I called in & spoke to Doug, he arranged my Uber ride back home. Shawn Dunn is the service writer that oversaw my overall needs. They repaired my engine rear main seal leak, replaced left & right engine mounts, valve cover gasket replaced, power steering flush & repair, flywheel, clutch & Pressure plate replaced, replaced trans fluid & rear differential fluid, topped off all fluids & test drove the car. The extended warranty insurance barely covered a fraction of the cost, the labor rate is great, I paid for price difference of OEM parts from what the insurance covered for after market parts. All in all my this place parked my car inside & never let up on their follow thru with ins. company. Shawn took pics after all the repair was completed. Car drives wonderful & very "tight" (in a good way). Overall, price point is relatively cheaper than BMW Dealership. Quality & customer service is tops here & I'm going to bring it back for oil changes & whatever comes up. I had been taking my cars to this place for years under the previous management, and I always had a good experience. Unfortunately, my recent visit was very disappointing. I brought my daughter's Mercedes-Benz in to have the sunroof repaired. We were given two options: replace the sunroof for approximately $3,000 or permanently close it for $630. We chose option #2, specifically clarifying that the sunroof shades would remain closed. Since we live in Texas, having the glass exposed without the shades is a major issue because of the heat. We were told there would be no problem with keeping the shades closed. After waiting three days, we picked up the car and noticed a scratch along the edge of the hood, which was not there before. I can only assume something was placed on the hood during the repair. More importantly, when we complained that the sunroof shades were left open, we were told that they didn't know the shades could not be closed once the sunroof system was disabled. My question is: if they didn't know this, why wasn't this explained to us before we authorized the repair? We would have made a different decision. Unfortunately, the staff's response was also very rude and unhelpful. The only solution they offered was to reopen the sunroof, leaving it broken as it was before the repair. I initially went to German Auto Repair in Grapevine after receiving a quote of over $10,000 from Avondale MB. German Auto Repair provided an estimate that was about a quarter of the price, explaining clearly that some of the recommended repairs weren't immediately necessary. After completing the initial work, I had to return because the previously deferred work did, in fact, need to be completed, resulting in an additional cost of around $2,500. Honestly, I didn't mind the follow-up. The entire experience showed me that German Auto Repair genuinely prioritizes customer interests. Was just randomly in the area one day and decided to look into the shop just because I saw that they specialized in German cars. I wanted to see if I could get a quick battery replacement and they were able to change change my key fob battery within minutes. The place on the inside is very clean, they also offer good refreshments as guest wait and they didn't even charge me for the quick fix, even after I offered to pay. I was at the airport coming home from a bidness trip and the damn check engine light on my BMW 535i came on so I checked on the internet and came across these guys. A guy named Tony took the car in and the reason for the check engine light was that I had some bad coils - he told me not all of them were bad but if he didn't replace them all along with the spark plugs, then the problem could reoccur and I didn't want the check engine light again so I got him to do the work. (I called on the down low to my friend at the BMW dealer and they said they couldn't meet the price, BTW) He called me when it was done and told me he had checked the car over and not only was there a small leak (power steering lines) but also he asked me if I sometimes felt a vibration when stopping. I had!! It seems the doggone control bushings for the brakes were wornout. He took care of that, too! Apparently, they also work on Mercedes Benz if you got one of those. read more

The bill was higher than I wanted to pay, so I decided to give German Car Care a chance. They reviewed the car without me telling them what the dealership had said was needed. They found the same things wrong. Kudos to DFW Audi for being appropriately suggestive on their vehicle check. And thanks to German Car Care for finding the same items needed and for saving me $1000 compared to Audi dealer. Very clean facilities, abit challenging on parking and nice waiting lounge. I never imagined myself leaving a car repair shop a 5-star Yelp review. Mainly because most of my interactions with repair shops leave me with nightmares for days. From ridiculous prices, hidden costs and inflated labor totals, I hate the entire process whenever my car needs work. However, I can say that there is now hope for those of us with German cars. This place is an absolute Godsend. The first time I brought my '13 Audi A8 here, I met Joe and told him I thought the PCV valve needed replacing. He was courteous, knowledgeable and didn't go spewing lingo I didn't understand. Kind of like a good family doctor, he instantly relieved my anxiety and assured me that he would get to the bottom of what was wrong and that he would get it fixed for me. What I wasn't expecting was the excellent combination of quality, service, and pricing that I found with them. This is not the place that tries to nickel and dime you for every cent you have. Instead of insisting that they go ahead and fix a laundry list of expensive maintenance issues on my car, when I went to pick up my car, the second page of the invoice had a list of items that he suggested I consider, along with the prices for each. Joe went over each item with me and told me that some weren't immediately necessary and that I should keep an eye on them and possibly plan (and budget) to have them done in a year or so. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to feel like you have a repair shop and a guy like Joe ON YOUR TEAM when it comes to your car. I left the shop feeling like German Car Care really wanted everything to be right with my car, and not as if they were secretly hoping my car would break down so they could collect the next time it broke down. I have recommended all of my fellow German car owners to them, and I recommend you do the same. When you call, ask for Joe and prepare to have one of the best car repair experiences of your life. Took my 2006 Audi in after doing a teardown myself to fix a major oil leak. I had changed out valve covers, radiator hoses, a lot of other stuff. It had a misfire, so I asked them to find it and do an inspection. Their initial estimate was $1700, which included replacing valve cover gaskets WHICH I HAD JUST COMPLETED. They tried to tell me that Fel-pro is not good??? Sorry, leave it alone. Ultimately, they had the car for almost a month and every few days would call me and tell me something else was wrong and needed more $$'s. The final blow was they told me I needed new struts, that they were blown. They said the tow truck must have done something. I said do not fix it, the car drove fine when I brought it in and I would do it myself later. I called the tow company and they said "no way, we have hydraulic limiters that limit the pressure placed on the car". I picked up the car and it was HORRIBLE!! The front end bounced and it was scary to drive. So they had somehow blown the struts and tried to blame it on the tow company, hoping that I would give them even more $$$'s. The initial bill climbed from $1700 to over $4000!!! I won't take my car back to them. read more

I took my Mercedes in to have it checked out and they told me a needed new windshield wipers so I asked them to replace them. When they did somehow my windshield cracked not there fault but under their care. They said it would take a week to get the windshield and I told them I was headed out of town for a road-trip in my car. They went above and beyond the call of duty and drove to Oklahoma to pick up an authentic Mercedes windshield and had it ready for me 3 days ahead of my schedule. I am so glad I discovered this place shortly after moving to Southlake. Clean reception area, knowledgeable and courteous people with a first class service attitude. Although they don't perform state inspections locally, after performing an annual maintenance on my car they took it down the street for state inspection at cost (ie no markup) while I enjoyed the amenities in their lounge and chattted with another patron. They also offer shuttle rides. I will keep coming back here. read more

I had a clicking sound coming from the front of my car. They tightened all the wheels and then found a loose brake pad. Since the owner knew I do that kind of work they told me what the problem was and didn't charge me a diagnostic fee or anything. They even dropped the car off at my house nearby. The techs are super knowledgeable and the owner is very honest and helpful. I've been to other shops where they try and sell you on service you may or may not need like brake changes and coolant flushes. Not here. I will definitely be back next time my Mercedes has an issue. read more

Just laying behind driver seat. The following week stranding on Dallas freeway. I took it to the Porsche dealership. The right passenger axel was not put on properly. Not only did they fix my car, they also drove it the 150 miles required before you get a smog check and they also took it to get the smog check!... Also, the estimate was half as much as other companies I called to get quotes! Lastly they provide pick up drop off service which was so convenient and saved me to Ubers. Wow, these guys are awesome. I have an older BMW (btw, it is basically self-destructing after it reached 100k) and always had it serviced at the dealer (Sewell BMW which is also an incredible dealership). However, the costs of repairs the car needed were skyrocketing so I decided to try this place. They were incredibly friendly, made essentially the same diagnoses, but charged about a third the cost of the dealer. They use OEM parts for the most part rather than genuine BMW parts, but I'm all for that to save some money. Plus, after one particular repair, I had concerns about a month later and they took the car in and gave it the once over free of charge. I was very blown away with the service from our very first phone call I asked for an estimate, they told me they would call me back. I was skeptical but less than 10 minutes later I had a phone call with a very reasonable estimate for the repairs. I was able to get an appointment pretty fast. We have used German Car Care for our two Porsches and our daughter's VW for several years now. Their pricing is competitive and well under dealer pricing. They recently replaced my brakes and they worked great but were squeaky. After a couple of months, I took the car back in and they immediately replaced under warranty. But what really prompted me to write this review was my most recent encounter. In trying to save some money, I replaced the coolant reservoir on my own with the help of YouTube. I was pretty proud of my work BUT one of my tools fell WAAAYYY down into the engine and after several attempts to get it out (even putting it on a neighbor's lift), I could not. Fearing that my attempt to save some cash was going to backfire, I took my car to GCC and showed them exactly where the tool was located. I knew it would take time to get it out and fully expected to be charged for the labor. They were so gracious and did not charge me a thing!!
