A/C Repair I would avoid Prosper Air at all costs. If it is a simple cleaning or charging, they are acceptable. If you need anything else, go find any other service provider. They assessed, stated they needed to order a part for A/CRepair. Would arrive in 3 days. took Payment for entire job up front. 6 days later, no response until I push it. Get a text response that they will install part in an additional 5 days. Promised job would be done, but pushing back that would take more than 10 days to repair. AVOID Prosper Air read more

I'm updating my 2018 review to reflect recent experiences I had with Prosper Air. I'm changing it from 5 stars to 1 star. It's been near impossible to get a hold of them, and they make commitments they don't keep. Last July, our AC went out and they returned my call a day later and stopped by. I'd already had the air handler fixed by another company at that point as it was urgent. That other company recommended a full replacement. I wanted Prosper Air to give me a second opinion, which they did, and they agreed it should probably be replaced. They sent me a quote by email, and I wanted to go with their replacement as they have done good work and treated me well in the past. My email response to her was the last time I had any effective communication with them. Tabitha has been totally unresponsive to calls, text messages, and emails. I contacted her over the course of five months to try and get the replacement scheduled. Every 4-5 emails/texts she would say "oh yea I still have this scheduled and will get back to you..." A few months later, I just got tired of it and changed AC company. My new company is super responsive, and have provided excellent service. Prosper Air, you need to do better. You lost an 8-year customer. Hire someone to take your calls and do the scheduling. You'll run out of customers if you treat customers the way you treated me. read more

I would not use Prosper Air based on my experience in dealing with the owner, Tabitha Alsdurf. I hired Prosper Air to check what I assumed was a faulty HVAC unit in my home during extreme temperatures in August. The company was recommended by a local resident who had only used them for basic annual HVAC maintenance such as cleaning the outside unit, checking electrical connections, replacing filters. Due to the reference, Tabitha agreed to move up our issue and come out after hours for $125. She replaced the dual capacitor and charged $120 for a total of $251.86. Tabitha never stepped foot in the home or attic although we stated we could run home from our dinner to accommodate whatever she needed to get the temps down in the house. She called me at dinner for payment and I happily obliged thinking the issue with the temps in the 80's in the house were over. Overnight the temps came down a few degrees but by 1:30, on Saturday the temp was creeping up. After questioning if the thermostat upstairs should be at the same temp and Tabitha not offering any other options to trouble shoot after sending her screen shots of the thermostats climbing to 78 despite being set at 71, Tabitha's response via text "It can't keep up with 110 degree heat." I texted, "Tabitha, with all due respect....This is exactly where we were yesterday. We are now setting at 77 degrees in the house, so no change. I'm struggling with having paid over $250 with no improvement. I am laid off and that is money I did not have." Her response was "Ok.." I was shocked at the uncaring response and that her nonchalant attitude must be a sign of her shoddy work as well. After taking some deep breaths because I couldn't believe that a small business owner would respond is such an outrageous way, I decide to take the high road and ask her what the next step is as I've turned the zone upstairs off as was suggested and in only two hours it was 87 degrees upstairs, 77 degrees downstairs. I asked if she was planning to come back out again since the issue was not corrected the previous night. I never received a response or an offer to correct. I finally got her on the phone to state that she didn't fix the problem and she replied that the outside unit was dirty, and she had to spray it off. I told her that was not the case because we had recently sprayed it off and changed the filter although neither were really needed as we were attempting to troubleshoot the issue before calling her. Tabitha then asked if I wanted my old capacitor back if she could find it in the back of the truck.....? What? We were exasperated and I explained if she knew in advance that replacing the capacitor might not work due to the extreme heat, the right thing to do would have been to have stated that up front so I could make the call to replace or not especially after hours for an extra $125. She agreed to review the invoice to refund a portion, however after two attempts to contact her via email she chose not to respond. Tabitha was nonresponsive to multiple texts and calls and did not volunteer to come out to troubleshoot the job. Finally, she agreed on the phone to review the invoice to refund a portion of the charges since she knew her "fix" of the problem was not going to work. I followed up in email on two more occasions via email August 31, September 21 to no avail. It was apparent that she agreed on the phone to review the invoice to come to an agreed amount to refund was merely a ploy to get us off the phone. She was unconcerned, unapologetic, unresponsive, and uncaring. Overall, an incredibly horrible customer service experience. It's apparent Tabitha may be capable of basic handyman helper maintenance issues, however under no circumstances would I use them for diagnostics, repair, installation or replacement or any other kind of issue because she was unable to troubleshoot the issue and was unwilling to work towards any kind of customer resolution. read more

Tabitha was absolutely amazing! Called her when we lost power in our AC in the heat of July with a 5 week old. Talk about desperate. She came same day and clearly laid out our options. She was honest and we felt she was as upfront as you could be considering the repairs that were needed. AC repair anything is NOT cheap so you want to use someone you trust. Tabitha is that person. Home owners beware! Not wiling to admit mistakes and right their wrongs. They put $500 worth of r22 (freon) in my upstairs AC unit after learning it was empty. They didn't even perform a leak test! Folks, AC units are closed systems and should never lose refrigerant. All the r22 leaked out immediately because the schrader valve was leaking. How do I know this? Well I had to call out a real pro, Bill Joplin to fix what Prosper Air could not. Thanks Prosper Air for charging me $500 for freon you pumped straight into the atmosphere! Wonder how much ozone melted away because of that negligence? The initial call I had out to Prosper Air was for my primary AC unit. Refrigerant was low so Prosper Air put r407 in r22 only compressor (primary AC unit). Experienced and licensed techs in the HVAC industry know this is a no no, as a homeowner I did not know this was an issue until calling a true professional company. Now I've learned it's only a matter of time before my components fail because of this. Prosper Air refused to answer calls/return voicemails/texts after learning of me having Bill Joplin out to review systems. They also refused a refund for the $500 of freon I paid for that they shot into the atmosphere. And finally they refused to replace the r407 with r22. read more

Justin replied over email to help me schedule his visit, which was great since I am often on the phone during the day and don't have much time to answer a call. He arrived promptly when he said he would, introduced himself, and took off his shoes when he came in. It may seem ridiculous that I even mention this, but its important, because it really sets the stage for how the visit is going to go. He was professional from the get-go. We don't even take our shoes off in the house, but he did anyway :-) I gave him the lay of the land, and he immediately went up to triage the issue. (I was having a circuit breaker trip every few days on one of my furnace units). He did a full system check including amperage and recommended that we bypass the door switch (in case it is the issue). While he was here, my wife asked him some balancing questions and he immediately jumped in a rebalanced the upstairs for us (the builders rarely do any balancing). In the end, his diagnosis was that it is either the door switch or a bad breaker. He said to wait and see if the door switch fixes it, otherwise, to get a new breaker. He offered that they could install it, or I could probably do it myself. He also offers high quality air filters at a much better price than I was getting at Costco. In the end, I am VERY happy with his company and his approach. He could have gouged me for the checkup, the balancing, the breaker, etc; but he didn't. Very honest approach and very easy to work with. Highly recommend I wrote them a check, and they gave me a well defined service order invoice form that described everything that was done, as well as some additional information about my unit. read more

I used Prosper Air for the first time over a year ago at my old residence for the inspecition to sell. When I moved it was partially unfortunate that I had a home warranty because I was forced to use the company that was provided with it. They were very thorough and helped me get the home sold with their sign-off on my A/C unit. I've since had Prosper Air out to my new home twice and nothing has changed in all three visits. They are professional, responsive, and never try to nickel and dime you. A great upside is I'm buying all my home air filters from them now and it saves a significant amount from what I was paying from Home Depot / Lowes. I never knew that buying certain filters could be bad for your A/C unit because of air flow restrictions. They saved me there too. All in all I can't imagine a better experience in an often poor-experience industry than what Prosper Air has provided. read more

I called them after looking them up on Yelp, left them a message and 30 mins later Tabitha calls me back saying they are finishing another job and will swing by to help me out with my AC issues. Tab, Justin and their awesome "in training" son came by, polite and friendly as can be, and quickly determined the problem and got me squared away. These guys are HONEST people, and they know what they are doing. They don't overcharge you for things you don't need, and do not try to upsell you for no reason. I was shocked when she totaled up my bill that included the service trip charge, freon replacement, coil cleaning, and a replacement of a TXV, labor, etc etc for such a cheap price, I couldn't believe it. Best part is they showed me exactly what I needed to do, where things were, and how to maintain the AC unit to ensure I'd have many future cool summers. Seriously, call them. I'm sure my experience may be a bit out of the ordinary. I called them at 4:30 PM and they were at our house 20 minutes later. Justin found our problem right away which was clogged drainage pipe that fortunately tripped the switch in the drip pan when it got full. He fount that our previous AC company jacked up the drainage lines causing the condensation to back flow into the pan. After he fixed that he took a look at my 2 condensers outside and took a water hose to clean them out. I have a new AC company and set myself up with their service plan which was a third of the cost of our previous AC company. Oh, the cost of our service to get both our AC units working again was extremely fair. It's no wonder at all why they have top ratings here. Second time I've used Justin. Last year we had to have some extensive AC work done. We originally called the company that DR Horton used during the original construction. We were originally quoted over $2000 but they had a "special" and would do it for $1800. After calling Justin and meeting him face to face I knew I had made the right choice.....saving $500 in the process. Today he came out because the system wasn't working. I trust him enough to leave my garage door opener where he could find it and left a blank check for him when he finished. After getting a call from his wife, Tabatha, my bill was a whopping $35. They couldn't find anything except the outside coils were really dirty. They cleaned them and said they thought that was the only thing wrong. When I got home it still wouldn't get below 81. I called back and left a message and got a call back by Tabatha within the hour. They said they would come back over on their way home from where ever it was they were. Arrived about 8:00. Justin found a bad part that he missed on the earlier visit. Got me up and running and only charged me $20 for the part. Justin and his wife Tabatha are really nice, down to earth, hard working people that will do you right and not take advantage of you......don't hesitate to call them!
