Set an 8 AM appointment they were prompted and ready to go they diagnosed it as a crooked oil filter and the gasket had failed a job that Valvoline did a few weeks before they fixed it topped it off at no charge . He is consistently rude, disrespectful, and has a terrible attitude every time I interact with him. I took my Honda in for an oil change. During the process, they discovered that during the previous oil filter change, the Honda dealership had cross-threaded the filter, so that a new filter could not be put back on. I was stuck as a customer as the Honda dealership would not claim fault. Rick ordered the part and took a customer first approach to my situation. I was surprised and pleased by his customer service. Neglect, Dishonesty, and Employee Incompetence! I had noticed my vehicle leaking coolant and decided to bring it to Driver's Edge to pin-point the location of the leak. After most of the day had passed, I called in to be told that they had pressurized the system and were unable to locate any traces of a coolant leak. They then proceeded to tell me that my transmission fluid has been leaking, and urged me to get a quick fix at their affiliated transmission shop. Not only did the transmission shop take my money for an unnecessary, and most likely fictional problem, my radiator continued to leak. I brought my vehicle to a different shop where they pressurized tested the system and within 5 minutes located the leak in the radiator. Driver's Edge neglected my coolant leak, lied about pressure testing my cooling system or assessed it incompetently, and overall committed borderline business malpractice. read more

This business saved me this morning!!! The start to my day was already just awful and emotional, and as I get into my car and I can tell something is off when starting my car. I did a quick google search and I self diagnose that it's going to be something serious and expensive. Somewhat new to the area I do not have a mechanic but remember passing this place so I took a chance and just pulled in. I left my car running, afraid it wouldn't start if I turned it off, and walked inside. By the time I walked inside all the stress of the morning had taken it's toll. As I was fighting back tears, but not successful, I spoke to the gentleman at the counter and told him how my car had been acting and asked if they could help me. HE WAS SO NICE!!! He immediately had my car pulled my car around it was quickly diagnosed as just a bad battery. They replaced it and I was out within 15 min!!! The kindness that this company showed me this morning deserves to be acknowledged!!! I highly recommend not only because of their kindness but also the honest diagnoses of the cars issue. This review is from my experience in November 2019(better late than never). I had a cylinder go out while I was driving and ended up at Driver's Edge in Prosper. They completely took advantage of customer ignorance and price gouged me. I usually work on my own car, but this was an unexpected emergency while I was away from home and I needed the work done. I needed ONE ignition coil replaced and was honestly ignorant of them as I never replaced one and didn't have time to do any research. They went ahead and replaced the coil as well as all 4 spark plugs and said I also needed the engine valve cover gasket replaced. I took their word for it. The bill was $739.19. A set of 4 spark plugs costs around $22. They charged me $56. One ignition coil costs between $22-75. They charged me $173.65. An engine valve cover gasket set costs around $14. They charged me $82.99. Labor was $327.80 They also charged me for 3 cans of brake cleaner for $14.97. I just took a look at my spark plugs and they appear to have never even been replaced. These folks are criminals. Do not give them your business. read more

I paid $650 to have some work done that dealt with oil pan ... the parts were like $50 and the labor was $600... once they were done I was having the same problem. I went back twice and they said they couldn't figure it out what the problem was ??????? Then soon after my check engine light came on and told me to turn the car off immediately at that point I drove my car to KWIK KAR ... they told me I needed to go back to the original place the work was done. They gave me a free towel and made sure I was good ...fast forward after a few hours of them having my car... NOW THEY SAID IT WAS GOING TO COST ME me another $650 to do something else with the oil. After talking with them on the phone, this place will NOT replace powertrain parts unless the vehicle produces a trouble code. Not all vehicles produce trouble codes every time there is an issues, especially on older vehicles. There are other means of diagnosing powertrain problems. This tells me this is a place without certified mechanics, or only wants the easy work. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Just moved to Prosper from North Garland and took my Suburban here for an oil change and then 2 weeks later for a squeak near the front wheel. These guys didn't try to upsell me on any unnecessary items during the oil change. Then, when I brought it back for the squeak, they found that a prior auto shop from North Garland had not greased a control arm during install. They greased it up and handed me the keys and didn't charge me a thing. Other auto shops would have charged a diagnostic fee in some cases...not here...at least not for this. Will be back. read more
