Nice pub. Friendly people. Good prices both on the menu and at the bar. Next time I'd go for the beer, but eat before or after. Had the taco's and regretted it. It was more the chefs "take" on tacos then what a taco really is. Pulled pork tacos had barbecue sauce on them that tasted like a sauce out of the bottle. All I could taste. Pork carnitas taco was covered in an aioli sauce.... again, couldn't taste the meat. raw chopped cabbage is used instead of lettuce. No taste of cilantro, the salsa tasted like Pace with a little corn tossed in for good measure. Again, nice people there. Nice atmosphere. Good prices. Just not my cup of tea. read more

Nothing positive about our experience except where this place is located. First, the waiter was so quiet and mumbled and wouldn't speak up so I had to repeat everything he said to my wife so she could understand him, and it was still hard for me to catch what he said. Next another waiter brought my wife's food to another table, the people sent it back but it took me asking the waiter if our food was ready yet for him to go check on our food. My burger and her mahi mahi tacos were both cold upon delivery and the burger was not cooked as ordered (cheese wasn't even slightly melted and cooked through instead of medium). We told him her food came out cold, he claimed he rushed a fresh order but just ran it through the warmer. To boot the tacos were not quality fish tacos which was odd because most of the reviews on here are about how good their tacos are. Overall really bothered that they would lie about giving us a fresh order and would attempt to re-serve food that someone else had, pretty unsanitary by US standards. I guess a plus is the alcohol was cheap. read more

Best chicken fingers I've ever put in my mouth. Bartender was great. Prices a little high ($13 for the chicken tenders) but that's to be expected in the Village. It's small, seating is limited, making for a tight squeeze when crowded. But a definite must-eat and/or drink joint when in Pinehurst. read more

Love this place. Owner has obviously traveled and knows how to create a great experience. Feels like a cool bar in SF or a cozy pub in Scotland/Ireland. Food is classic with modern preparation. Chef knows what he is doing. Service is usually friendly and usually swift. read more

I wasn't really sure what to expect since the area doesn't really have that many good quality pubs, but I was really impressed! I love the atmosphere--both the decor and the servers were very welcoming, and I love the books that line the cubby seats. It does have a very "Cheers" element in that both the other patrons as well as the staff seemed very friendly and personable. The draft options weren't huge, but they had a decent variety, including a Southern Pines IPA that was a winner. The food was excellent, higher quality than your average 'bar food,' and reasonably priced. I especially appreciated that they had a small vegetarian section on the menu, which again is somewhat unusual for a pub. I will definitely be coming here again in the near future, especially since they have a small patio area that's perfect for people-watching. read more

Went on Wednesday with my wife to try out for the first time. Overall, they are on the right track. The place has a well-thought out menu without being an anthology. My wife tried the pomegranate martini and I tried the dark and stormy. They were both delish. For dinner my wife tried the chop salad and I tried the fish tacos by recommendation from our server. The chop salad was by far one of the best presentation and combination of ingredients ever. Black eyed peas and fried onions hit it off perfectly. The fish tacos were as good as any other I've tried and had a nice balance of slaw, sauce, and firm fish. Overall, a good experience. read more

Very nice bar ! We arrived on Friday and they had a great girl on the violin. We came back for lunch on Sunday for football and the bartender was awful.... slow... more interested in the games then in service. I would say stay away on Sunday. read more

We walked in here thinking it was the Darling House Pub (I think that was the name of it). I had eaten at the Darling House a few times and it was a decent place for lunch. The menu is very small and limited compared to the previous menu. If you're going to have a small menu, make sure everything on that menu is great! Nothing really looked appealing but we were starving. I overheard the waiter mention that they had run out of something the night before. (Any good restaurant would restock before opening the next day.) Our service was ok. I can't tell you how much I enjoy asking for a napkin after the food has arrived and I have sauce running out of my mouth. My husband and I ordered burgers. He had one on the menu and I had the special. They were both served on English muffins. I understand that they're trying to maintain the Scottish theme but it wasn't good. My husband will eat anything so he didn't mind but I didn't finish mine. I ordered mine medium but came out closer to well done. It also tasted like it was grilled on a grill that hadn't been cleaned in awhile. If you're looking for a place to get some drinks, this is that place. Just don't order any food! If they don't make improvements soon, this place will not last. It's located in the village of Pinehurst and is a great place for some drinks after a good golf game but that's it. read more
