I read the reviews and decided to just try them out. I am all for supporting small businesses. I did not have a positive experience. The low star reviews are SPOT ON! They left my car in worse condition. The story is below. The front desk ladies were sweet, professional and helpful. However, after the initial connection, service went downhill. I went in for an oil change--it costs around $185 (which is about normal or a little less than what I pay at big name shops). Here's what went wrong: 1) their pickup time was off by a few hours (around 4 hours off!). I let them know I couldn't wait as I had prior arrangements. I told them I'd just come back. They quickly told me they couldn't give me my car back because the mechanic was on his lunch break. They then told me the car was lifted and all oil was already drained (I don't believe that for a few reasons). Ok fine, I have no choice--I'll wait. 2) I finally get my car back at close to closing (I dropped my car off in the morning right when they opened). Mind you all I needed was an oil change. That took all day. 3) Usually oil changes come with a wipe down, car wash and vacuum. None of that is included. In fact they left my car FILTHY. There was grit and grime, dirt and finger prints all over the steering wheel. The floor mats were dirty with dirt from the shops outdoor. My console was filthy--maybe from oil or whatever they sat on the console. 4) The worst part: when I got my car back, it was making a squealing noise. I've never heard this noise before. I took my car elsewhere to assess the issue (because I no longer trusted them). Apparently Volvos are finicky and you have to change the oil a certain way in order to avoid destroying some other part (I'm clearly not a mechanic so I don't have the correct terminology). My guess is they knew they messed up my car, but didn't report the damage to me. So, service wasn't timely, they left my car filthy (when I dropped it off it wasn't dirty but I do appreciate the washes that usually come with it), and ruined a part in my engine. To add salt to injury, I reported the issues immediately by both phone and email, yet no one ever called me back to follow up. I was told the owner would contact me, they never did. So an oil change that should have cost $185 ended up costing me about $700 because of the additional repair. I will never go there again. read more

First and foremost, if you are looking for the best German mechanic in north Texas, look no further than here. Marty took a car that had practically been destroyed by incompetence of another non certified mechanic, and worked his magic to save my vehicle. Not only are Marty's prices the best when it comes to German auto, but the service you receive from the moment you walk in the door is top notch. In a digital world, often people struggle to be friendly, that is not the case at German auto, everybody from the front desk staff to the service technicians are not only professional but extremely friendly and skilled. There's a reason in our household there's only one mechanic my father, mother, and myself take our German auto needs too, and that's German drives excellent quality of service, fair pricing, and over all level of customer interaction. Marty and his staff set the standard for excellence, it's German Drives world; others simply can't hold a candle to the level at which these folks operate. When in doubt, take your German auto needs to Marty; if he can't fix it, it simply cannot be done. Did I mention they are a dealer for liquid moly? The best German auto oil there is? Summary of my review "Stay away from this repair shop if you don't want to make things worse for your car". The owner Marty might be a good guy but I don't think he has any control on the quality of his mechanics. He also very forgetful. That's my overall experience with Marty. Mechanics are horrible, they left their tools inside the engine, forgot to put some plastic covers (or lost them), broke some of the clips etc., creating new issues let alone not fixing the issues I went for at the first place. I took my 650 convertible for regular maintenance based on reviews as my other mechanic was not available for few weeks. It was for oil change and rear brake pads change. They said I need to change the rotors as well and I agreed. It cost me about $2k, more than the dealer, but I was ok with it as long as they do quality work. When I get my car back I start getting squeaking noise when I press brakes. I never had this issue in last 5 years of driving this car. Few months later I took for another issue (one of the spark plugs were bad) and I also wanted the Turbo coolent hoses to be replaced as well as they were wearing out. They charged me $3k for these repairs and when I get my car back the car's idle was not smooth (never had this issue before), brakes were still making noice (Marty said he will have it fixed), and the worst part was they didn't replace the coolent hoses even though they changed me for it. I found out about it when I had to remove the engine cover. I called Marty and he said they misunderstood and replaced some other hoses. So bottom line, I paidnthem more than $5k in total for few issues - brakes were not replaced properly, coolant hoses were not replaced, the car has couple of new issues (rough idle, missing few clips). Never taking my favorite car to this shop again. read more

Allow me to save you the time, effort, and research I did to arrive at this conclusion "I wouldn't take our Mercedes anywhere else" and here is why! We are fairly new to Keller, Texas, and probably like you after finding a good realtor we needed to find a good mechanic. Our 2019 Mercedes GLC 300 needed an A1 service so I diligently called about a dozen automotive service centers I found on Google and Yelp, including the local dealership, to inquire about time and costs. German Drive was actually referred to me by one of the other centers that didn't do work on Mercedes. The gentleman gave me their phone number and said "I wouldn't take a Mercedes anywhere else". Melea answered the phone at German Drive. Her Texas accent was cheerful, and she answered my questions confidently and professionally, explaining the costs involved and the time it would take. Melea described the thorough process German Drive uses by taking pictures of all the belts, hoses, tires, filters, and fluids during their full-service inspection. This is far and above the general maintenance involved in the oil and filter changes, the fluid and tire check, and the brake inspection. I booked an appointment for the next morning. The gravel entry to German Drive belies the clean, comfortable air-conditioned offices inside. I met Jackie outside and she politely pointed me to the door that would open up our new home for any automotive work we may need in Texas. Once inside a familiar accent filled the air with a warm Texas greeting. Melia helped get my car checked in and had the batteries replaced in both my key fobs at no charge. Then she got me situated in one of several personal Wi-Fi offices next to the customer waiting room that provided free beverages, coffee, and snacks. The office was clean with a very comfortable chair and work area that was quiet and conducive to getting work done. I also began receiving text messages updating me on the next steps. This is a 5-star service center with incredible customer care. Marty owns and runs his facility "hands-on" with pride and attention to detail, both with his staff and his customers, he is the real deal. His dad was a mechanic and he is an ASE Master Certified Mechanic who insists and pays for his crew to maintain and update their training and certifications. He is a genuine car enthusiast who has worked on every car you can name and many you probably can't! I was beyond impressed. Melea has two sons, one is a former Navy Seal and Jackie's son is a Master Sergeant and will be home this 4th of July. Marty is from Brooklyn but has long since taken roots in Texas. This company is homegrown with all of the modern equipment, computers, and technology to service any make and model car you drive. Marty designed the mechanic's work area so that cars move in one direction and don't have to be backed up, this also provides maximum airflow to his crew who are provided a break room area for rest and showers. Each car bay has a screen that receives updates from the computer related to your specific car. Taking good care of the employees who take great care of your car allows the front office to provide amazing customer care while you wait. These guys have been my "go to" guys for years and have taken excellent car of my Volo XC90 and Mercedes. Highly recommend them.

Extremely negligent, incomprehensive, and borderline scammers. Got a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection) here, and the man "helping me out" was extremely short tempered, rude, and wasn't very efficient at his job in all honesty. The PPI here is FAR from "comprehensive" and "in depth" and at $195.99 you're better of plugging in a $20 scan tool from Walmart. They printed out a bunch of nonsense, and told me I needed a new fuel pump because it was "leaking" and there were "gas fumes" in the car and that he himself had smelt it. Which, was not true as he continues to show me a picture of a fuel pump that IS NOT mine, and when I called him out he said it was "an AUDI fuel pump from another customer." And I drew the conclusion that, in fact, he had never stepped foot in my vehicle. Right from there, red flags are being thrown up. Does it stop there? Nope. On the way home, truck started to shake a bit and make rotor noise at speed. Which, had not been an issue BEFORE I took it in. In addition to this, an Airbag light remains ON in my dash that also was not there before and a light in which they hadn't even detected in the inspection. Sketchy? I'll let you make that call. I wouldn't trust them with my golf cart with a 2cyl. These guys aren't worth your time. Just because your car is European, doesn't mean you need a so called "specialist" to do the work for you. None the less, one that will take advantage of you ever opportunity that arises. Oh, and that "OEM" part they're selling you, probably isn't OEM. I also witnessed the gentleman in the front desk ordering sensors and compression testers off of AMAZON. Save your money, time, and brain cells. Avoid this place like the plague. Your wallet, car, and brain will thank you. read more

Last few time I brought my 2015 bmw here. They forgot to put bolts back and broke the air intake by forcing it in place. I brought it up to their attention and brought the car in for another problem a month later and was told they were going to fix the broken air intake. They had my car for a month and I was not fix. The mechanic that work on my car is either incompetent or doesn't care. Im very dissatisfied with the service and never bringing my car here again. They need to do the job right the first time and make sure everything is put back together the right way. read more

I'm not one to give bad reviews. No one can stay in operation that deserves 1 star ratings. Many times, that's just folks who can't be pleased. However, I took My Mercedes C300 in for the first time this week. I had a shop over in Dallas that I trusted, but needed a shop on the Fort Worth side of town. My car was experiencing loss of pressure in the Airmatic suspension, and it was lowering to the lowest point of the strut. First, the back two wheels lowered. I started up the car and the compressor kicked on, and it raised, although they raised very slowly. A couple of days later, the front two struts did the same thing, but wouldn't raise. The compressor wasn't engaging. Shortly after, the two rear struts lowered, and I knew I had a compressor problem. I called and spoke with the gentleman who stated that I needed to bring the car in for a diagnostic, and then they would determine the fix. After running the diagnostic, I received a call with the "bad news." The diagnostic stated that the two front struts had leaks and had to be replaced. They are about 1200 a piece. Also, the compressor needed to be replaced, another $350. All in all, a $4000 repair. I knew that it was impossible for the front struts to all the sudden get a leak, and that didn't explain why the back struts had also lowered. I was certain the issue wasn't the struts, and asked that they replaced the compressor only, along with the relay. They order the parts, installed and the car raised to the proper height, and it hasn't lowered. There isn't a leak in the struts. Had I not had some mechanical savvy, I would have spent over $3300 more than what was needed to make the repair. I realize that mistakes can be made as it relates to diagnosis, but giving a diagnosis based purely on what the machine says and not on the conditions described by the customer seems a bit shortsighted. This isn't a buyer beware review. I'm sure this is a good shop. As with any automotive shop, it is a good idea to exercise due diligence. I'm not saying, "don't take your car to German Drive," but by their own admission, they had had very little experience with Airmatic suspension, and it looks like that lack of experience lead to a misdiagnosis that could have cost me thousands. read more

They are good at what they do. Especially, ask for Gus he is the owner there who is nice guy. When I first interacted he explained me want the problem was. I had my study done too before seeing him. He stated the same problem but with a good way to approach it. However, i would like to mention that they are busy usually anr work to their convenience. So believe your car will remain there for more than a day no matter how minor the job be. They are definitely experts at their job as well as very reasonable. I took my 2014 Audi R8 to get it fixed and they confidently told me that they would be able to fix it with no problem. This is a 130K car and they were suppose to replace the radiator. They replaced the radiator and didn't put back the radiator fan covers ($500). When they jacked up the car to look at it, they broke both the side panels. The owner said that they would take care of it so i dropped off my car and went home. After couple of days they called me back telling me that it was fixed. I went to pick it up and they didn't fix anything and you can still see the broken cracks on the side panels. Long story short, taking my car to the people i trusted cost me over 1K in damages. This is an average German auto repair shop with above average pricing. On the positive side the work requested was completed in a timely fashion to my satisfaction and they accomplished only the work I authorized. However they did try to subtly to up sell some work that was not required. On the negative side the appearance of the operations look some what disorganized with several dead vehicle on the permises. read more

I took my 2002 BMW 540i in for an unknown fluid leak. They diagnosed the leak quickly and gave me detailed information on where the leak was originating. They gave me a full parts list and quote that was very reasonable in order to complete the work. Very easy to work with and knowledgeable. STAY AWAY!!! Your car will be returned in worse shape than when you brought it I. Gus will be really nice to you and insist you bring it back and when you do you will start having other issues with your car. I know my car like the back of my hand. unfortunately they thought I was just the typical customer with zero mechanical inclination. I found bolts that were undone intentionally to cause other non related electrical issues, I found hose fastener pulled loose to cause leaks. Parts were left off my car or taken. This place was a nightmare. I demanded my money back and Gus would not budge, but he would just act all confused like he had no idea what was going on. I will take this car to the dealer now as my attorney suggested to confirm he change out what he said he did and to confirm it has it's original parts. Please do yourself a favor and stay away, I feel the nice polite treatment is simply his business plan. Bring them in with kindness and screw em in the ass once they have your car. I have never hated a place as much as this. I should have just not been lazy and done the work myself!! Maybe it's his people and he is unaware, but either way you will be sorry you stepped foot in there! I would do negative stats if Yelp would let me but it makes u do 1 as a minimum. read more
