If you're anywhere near Southern Pines or Pinehurst, BHAWK Distillery is an absolute must-visit!…read more We had the pleasure of taking the distillery tour with the incredible Lisa, and what an experience it was! Her knowledge of bourbon is simply phenomenal, but what made the tour truly memorable was the passion she has for sharing the story of Brad and Jess Halling, their vision for BHAWK, and their deep love and gratitude for Southern Pines, our service members and their families, and the entire Moore County community. Every part of our visit reflected that mission--from the warm hospitality to the outstanding food, exceptional handcrafted spirits, and welcoming atmosphere. And then there's the gift shop... let's just say we couldn't resist! We came home with bottles of Sergeant's Valor, the special Sergeant's Valor Christmas Blend, Madame Colonel Pistachio Bourbon Cream, Madame Colonel Gin, several BHAWK T-shirts, and beautiful bourbon glasses. There were so many unique items that we simply couldn't leave empty-handed! Whether you're visiting the Sandhills, live in Southern Pines or Pinehurst, or are just passing through, make time to stop by for lunch, dinner, or their Sunday brunch. You'll enjoy incredible food, outstanding spirits, and some of the warmest hospitality you'll find anywhere. A very special thank you to Jess for taking the time to make our visit so personal and memorable. It's easy to see why BHAWK has become such a treasured part of the community. We can't wait to come back! Highly recommended!

I went to O'Donnell's again recently while in town for training with a local firearms trainer. I…read morerealized something important: the only reason this bar is tolerable is that I'm typically there with the trainer, who is well-known in the community. Thus, I get treated as a friend-of-a-friend, not an outsider. Otherwise, I surely would have experienced even more of the negative things these other folks are posting about than I already have. Bottom line, this place is a freaking dive, is filthy, and has awful service. The employees mostly have attitude problems-- I was looked at funny when simply ordering a beer, as if they didn't want my business because I wasn't one of their regulars. This is nowhere to take a client, a co-worker, a friend, or anyone else whom you want to have a respectable experience. The only reason I go here is that the trainer goes here all the time and they have a good beer selection-- and there's nothing else I'm really wanting to do after being on the gun range all day. Also, they have a pool table and it's two blocks from the Jefferson Inn, where I normally stay while in town. The staff needs a major attitude adjustment, and also compliance training so they don't over-serve. This should be a place where customers are welcomed, not a locals-only watering hole where I can barely get service. This place is often empty, while there are other establishments in town that are crushing it and are always packed, so obviously folks are voting with their feet.
