The new fan clutch was unbalanced and failed after driving for a day, ripping its own harness off, causing a short that prevented the vehicle from starting once I arrived home. I called and talked to Elite Performance, and they had my vehicle towed back in to repair it. They switched to another brand of fan clutch and replaced it at no charge. Stand-up guys! He said it may be a few days before they could get to it, but that the car would be stored indoors. I agreed, gave them the key and left the premises. On Oct. 1, 2013 at 7:15 AM, I received a call from a friend who saw my car in the parking lot. I went over and checked, and the car was left in the parking lot overnight - *unlocked and all windows down.* The car was soaking wet inside and out due to dew and sprinklers and there was dirt and grass in the car from landscapers and surrounding construction. The condition of the car when I found it is not my main problem. The main problem is that they left my 63-year-old antique automobile clearly visible and vulnerable in a wide open parking lot easily accessible from Preston Rd. As a result, anyone with a trailer could have taken that car in minutes, and I would have never seen it again. Just to put this in perspective, this is a car I have owned for 27 years, done all the work on myself and put tens of thousands of dollars into - this wasn't some piece of junk rust bucket. Before confronting anyone about the situation, I wanted to give the on duty staff a chance to explain what happened, so I went inside and asked if the car was, in fact, left outside overnight, and the company representative behind the counter nonchalantly said "yeah," then shrugged as though it were no big deal. He offered no explanation, made no attempt to apologize and ignored me from then on. That employee's lack of concern for the safety of my property, unwillingness to accept responsibility for the incident and unwillingness to apology led to a heated exchange. During that exchange, I demanded the return of my keys. Once I had my keys, I left. At this time, nobody has reached out to say "I'm sorry," "How can we fix this" or even acknowledge they put my property at risk of theft or vandalism. I know my way under the hood (rebuilt my first engine at 15 and went on to study engineering), but for automatic transmissions you NEED a shop that has the right people ... this is the place! I called shops from Richardson to Frisco, and most suggested replacement with a rebuilt unit but there was a backlog in replacement units that was 3 months out. I told him fine and then got the shock of my life. I got the diagnostics back and read how after resetting the error code, the vehicle ran fine, temp held fine and yet they came out with a quote, to change out my thermostat, because it stuck. It isn't because I can see the temperature gage move up and down even though it isn't reading properly. And besides, if it was "stuck" the car would run hot and not cold. To top that off they said I had a head gasket leak and I was leaking coolant. I just had to cooling system fill & bled so that was residual. Besides I never had any signs of leakage where my car gets parked and that has been 8 years worth of use. Overall repair bill was nearly $3000.00 dollars. So I told them I'd do it myslef and took my vehicle. I bought the sensor and the tools to make it easier to replace and all of that ran me less than $50.00. I do not recommend anybody use them, who hide behind as being a Chritian organization and rob their customers blind.

Took car back in due to leak and to complete a couple of other unrelated items. Was told there was no sign of leak. Knew that was wrong so went to competitor who immediately identified leaking turbocharger. According to Google AI Overview: "For (my car) a mechanic must remove the turbocharger assembly to replace the water pump....the mechanic must take extra care to avoid damaging these components. It's crucial that all gaskets and seals are replaced properly....to prevent future leaks. Took car to dealer service department who also identified damaged and leaking turbocharger assembly. Cost to fix....well over $5,000. Regarding your response below...I did let you know at the time. Only you said there was no leak when two other auto repair then immediately saw leaks and showed me photos of them.
