apology, no offer to take it off the bill, nada. Also, I ordered my mussels with pasta, no pasta. Yet we got charged for it. Waitress wasn't the friendliest. read more

We were in town visiting family and stopped by for lunch with our toddlers. The atmosphere, staff and food were fantastic!! LOVE this place!!! For starters our server, Loretta, was top notch! Honestly I eat out a lot and our experiences dining out in Florida haven't been great. But Loretta was so cheerful and friendly as well as really attentive throughout our meal to the end! Often we eat and then have to wait more than 20 minutes to get the check but she was quick and helpful. Plus her recommendations were also good. Her customer service was above and beyond most servers. All the food was soooo delicious! We really loved the sauce in the mussels which tasted clean and fresh. The butter smash burger my husband got was delicious. My meatballs and pizza were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Being on vacation this place provided a nice casual atmosphere with a great view, spacious outdoor seating, great food, funny sense of humor, and overall a great experience at this wonderful restaurant. Loretta really made our good experience great! You must check it out for a well-priced meal!! read more

Beautiful disaster or glorious train wreck would describe Drunken Mullet adequately. Hey they warn you before you walk in by the huge sign you can see over the door that says "Warm Beer and Lousy Food." I can't speak about the beer and the food wasn't too lousy. But the one thing that the sign should warn you about is how awful the service is. Good thing there are several other things to keep you entertained for a while. The Drunken Mullet has an open air bar and tables with a small beach on the canal. There is live music and room for a dance floor. TVs are everywhere. This is a perfect bar hangout for Florida for friends or new drunk friends. For food choices, there is a mix of wings, sandwiches, pizza, and seafood. I went with the wings with some interesting sauce choices. First of all, there was Spicy slaw which tastes like the slaw vinegarette without the crunchiness of the cabbage. Mike's Mustard looked dry at first but the mustard was present there. The other flavor was Cajun and it tasted like crab boil. And now for that matter of service, it was awful. The waitress was drunk or high and needs organization skills. She brought my friends a pitcher of beer then did not come back and take our order. After 20 minutes, I went to the hostess and asked her to be our waitress and said she would come take our order. She also said the other waitress had stepped out. REALLY? I have been sitting there 20 damn minutes for you to come back and take my order and you think it's time for a break? When she did come back, she started rubbing her hand on my back and being flirty with me. How about doing your job or just apologizing? Then after our order was taken, we didn't get our food until at least 45 minutes later. I also asked her to replace my tea with just water because the tea was that abomination known as Gold Peak and she didn't do it and gave me a hard time about it when my patience had already worn thin. Good thing she put us all on the same ticket because her tip would have reflected her performance as almost non-existent. Despite the awful waitress, I really had a good time at Drunken Mullet and if I had a capable waitress, I would be happy to return for a good time. read more

We were in town for a week on the river. We brought our dog and was happy to see an outdoor pet friendly area around back with picnic tables on the water. The service was excellent! Pleasantly surprised with the food and drinks even though we assumed the "Warm beer, lousy food" slogan above the door was tongue-in-cheek. The beer was on ice and they had two good local brews, Big Nose IPA and ZFG by Hidden Springs, a refreshing beer with a strong citra hops taste. The smoked fish dip, homemade with Amber jack and mullet, was excellent. The diced onions, jalapeños, olives, tomatoes, lettuce etc made it eat more like a meal. The Eggplant Tower with fried eggplant and cheese was excellent also. Very interesting menu. The smoked mullet meal - the whole fish - is done in their very own smoker. Unfortunately, we'd had a late lunch and were too full to try it. The bartenders were very attentive and seemed like they are in the habit of keeping the bar very clean. The folks around the bar were all local regulars. We'll definitely stop back whenever we're in the area. read more

We came in around 1:30 on a Thursday and it was super busy. I think there was only one server on but she rocked it. I can't remember her name but her daughter also works there and she's been there about a year. We LOVED her. She greeted us right away and sat us at the best table, closest to the water. Which I loved because we were on our honeymoon and it just made the whole experience even better. We ordered a bucket of Stella, a lb of steamed shrimp, and an order of wings. Everything was phenomenal!! Best wings I've had in a long time! 10/10 recommend. read more

Their tag line "warm beer, lousy food" is hilarious. Their beer is cold and the food was awesome. Don't come here if you're on a diet. Alcohol has tons of calories. If you're not on a diet, I'd recommend any one of their pizzas, the drunken mussels, and stuffed mushrooms. The portions are HUGE and the drinks are spot on! Why not 5 stars? The first time we got there, we sat at the bar for 18 minutes before the bartender stopped to see if we wanted something. It wasn't packed and she attended to a couple of other people who sat down after us. Oh, and they don't have pineapples for pizza. But that's okay, it's like not liking ketchup on hot dogs. read more

Wonderful service! I've lived in the area since 2007, and this was my first time here. My server was Lisa, and she did fantastic! She was very friendly, even when my mom said she wanted to change tables, she didn't even hesitate a second to do that. We were there just to watch the band and have a couple of drinks, but we had a lot of fun. The band was great, service was excellent, and I loved the atmosphere- although I came home smelling like smoke from the people around smoking. I would go back, for sure. read more

We came here with teens and parents and seniors. We had. Place to sit immediately, it was a Monday night. Our server was excellent...didn't get her name. We ordered off the apps menu, lots of stuff: Wings: three kinds, the blackened were very good, the garlic parm also good. They weren't wet, my only complaint. Honey BBQ we're wet and very good. Nachos: kids said "amazing!", lots of cheese and they ate them all. Eggplant tower: I loved it, similar to lasagna, really good! Drunken mussels: least favorite, they were ok but half of them weren't open so.... All in all - we'd come back for food, it's pretty good!! read more

Service was horrible. We arrived with five people, there was maybe four other people in the bar (2pm on. a Monday). It took over 10 minutes to get drinks. Celebrating a friend's birthday, I was pleasantly surprised by the menu. I chose an Eggplant Tower, half-pound of pell-n-eat shrimp, and hubby chose wings. We shared the shrimp, which was prepared with Old Bay seasoning and chopped garlic, and had the best cocktail sauce on the side. The eggplant was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed it greatly. Hubby shared one of his wings and it was so good I helped myself to another. He said that the wings were the best he's had since moving to the west coast. Prices were what we expected, and drinks are moderately priced as well. We saw a platter of nachos being served to another table and we have to post a warning. DO NOT ORDER unless you have a big appetite!! Enough to feed three people! Entertainment started at 6:30, but you need to arrive at least an hour before to attempt to get a seat. The view from the back patio is of a large lake area that has hiking and walking trails, accessible from down the road. We will return - need to get more wings! read more

Since the Drunken Mullet has been sold to new owners the place has totally gone down the tubes When John owned it great place to hang out have a few drinks order some food, Now the bartenders are oblivious to a customer when they sit down at the bar Takes them forever to realize that you are even there because they are too busy chatting with their buddies Such a shame that a once great place will most likely go under One other thing the beer is never cold anymore read more
