Really Bad Bad Bad car wash service!DO NO GO THERE! I've been to this place once to drive my car for quick cat wash. The car wash machine didn't work properly & I called somebody at the service area & letting them know that it didn't work & my car was a mess & look wet & still dirty. They gave me a code to re-wash again & said it should work since they just fixed the car wash machine. I gave a try again & still did the same! I told them again & they seems to argue back & said there is not way it didn't work because they just fixed it. Since I didn't want to argue back about the car wash I left with my dirty filthy car & $15 was gone! I've told friends & family that live around here to NEVER GO HERE! I went to Pep Boys on Harwood & 121 in Bedford to get a headlamp replaced. After standing for 15 minutes waiting to be helped they said the wait would be over an hour. I didn't want to wait so I stopped in at Drivers Edge to see if they could get it done quicker. I literally was there less than 10 minutes when I was told they had me "Fixed up." Boy were they right about that! AND they didn't even charge me. They just earned a new customer. Bye bye Pep Boys! Thank you Drivers Edge. I must add that they are extremely friendly too. Been here twice now. Once for an oil change and they told me I needed new brakes. My car had 3000 miles on it. I called bullshit. Fast forward 7 years to second visit for an inspection. They told me I needed brakes and windshield wipers to pass inspection. I showed them my brake job receipt from a week earlier and they backed off. Held fast on the windshield wipers. I paid the $10.00 for each windshield wiper just to get out of there. I will not go back to this scamming business. read more

What iPhone was interesting was somehow they discover that my engine moves a little bit when you step on the break and step on the gas, and then it moves again if you put it in reverse and step on the break at the same time. I used to think they were honest and fantastic and would take all three of my cars on a regular scheduled repairs there until the last time I took my car there for an oil change. They tried to convince me to get my brake fluid changed and the guy in charge took me to my car to show me how dirty my fluid was. However I told him that three months prior they told me the same thing and I had it changed. He checked the records and saw that I was right. When I asked him why he didn't notice that when he showed me how dirty the fluid was he didn't have an answer. So I stopped taking my cars there. There were a few more incidents not as atrocious that happened to me there but that was the last straw. It's unfortunate because they were so close to my house. read more

I took my truck to have a water leak. They called me within 20 minutes and had so many problems with my truck that it was going to cost me well over a thousand to repair, from water pump, hoes and also needed 2 tires . All I want in there was to tell me why I had a water leak. When I said no to the cost of repaired they charged me 153.00. I asked why and was told they to run tests on it. I will never be back. I learned you must ask if there is going to be a charge before they start. read more

My Mom took her car there. They told her that she had a leak in her valve cover. They told her not to drive it. Took it to our regular mechanic and he fixed the leak in transmission line. The valve cover was ok. My Mom is elderly and got upset when this place told her not to drive her car. Seems shady to me. read more

Big LIARS!!!!!!! STAY AWAY From this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 2011 Mercedes C300. The original battery needed to be replaced. The mechanic who came from the Park Place MB dealership to where I was stranded quoted me $181 for the battery and labor. He was going to do the job where my car died in Colleyville but was missing a tool so he couldn't do it and I took it to Driver's Edge. They quoted me $356 for a battery and labor only because it has a "3 year warranty" and because the battery "was in the back of the car and was hard to get to." I told them that seemed like a lot of money so I left and came home. Then I called the original mechanic to come replace the battery. He just left my house. I saw him replace the battery that was NOT IN THE BACK of the car but right under the front hood AND he charged me $181 for battery and labor. I am in disbelief about the dishonesty of D.E. workers!! I am about to call them and let them know too. DO NOT go there!!!! read more

I have a 2000 Lexus and it needed a rear main oil seal replaced. An expensive, labor intensive job. The car was also due for a timing belt replacement, which is normal. They did both, worked with me on the costs, and came in at exactly what they quoted. They were also quick and the folks there are very nice and knowledgeable. I also used them before when I had an oil lead a couple of years ago and they replaced the valve seal. Again, did a good job and no troubles with the repairs. No, I don't work there and have no affiliation with the company, just someone who likes to give good reviews when deserved. read more

I own 2 VW and they happen to both be in the shop at the same time. #firstworldproblems But this was the most interesting concurrent experiment for me on mechanics in the area. They corrected my fuel pump prob and a recall situation (I didn't even know about) in the same day. I have been going to this location for about 9 years for misc items...oil checks, inspections... It was $170 to simply get my oil changed and I was scammed into getting my air filters replaced. The whole process took more than two hours and by the time they were done I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. Great place to go if you want to get overcharged for being a girl. read more

I had a great experience in this car shop. After being rejected at a couple other car shops because my car is "too old", I called them. And they didn't hesitate a second to see me. They worked all day and even stayed open late to finish working on my car. Excellent service, fair price and great environment. Will be recommending this place to everybody I know! While I was there, I had them check out a few other things and had those repaired as well. The staff - especially their GM Tam - was fantastic and thorough. I just had my oil change done at Firestone and was told I needed a brake light bulb replaced. Estimate to fix $37.00. I decided to get a second estimate because I thought this was very high for a bulb. Drivers Edge installed a new bulb. Do not go here! I believe the other reviewer's stories about this place being dishonest. I took my car there today to get a tire looked at because it has been slowly leaking air. They told me they "don't do that here". As I was walking back to my car I noticed on the side of the building in big lettering it says "Complete Auto Repair". That's either a lie, or the person who spoke to me was lying. I have a hard time believing they don't repair tires. No Honesty. Driver's Edge in Grapevine tried to charge me over $1000 dollars for a starter. O' Reilly's re-manufactured starter sells for 146.00 for a Honda CRV. The repair mechanic, and then the Manager lied, they said that a $145 dollar diagnostic is not waived, even though the counter person I spoke to when I took my car in, said it would go towards the repair. The Manager also said that no OEM parts available. O'Reilly's have them in stock. Estimate showed $406.99 for a starter but the bill showed $496.99 (3X the price for the starter). In between the first price and the second, they tried to add on other items that they said I needed to have replaced, with the bill rising to $2,212. I told them they need to take those things off the estimate. Then they tried to "give me a break" by saying they would only charge me $1005 for repairs I didn't want. After arguing with them about padding the bill, the final bill is $810.55 ( this included the $90.00 for towing). I will tow my car to the next state before going back. Places like Drivers Edge in Grapevine give Auto Repair Shops a bad name. read more

This place is amazing! Yesterday, the day before Easter, we got stranded in the parking lot across the street from them around 5. We called them and told them whats wrong and just asked for a price estimate, not only did they offer to walk over to see what was exactly wrong, they also towed us over to their garage and stayed open to help us out of our jam in the same day. They were super helpful and willing to do anything to assist us. We will certainly be using them in the future. read more

Never go here. If you do, make sure you stay close by to see if they actually perform the services you are willing to pay for. If you find out later that those services were not performed just chalk it up to a bad learning experience, because you will never receive a refund. They are here to take as much money as they can from you. If you take your car here to get an oil change - they will try and get you to pay for the high grade synthetic oil which is trated at over 10,000 miles and even 15,000 miles. then they will put a sticker on your car for 3,000 miles to your next oil change. No one needs to get an oil change every 3k. Waste of money and money. Most car manufacturers say 5k to 7.5k. google it - there is no need to get an oil change every 3,000 miles read more

So sad to see so many bad reviews! This place is great! When they first opened, I used their car wash. Somehow the mop-like cleaners in the wash ripped one of my wiper blades off. I went in and asked if they could grab it for me. They said they would replace my set for free and did it on the spot. Today, I had a brake light out and they fixed it in 5 mins for free. The first time I went I had a missing $20 which I just pulled out prior to my visit to help pay. I still went back and after the second time my AC started to mess up. I have a brand new car, never had an issue.....until after my oil change. It could be coincidental or they just messed it up on accident. Either way......not worth the $45 oil change. read more

This Drivers Edge is a major scammer! On Monday, 9/22, I went to this location for an oil change and state inspection. They are advertising a free wheel alignment check with an oil change and suggested I do that. They ran the test and told me my car needed a wheel alignment. They couldn't show me the test results because their printer was "broken". They also told me I needed to rotate my tires. When I told them I would go to Discount Tires for that, they told me they do the wheel alignments for them. I reluctantly agreed to the wheel alignment, but not to the tire rotation. I went back the next morning and told the shop foreman they had charged me for rotating my tires which they didn't do (just had to look at the tires), lied to me about being recommended by Discount Tires (called and they are not) and scammed me about aligning my wheels. There was also a bogus charge for "supplies" that is for shop towels, etc. They agreed to refund the charge for rotating the tires. After I asked for the corporate manager's name and email address and informed him that I was going to the app Nextdoor and post the scam they are running, he agreed to also refund the money for the tire rotation and supplies. I had him sign my invoice with the amount of the pending refund. I posted this warning online on the Nextdoor Neighbor app. At least 10 people responded with stories of how this business had scammed them or tried to rip them off, some for thousands of dollars!. read more

This is the closest oil change place to our house, but we now drive further because these guys just don't cut it. Here are some of our fun experiences: 1. My car requires special oil (10W60) - I show up with my own oil and ask them to use the oil. Nope, won't do it. I offer to pay full proce. Nope - can't use customer's supplied products. OK. Ask if they have 10W60? Nope. Drove to another location - no problems. 2. Went to get an inspection on a Friday night about 40 minutes before closing time. The guy says "we aren't doing any inspections right now because we are almost out of stickers and want to 'save' them for the Saturday customers." I said "So you won't inspect it now, but you will if I come back tomorrow?". Yep. Again, went to another location - no issues, 3. Wife went to get an inspection - sorry out of stickers...try again tomorrow. 4. I get my wife's car inspected there but the parking brake fails to hold (she never uses it) so it fails inspection. There are signs everywhere indicating they offer full vehicle repair services. The guy says "Dunno what it could be...take it to the dealer". I take it home, adjust the parking brake myself (note: this technology hasn't changed much in the last 100 years), and bring it back and it passes. 5. My son takes his car there to get inspected. They indicate "We can't read your computer, it must have a problem". He brings the car abck home, I hook up my own laptop/software (connects just fine) and confirm the car is in an emmisions ready state. He takes it to another shop...no problems, connects and passes just fine. I can't tell if these guys are just incredibly lazy or incompetent - I'm thinking more that a bit of both. Please note these experiences started when they were Kwik Kar and have continued now that they are Driver's Edge. I feel sorry for whoever bought this franchise if they aren't aware of what is going on. read more

I went to the Driver's Edge at Hwy 121 and Glade Road in Euless, TX. They said that they were Kwik Lube, just with a new name. So I left my wife's car for an oil change. After about 30 minutes they called to tell me that we needed $782.00 worth of repairs. Keep in mind I only asked for an oil change. I told the caller to "do nothing" but change my oil and he seemed a little disappointed. I went immediately to get our car "as it was apparently on it's last legs..... and took it to my regular mechanic. He looked over the recommended repairs and inspected our car. When he stopped laughing, he told us no repairs were needed and said no charge. I'm a retired car dealer and the rule of thumb is NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER, go to a lube shop that does more than lubes, a muffler shop that also does tune-ups and so on. It always seems that they want you to experience every type of service they provide whether you need it or not. Will not be back to any of the Driver's Edge locations. We have been going to Kwik Lube for 20 years with no issues....is this really the same company? read more

Terrible and dishonest. Took car in for inspection and oil. Car failed inspection so they called and wanted to run a check to see what the issue was for $80. I declined and picked up car. The codes are on the inspection printout I told the guy so he knew what was wrong. So what was it? The code is very common on older cars and is from a dirty sensor. I pulled it (2 screws and maybe 2 mins) sprayed it with 30 cents worth of cleaner. Put back on and drove back up to get it inspected. It passed. This place is a joke and will take advantage if you do not know better. read more

I recently stopped by the Grapevine location for a car inspection. Like most people, we worry about ever bringing our car into a auto repair location. I was happy no EXTRA costs and car passed without issue. I meet Jeremy Ellison the General Manager and afterwards wanted to share my meeting. Jeremy was a solid guy trying to build a business and with that, he is putting customer service first. I like many others will always worry entering repair location, but highly recommend giving these guys a chance. read more

I read many of the reviews and noticed there are either very high or very low reviews. I can't speak for anything other than my personal experience. I had a leaking water pump. I have done a fair amount of mechanical work myself on my sons' Ford Ranger. But I needed the work done and didn't have the time. I was quoted a price over the phone and given an estimated time frame. I had called two other garages -- Drivers edge was not the most or the least. But right in line with what I expected to pay. I dropped the car off and the staff was friendly and helpful. The next day they confirmed the leak and had the part and completed the job. The price had gone up to include an antifreeze flush. When I told them the original quote did not include that the lead manager took it off the bill. I am giving them 5 stars for a reasonable price, good communication, the work, friendly staff, and handling the minor issue quickly and in the favor of the customer. I will use them again and have no issue with recommended Drivers Edge to others. read more

Since Yelp seems to have deleted my review, I'm posting again for visibility so other people do not get scammed by this company. My fiance went to Driver's Edge to get a small vibration in his steering checked out. We dropped the car off and left to go run errands. Not too much time had passed when Driver's Edge called us, saying that it wasn't an alignment our car needed, but that the shocks on our Mazda 3 needed replacing. Not only that, but they told us he had "a very unusual kind of shocks" and that they would be very expensive to fix, and quoted us almost $2000 with the warning that we needed to get this done immediately since the problem was dire. Since the car was still under warranty, my fiance mentioned to the gentlemen at the counter at DE that he would just take it to the dealer to have it checked out, since if the shocks were so special and so very badly broken it would be covered right? The two DE employees gave each other a weird side look. When he got to the dealer, the mechanic told him that we were being scammed, and that the shocks on the Mazda 3 are neither special nor expensive to replace. Not only that, but they didn't need replacing! It was as we originally thought--the car only needed an alignment and a tire rotation to stop the vibration problem.
