Her knowledge of bourbon is simply phenomenal, but what made the tour truly memorable was the passion she has for sharing the story of Brad and Jess Halling, their vision for BHAWK, and their deep love and gratitude for Southern Pines, our service members and their families, and the entire Moore County community. Every part of our visit reflected that mission--from the warm hospitality to the outstanding food, exceptional handcrafted spirits, and welcoming atmosphere. And then there's the gift shop... let's just say we couldn't resist! We came home with bottles of Sergeant's Valor, the special Sergeant's Valor Christmas Blend, Madame Colonel Pistachio Bourbon Cream, Madame Colonel Gin, several BHAWK T-shirts, and beautiful bourbon glasses. I went to O'Donnell's again recently while in town for training with a local firearms trainer. Thus, I get treated as a friend-of-a-friend, not an outsider. Otherwise, I surely would have experienced even more of the negative things these other folks are posting about than I already have. Bottom line, this place is a freaking dive, is filthy, and has awful service. The employees mostly have attitude problems-- I was looked at funny when simply ordering a beer, as if they didn't want my business because I wasn't one of their regulars. This is nowhere to take a client, a co-worker, a friend, or anyone else whom you want to have a respectable experience. The only reason I go here is that the trainer goes here all the time and they have a good beer selection-- and there's nothing else I'm really wanting to do after being on the gun range all day. Also, they have a pool table and it's two blocks from the Jefferson Inn, where I normally stay while in town. The staff needs a major attitude adjustment, and also compliance training so they don't over-serve. This should be a place where customers are welcomed, not a locals-only watering hole where I can barely get service. This place is often empty, while there are other establishments in town that are crushing it and are always packed, so obviously folks are voting with their feet.
