I have gone to this shop a few times now, two different managers, or at least front of house staff, i had to get my water pump replaced and they quoted me a great price compared to dealer and three other auto shops, ive had oil changes and they have diagnosed my car for me with everything going on, my car has a lot going on and they were up front and honest and without me providing any details, they were in line with all of the same required maintenance that other shops said i needed but they were actually reasonably priced. my 2017 mini countryman gives me a hard time but this shop has been great true 10/10 read more

I'd give this place zero stars if possible. I thought this place was absolute trash and lacking in honesty & integrity. I went for an oil change & front brake pad replacement. Almost $80 just for an oil change and the guy tried to tell me it'd be $893 for a front brake pad replacement and tried to con me into replacing SIX rotors, when my car only has 4. The brakes are not grinding nor is the car shaking. I called 3 other mechanics, and all quoted me less than half the price for labor and parts. This place is garbage & I'll make sure to let people know to never come to this location or its affiliates. Update: no one has contacted me from the management team. It is now Dec 6. read more

I wasn't here long. I was being a bad adult and waited until the last minute for my vehicle registration. I I was there a few minutes after they opened and there was already a few cars waiting for other services to be preformed. I told to gentlemen who was helping me what I needed and he was very honest and let me know that there was a wait. But because I had waited until the last minute I didn't have choice but to wait. I gave him my keys and went inside. Within about 10 minutes he let me know they were going to get my car in sooner because the inspection would only take a few minutes. This place took advantage of my 67 year old Mother with a $6k repair bill on her 2012 Audi A4. They manager (JOSEPH) told my Mother that her car would be worth $17k after the repairs, but Kelly Blue Book put the cars price at $4,500. Feeling extremely misled about the recommendation to spend $6k on repairs when the car isn't even worth that amount. We wont be returning here and have filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's office. I advise everyone else to STAY AWAY. read more

I know that no one, but me, will tell the truth. I truly love the Grapevine community and I think it is only fair to let everyone know why I am gone. After having a stroke and returning back early, the upper management treated me like I was a common thief, after receiving proof of the stroke. I was literally questioned on several occasions ending with, "Joseph that doesn't make sense". This was my first stroke and it was very confusing and quite frightening, really didn't know what was going on. I was told to get a medical release and I did, then I was expected to have a note to explain why I've been off, as if having the stroke wasn't enough. From day 1, after the stroke, they started treating me differently. I was being "threatened" while on medical leave. I ended up being fired for no call, no show. This corporation is by far the worst company that I have ever worked for. Double check your estimate, before agreeing... I will be starting a you tube channel, uncovering slum corporations. I filed a complaint with their corporate offices and the BBB about a fraudulent repair estimate I received yesterday (March 10,2020). My 2001 Ford F-150 would not start, although the battery is only 3 months old. I had my truck towed to this location (Glade Rd). Please note: I have been a patron of this location for over 10 years. In the past several years we have been getting dodgy service at best. So yesterday I received a call from the manager estimating that I needed to have my entire battery assembly replaced - at a cost of over $1050. He lost said that he recommends getting a factory replacement, which should be an additional $300 and a 5 day wait to receive the Ford Part. I called Ford Parts and was informed that they do not even manufacture that part anymore and that I would have to buy OEM (aftermarket). The Driver's Edge manager also said that it might not fix the issue and they may need to replace the starter, alternator or solenoid. Each at a separate expense. Now, knowing a bit about mechanics I knew this was excessive to say the least. I picked up my truck yesterday and paid $162.99 for "Labor and Diagnostics". It appeared that all they had done was remove my battery and start it with their battery. I asked for a report of the "diagnostics" to which I was denied, said they didn't have it. Here is why I filed a complaint with BBB: I took my truck to a Good Year Auto service in Bedford (Harwood Rd). They found that my battery terminals were simply corroded, making poor contact with the battery. They checked my alternator, starter, solenoid and battery and offered the report of their findings - all were working perfectly. They were able to diagnose the problem, replace the cable ends and terminals, including wrapping copper shielding to the cable - for a GRAND TOTAL of $102.94. For Parts AND Labor. So, on the way home in my truck (that now runs fabulously) I stopped by Driver's Edge and spoke with the manager. He offered no explanations, and basically said he was sorry that I "felt" this way. I even showed him the report from Good Year to which he said "We don't do that type of repair here". Seriously?? A corroded battery terminal? $102 vs $1050 (to start). This is outright fraud. It is not so much that I am angry, which I am - it is that we have completely lost faith with their business and brand, of which we have been loyal customers for over a decade. This is not the first time in the last 3 years that we have brought one of our vehicles in for an oil change - and were presented with an estimate over $1000 for something that was not an issue. On those occasions I brought our Jeep to the dealership to get a 2nd opinion - to which they said the diagnosis and estimate was false. After having Driver's Edge #223 replace the radiator in our late model Jeep TWICE with SIX months - I asked for all the parts removed to be given to me. Not to my surprise - they "Lost them". They have some serious issues occurring at this location. I would not recommend this business. read more

I called Driver's Edge and asked if they could do my oil change in 40 minutes; they told me to bring it by. I immediately drove over. They got me in and out in 40 mins without sacrificing quality. I knew something was wrong when I drove up to the oil Change que and no one came to see me even though they looked over at me several times. My car was rushed thru and the other wettted compartments werent topped off like before.ie washer fluid, radiator etc. No suggestions on whats recommended or needed to the vehicle like before and no free wash token. The worst part is even threatening to use a $10 groupon to get a discount which supposidly was honored before my bill was totaled the oil change for 7 qts of Mobil one was $115.43?? I called the Ford dealer who youd expect to be higher and they charge $69. Boy am I a sucker! I paid a premium even with a discount of $35+? Stay away from this ripoff! read more

My car has very low profile tires and the way the weather has been lately (cold/freezing) pot holes are my worst nightmare. I've came to them twice with the same problem just because they are right next to my house and most convenient to me when I have a flats. Last time was one flat and this time was two. They are not really known for being a wheel/tire shop but that doesn't stop them from helping you out when in need. I've serviced my car here twice for oil and my car runs so quiet it's crazy. Wrecked our family members car, had to go through hell and back to get paid for it since they wanted to avoid using their insurance.

I went to Drivers Edge to take a look at an issue where only my passengers windshield wiper was barely moving. I did a lot of research beforehand and found that many people online said it's a common issue where the screw gets loose. I didn't have the proper tools to tighten the screw so I asked Drivers Edge to take a look and let me know if it's a loose screw issue. They had me wait an hour while they "looked at it" and told me it would cost $298 to run a deeper diagnostic test because it's not a loose screw problem. I went to Pep Boys after and told them the same issue and they were able to tighten the screw in 3 min. Do NOT trust Drivers Edge as they are not an honest shop and only want to take your money. read more

I work right across the street from this location and will drop off my car for an oil change. The service is always great and done in the time frame provided. During some of my oil changes, they would suggest additional services but I never fell pressured or feel overcharged for anything extra I have them do. I always feel comfortable asking any auto related questions regardless if its related to any services provided during my visit. read more

Went to this shop because of oil leakage and thought it might be the oil pan. They went to inspect it and said the repairs would cost over $1000. I thought this was odd since I do not drive a luxury car and everything online said it shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred dollars. I left and went to two different auto shops and both said there was no issue with my oil pan. I had my filter tightened at a different shop and they said that was the only issue. I'm completely disgusted that Drivers Edge tried to rip me off and made me pay the diagnostic fee when their was zero issue. I will not be returning again. After reading several bad reviews I now see that they seem to do this often. read more

INSPECTION FRAUD & UNETHICAL PRACTICES I went in for a state inspection today but was met with unethical fraudulent behavior. Previously, I've never had my check engine light come on but interestingly enough after the inspection my check engine light is on. The man tries to tell me that the fault codes are for my mass air flow sensor and tries to sell me a diagnostic and air filter. I leave with out letting them touch my vehicle any more as i find it suspicious that all of a sudden my check engine light conveniently comes on as they do the inspection. I immediately go to my trusted mechanic for over 10 years but unfortunately he doesn't do inspections. My mechanic informs me there's nothing wrong with the vehicle and if those fault code were true the car would be misfiring and running very rough. I then call the Toyota dealership since they know me and I wanted to confirm what my mechanic was saying which they did. Apparently, all you have to do is while the car is running unplug the mass air flow sensor to trigger the check engine light and get a failed inspection. Now I call Driver's Edge and the man tries to tell me they couldn't have unplugged the O2 sensor because it's under the car and it would take an hour of labor etc. Essentially more lies to get out of the situation. The mass air flow sensor is conveniently located under the hood on top of the air intake right behind the battery. It literally takes as much effort to plug in your phone as it does to unplug the sensor. I then said "if you didn't unplug the sensor why are there finger prints and dust missing all over the sensor?" as seen in the pictures I provided. The man basically has no response and just wants to know how he can fix the situation. I let him know the only thing he can do is not try to screw people over in the future. It's incredibly unethical to try and screw over your customers especially in times like this with the national emergency and people trying to pay rent. I let him know I would be writing these reviews and notifying the state of the fraud. This happened today 5/21/2020 and I've provided the inspection report but I've blocked out my personal information for obvious reasons. read more

Three stars is pretty generous. Wanted simple oil change. They said it'd be $60-70. Walked out with $115. Even worse, somehow my tires became under inflated by 25%. All 4 tires went from 39-42 PSI (correct front/back pressure) to 30 PSI. No idea how that would of happened if they didn't do it. If anything I would expect the opposite. They should make sure tires are at correct pressure for the car which is clearly written on door. I get some of the upcharges because of make/model of my car but they knew that when I dropped it off. Just be up front about price at the time. Oh, and they didn't even bother to reset the oil change indicator on the car. A simple 1 minute thing to do. The whole thing was sloppy at best. I wouldn't be surprised if I find more problems too though. read more

We used to love taking our cars to Drivers Edge in 2016-2017. After Jeremy left, it has gone down hill. Last month, they tried to over sell me brake pads and said I needed extra service that would of cost me $800 extra. Come to find out, my brakes still had 45% left, and I didn't need the extra service. I just took my wifes car up there this morning and what do you know, $1,700 worth of charges... Never take your car here! They are unreliable, incompetent, they will try and put charges on your credit card weeks after you go there and then tell you you'll have to deal with your bank. I had my valve cover gaskets and oil gaskets replace ($900) and had to take it back four times because the car continued to leak and burn oil. I should have learned, but when my A/C went out they said they fixed for $150. Two days later all the freon had leaked out they said it was an additional $900 to fix the leak they missed in the first place. This was after I told them I was trading the car in in a few weeks and if they couldn't fix for less than a couple of hundred dollars to not do the repair. Took great care of me and really nice guys. They got my car aligned in a few hours, got finished 30 minutes earlier than expected, price was just what we discussed and best of all they didn't push unnecessary services. Even sent me along with some free advise that I probably need a new gas cap and that's why my check engine light is on... I have been to five mechanics, run two smoke tests and I have to do some shady stuff to pass my cars state inspection all for these guys to tell me to get a new gas cap. That's it, a gas cap. That check engine light has been such a headache and these guys figured it out in nothing flat. Great service. Very happy! read more

I am from out of town and had my car towed to drivers edge because they were the nearest to where my partner lives and it happened to be a Sunday meaning no other shops were open nearby. I was leery of them as I had read some bad reviews of their prices, They were able to fix my car fast but I ended up feeling ripped off as I was charged $1,500 for a job that costs about $250-$300 with parts and labor. When I hit the highway after leaving the shop, my wheels were making this unsettling grinding noise and had to bring the car in Again for them to fix the issue, so I'm top of paying an ungodly amount it wasn't fixed right the first time and I Still left feeling Like my car was going to break down again in my 8 hour journey home! It truly left me feeling unsafe in my own car and that someone had literally ripped opened my wallet stealing $1500. I am also a Gay/queer male and am not the most straight presenting male, I felt like they were taking advantage of me because they assumed I didn't know much about cars or that I was naive to what was happening. Never go to this place. Went in for an oil change and they told me I needed $1400 worth of repairs, that my car was dangerous to drive and noticed my car seat in the back. The guy proceeded to tell me I was going to endanger my child. Told them I had a warranty with Lexus and would speak to my husband. Flash forward a week or so, took my car to Lexus, got a call back that nothing was wrong with it but some bolts that needed tightening. These guys are SCAMS!! read more

Went in to the hands free car wash and i have to say that the wash was very well done by the equipment that they have, my car was very dirty with muck from resent bad weather and lots of highway driving and came out very clean! Why I'm knocking down the review to 3 out of 5 is because the dryers that they have are very loud and seem to be blowing very hard but they don't dry your vehicle very well. I have always gone to drivers edge for my inspection, oil changes and anything else that comes up. Today i pulled up for my inspection and before i could even get out of the car an associate came up to my window. He asked me for my insurance card and as i was looking for it another associate came up and without even looking at my car said he wouldnt do an inspection until i got two new front tires. 1. My tires are barely over a year old and 2. I had to replace a rim just 3 weeks ago so i had my tires checked by a TIRE STORE and they were fine. They also didnt even let me get my insurance card before they rudely stated- "you dont even have your insurance card so thats another reason we wont do your inspection." Where to begin. I had an issue with both of our cars, one was my Acura TL. They were supposed to change the timing belt, spark plugs, etc. Turns out they didn't tighten the spark plugs correctly, which exposed some other issues after I took my vehicle to the Honda dealer, who I should've taken it to in the first place, even though they do charge a little bit more, I've been with them for quite a while. On our other vehicle, a 2007 Santa Fe, I took it in to have them review the check engine light a year ago. Came back and told me that I need a new cat converter, quoted me around $800. Told him I'm going to wait to get the repair and get a second opinion. He calls me back to tell me that there are actually three cat converters and they recommend that I get all three done, which will cost me approx. $3,600! I told him, that's the value of the vehicle! It's been almost a year later, and no cat converters replaced, I've been taking it to my trusty Hyundai dealer since 2011 and it turns out that I've got some electrical issues which is why the check engine light comes off and on..I've known that for several years! To conclude, I will never set foot in another Driver's Edge again, especially the one on Glade Road in Grapevine. read more

Really Bad Bad Bad car wash service!DO NO GO THERE! I've been to this place once to drive my car for quick cat wash. The car wash machine didn't work properly & I called somebody at the service area & letting them know that it didn't work & my car was a mess & look wet & still dirty. They gave me a code to re-wash again & said it should work since they just fixed the car wash machine. I gave a try again & still did the same! I told them again & they seems to argue back & said there is not way it didn't work because they just fixed it. Since I didn't want to argue back about the car wash I left with my dirty filthy car & $15 was gone! I've told friends & family that live around here to NEVER GO HERE!
