I'm always a little hesitant to go to auto repair shops because part of me is wondering if they're going to rip me off because I don't know much about cars, but Driver's Auto Repair has earned my business from here out! I came in because of a weird sound in my A/C, after a quick look, they removed a piece of paper that has gotten stuck (‍). I also needed an inspection, but needed a light bulb changed first. With any other auto repair shop it would've been a high labor cost plus the bulb. I told them I had the bulb in my glove compartment because I was planning on looking up how to do it to avoid unnecessary costs, but they went ahead and replaced the bulb for free. And since it was my first time visit, they did the inspection for free! I will ALWAYS go here from now on, this is how you run a great auto repair shop! read more

I took my mothers CX5 Mazda for an oil change. After weeks we noticed spots on the ground of our garage. After inspection, I notice not just the fact that their service technician had stripped the drain plug but as well that the car was leaking oil. Furthermore, after taking the car to another place we notice the car had lost more than 1 qt of oil. Please do yourself a favor and take your car somewhere else. read more

$800 vs $20 deceptive practice! My car failed inspection because the brake master cylinder level was noted as below minimum. This caused the computer system to note the brakes were metal to metal. They did not look at the actual pads and rotors. They offered to do a rear brake repair job for approximate $800. Why just the rear? I had the brakes inspected at a different auto service and they noted they were at 30% left, and with a brake fluid fill it passed inspection. I spoke with Drivers again and if they would have added $10-$20 brake fluid, that would have changed to a passing inspection and they new it! Again $800 vs $20 deceptive practice! I asked for an inspection cost refund because of this practice. The answer was a flat no! Not doing business with them again. read more

I came to this location about 6 months ago for a brake job. My first experience was absolutely horrible with a very expensive brake job that I was full of regret and tears. I complained about the horrible service to Jimmy the manager & explained that not only was the job & experience horrible but that I received less than good quality rotors. It took about a month for our schedules to line together BUT they redid my brake job, gave me better quality rotors & back to my 50K mile warranty all for $0 dollars!!!! THAT is what I call world class costumer service! The whole staff were amazing and attentive to my every need, from the gentleman who redid my brakes the beautiful kind red head (Cheryl) who handles costumer service to the manager. I'm a recent widow whose husband took care of the car, so I'm not sure if this is typical. I went to Driver's Automotive in Atascocita for an issue with my car. They couldn't get to it for 2 hours, so I said I wouldn't mind leaving it if I could get a ride home (10 minutes away). He said my problem wouldn't meet the $250 criteria for a ride home. Okay, but could you air up my tire real quick before I leave. My dash had shown a low tire signal on the way here. No, he said he wouldn't take someone off their job to do this. Would rate lower if was allowed. Brought my car to them for brake work. They diagnosed that the car required a new brake master cylinder. I agreed with this and had already suspected that to be the case as there was no leaking brake fluid at wheel cylinders, master cylinder reservoir full, and pumping brakes did not help, so assumed it would be master cylinder and brake pedal to floor not due to air in the hydraulic lines. They replaced the master cylinder, however they did not properly/sufficiently bleed the lines as even though the brakes now work, I had to have another qualified shop bleed the lines. The major issue is that after leaving Drivers, I immediately had a warning light come on, which i had never seen before in the ten years I've had the car. I looked it up and the Manual informed me to park the car as it was unsafe to drive. One of the potential issues is the brake system. Brought the car back to Drivers whereby they claimed it was a coincidence (seriously) and reset the OBC. Drove off and light on again. Back to Drivers and they now diagnose that i need to replace the brake light switch at additional substantial amount Obviously much greater odds that this is pure BS than a coincidence, so i declined further work and brought the car to a qualified European car repair. After being told it would be a few days due to workload, they called me back in a couple hours and informed me it was such an easy diagnosis they got to it right away Drivers had not transferred the brake switch from old cylinder to the new, and there was no switch at all on the new cylinder, and connector cable just left dangling. They ordered and installed new switch on to the cylinder for $160 Meanwhile of course, i called Drivers to see if they still had my old master cylinder so i could get the switch from it They completely denied there was a switch on it, and were very argumentative and emphatic that i was wrong and that the Master cylinder does not even have a switch located on it, even checking their repair diagram Well, they either don't know how to read the drawings or pulled up wrong drawings, or decided s CYA approach to be best I was able to find plenty of documentation supporting the second qualified shops assertion and now have no warning light on the dash after they bought new switch, installed, and plugged in the dangling connector lead read more

I hate this place. For one, they always take such a long time for a simple oil change. They don't even honor appointment times and they are super busy. Their waiting rooms have problems with the a/c, so it doesn't flow well and is about 5-10 degrees hotter than the area where you check in. They make promises to you and then don't honor them. The warranties don't transfer to other Drivers Auto locations, so when one closes down you're out of luck. They say they will honor but they conveniently lose your account so they have no record of what the did. I showed them my credit card statement for brakes I was still paying on and they told me I had to have an actual copy of the receipt which the credit card company couldn't provide. Do yourself a favor and find another place for your vehicle maintenance and care. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Took my car in for a routine oil change and after taking forever they brought my car out to me and were about to let me drive off in it when I noticed a HUGE puddle of oil underneath it. Apparently they put a double gasket on it after the oil change bc the guy wasn't paying attention. They they had to redo the oil change and wash the underside of my car. I noticed some more oil leak spots in my garage when I got home. When I called the manager she said they could look at it but refused to pay for me to take it somewhere else to have it checked out. I popped up around 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I needed to get my car inspection. The manager said they could fit me in. In less than 3 minutes he had my information entered into the computer, took my key and ushered me into the waiting room. In 15-20 minutes he came and told me I was ready to go. My car was waiting at the door with the inspection on the dashboard. I am a repeat customer from last year and I like the fact that I don't need an appointment. It's not always this fast and sometimes you have to wait or make an appointment, but I have been fortunate whenever I go here. I used an online promotion for my oil change. I know everyone is there to make money, but they're too pushy with upselling. When I say no, please don't ask me if I want it again. With the oil change, they inspect other things like the cabin air filter and etc. I replaced one of the filters already and they "recommended" me to purchase a new one. I said no. I did say to change the cabin as it was extremely dirty. It was around another $15 for that, but I really needed it so I didn't mind. Other than that, I wasn't there for more than an hour. read more

My daughter took her car to get an oil changed. She was told $59 over the phone, but ended up paying $80. She was not told, she had an option between synthetic blend $44 or just synthetic $69+misc. When getting an oil change you are told upfront the total cost + taxes. A Malibu can use a synthetic blend, but was told "no her car cannot take synthetic blend". Plus they told her she needed brakes. She just had her yearly inspection done, plus there are no squeaking, which is an indicator brakes are wearing down. This is the second time I've brought a vehicle to Driver's. The first time was a disaster. I took my truck in because the "check engine" light was on. After 24 hours under their care, my truck would no longer start. It took three days to get it back. I understood they have new ownership/management, so I decided to give them another shot. I showed up at 7am, told them I was having an issue with the power steering in my SUV, and even told them what the problem likely was--I needed a new power steering pump. I told the General Manager, Abe, that I was concerned about the time it would take. He said that he would call me as soon as they confirmed the problem and give me a time frame. At 10am (3 hours later), I hadn't heard anything. I called them, Abe answered, and said he was "just about to call me," that it was indeed the power steering pump, and they would work on it "right away." 7 hours later (4pm), I still hadn't heard anything. I called, Abe answered and said that it would be an hour and a half and it would be ready and he would give me a call. An hour and a half later (6:30pm), as you may have guessed, I hadn't received a call. I called the shop, and Abe told me to head to the shop, and that the vehicle would be ready in about 10 minutes. 10 minutes later I showed up. They informed me that they had replaced the power steering pump, and now my vehicle no longer had power steering and they did not know why. Since at this point my SUV had been there about 12 hours, it was too late to find out why tonight, and they would start again tomorrow. If this was the first time this had happened, I would assume that it was a fluke. But they're 2-for-2 now. I'm giving 1 star, and will be updating this tomorrow. Maybe the owners will see this and call me, or maybe I'll be wowed with customer service tomorrow. Who knows? Right now I'm still without our family vehicle for an undetermined amount of time. Update: I wasn't wowed. The next day, they told me the initial repair didn't fix it and it was another issue. They charged me for both. Do not use this establishment. read more

They left it up in the air and repaired folks cars that they were working on. 2 mechanics tried to put my wheels on and they were scooted away to get back to the other cars. I asked them what thier policy was on this and they were rude to me and would not answer my question. After I finally got my car back, drove 7 minutes and saved $400.00. To whom it may concern: Have been to your location multiple times. First time I was charged $1500 for a part that I found out was $200 and $600-$700 for labor. My vehicle was not running properly and un safe, so I took it back a second time saying they were going to charge me $3600 for some fuel injectors they diagnosed that I needed. I decided to check the dealership to see what prices they would give me and their price was $2000. Turns out I did not need the fuel injectors, it was a simple faulty spark plug. I don't recommend this place, I feel that they have overcharged me I would not want someone else to go through what I have been through with this company. read more

Let me first begin by saying I was a loyal customer here for well over 2 years. I've always been treated 1 with respect and honesty. I recently returned to get my oil changed and received the worst service and explanation of the situation. I have a pre-purchased 5 oil changes and tire rotations for 100. Great deal right. Wrong. The customer service person (Craig) told me that it only nock off 20 for each coupon I turned in. I explained that it couldn't be right because of the tire rotation which they never do. I still ended up paying 60 and turned in 3 coupons. In fairness my new vehicle takes a full synthetic. I do mention this because clearly this Drivers Auto has changed ownership. I tried to calm down because the previous regime would have found some common ground or professional explain the situation. I went to get a cup of complimentary coffee and guess what. None! No more! I went into the lounge to just wait for my car. No more! The only channels were channels provided were ethnic non English speaking. The English speaking channels were only home shopping. After the tv episode I asked if the ownership has changed. Craig confirmed. I asked for new management or ownership's phone number which he refused to give me. The only voice I have is not to go back and warn others before supporting this business. My previous experiences here have been over the top with service. Please note that this review is for the Humble location of Driver's Auto Repair. I submitted a request for a quote online, and was contacted shortly thereafter by Jimmy, the Service Manger. Here, I use the adjective "cordial" because that's what fits. Jimmy was polite, professional, and extremely helpful. I brought my truck in the next morning (today) at about 0735 (I know, right? A shop that is open that early!) Now I meet Jake, whose attitude and professionalism seems to mirror those of Jimmy. Jake was happy and able to assist me, and got my truck in for service immediately without an appointment, and I was happy with the quote that was provided. I was getting ready to call for a ride when Jake said, "we'll pay for that", and he ordered me a Lyft on their dime! (For you younger folks, that means they picked up the tab). They called me when the repairs had been completed, and scheduled a Lyft to pick me up and return me to the shop to pickup my truck, to which the work had been completed to my complete satisfaction. In my opinion, this is definitely the way to earn a customers repeat business. read more

Management is awful! Went in to have MY engine cover put back on that they forgot to put back on the last time I was there, and was told I'd have to pay for the labor. After spending $800 on a service on my engine, I then have to pay for the labor to put something back on that they should have replaced in the first place. Not only did this happen, I was never called and told they still had my engine cover, I found this out myself. The service was not the great. They charged my double the price what it should have cost to replace the water pump. They also put services on the tick that were not done. They said the change the thermostat but the bolts and area of the thermostat where never touched on my inspect when I got the car home. They also stated they replaced the fan belt / water pump belt. It was the same one that was on the car when I drove it to the shop. I will never recommend this place for any repairs of any kind to anyone. I will also never use their service again. Being ripoff once was enough lesson learned. Shame on you Drivers Auto. I was $226.37 to remove and replace the thermostat which was not done. Brough my car for an oil change and after coming home I noticed it was leaking. I had to wait until Monday to bring it in since it's closed on Sundays. When I first called they told me to bring it in but I was never told what days I could bring it in. I rushed after work and I was told the only guy that could take a look at it doesn't work on Monday's. I came back later that week and I missed the guy by a few mins. Finally, brought it in later that week, first thing in the morning and by this time, my car was indicating I needed an oil change. Turns out I needed to replaced the drain plug. Got that done and after 3 weeks or so, my car indicated I needed an oil change AGAIN! Brought the car and I was told me it wouldn't take that long since it's been an inconvenience. Turns out I needed another new drain plug. They are not great at communicating, while I wait and wonder why it's taking so long. Waited 2hrs, when I was told it would be 30mins. I expected better customer service and a more sense of an urgency to get me in and out, since I've been hear 5 times now for ONE oil change. read more

I showed up for a state inspection. I was told it would be an hour or shorter. An hour and a half later I asked when my inspection would be done. I was told with attitude that there were people in front of me. I asked for my keys and got more lip. I asked for my keys again and everyone treated me like I am the bad guy. I turn to walk away and was told, "We were just about to pull your vehicle in." I gave back my keys and the manager wanted to know why I was "causing a scene". Unprofessional from top down. Well I had high hopes for this place. Bought a used Toyota FJ and took it here to get alternator replaced, Tune up, oil change and differential oil changed and general over all inspection of the vehicle. I had requested that the belt be changed if needed and was assured they would take care of it. I went to pick the vehicle up and then they realized the oil still needed to be changed so had to wait on that, they did do it for free, a plus there. I drove the vehicle to work the next day and hear some noise under the hood (noise that wasn't there the day before). I get to work and open the hood to find my belt has a chunk coming off of it and is slapping on something causing the noise. Now I was told by #Driver's that the belt was in good condition? So is it just very bad timing, did they not check what they said they did or did somebody do something to the belt? you be the judge. Anyhow I have to take it to a reputable place and get the belt fix as I do not trust Driver's did what they said they did. My wife went here to get her AC looked at and literally after 2 minutes of looking at it they claim the compressor was bad and quoted her 1000 in repair, I suggested we go somewhere else and found out that she just needed freeon... Went here because the epc light came on in my car. The guy said he would run the diagnostics and print me out a full report with codes that were wrong so I could get it fixed. They charged me $25 for 4 lug nuts after initially trying to sell them to me for $38. I went in for my State Inspection and their machine wouldn't connect to my car. (No problem anywhere else before) They had me come back the next day to try again and it still it wouldn't work. At least I received $25 worth of over-priced lug nuts. Avoid Drivers Auto like the plague. They will try to rip you off. Read all the reviews. The negative ones are absolutely true. I brought my truck in today for an oil change. I also knew that it was leaking anti-freeze, and I let them know at check-in. I told them that I was fine with running the diagnostic to find out where the leak was coming from, as I already knew that it would be necessary to repair it. I got a call later saying that it would be $480 to replace two tubes and clamps, plus $55 for the oil change. They tried to tell me that I also needed A coolant flush, and to refill the coolant. He told me that the coolant that was in there was really dirty. My dad and I had just refilled the coolant about two weeks prior due to the leak. It was completely empty at that time, and completely empty again when I dropped the truck off. How can the coolant be dirty, if there's no coolant in the tank? I also let him know that due to being aware of the leak, I had two brand new bottles of coolant at home, and I could refill it myself. I was prepared to pay around $480 for the repairs and $55 for the oil change, totaling around $535 total. It was over $700 when I was told my bill! He told me there was an additional fee to fill up with antifreeze. Why, when I informed you that I had two bottles at home?! This fee was not discussed with me on the phone. Also on my bill was $56.83 in "Total Fees" that could not be answered what for either. Now I learned the hard way not to go to Driver's! I know the work they do is good, but I obviously cannot trust them to be honest about the price. read more

My car Honda Accord 2009 got fixed (Replaced Front & Rear Brake Pad and Rotors) from Driver's auto repair Jones Road location and they charged me $800 (which is 4 times over price) and give me 50000 miles / 24 Months warranty on it.I got the same issue after few months and now the guy terry (whom he called himself manager) he schedule an appointment for next day to drop my car which i went but no one showed up over there. Long in short they said it's not brake issue. Keep it mind i took my car to dealer before to driver's auto shop. They checked and told me that my car need a replace of front brake pads and rotors. I showed manager about what the dealer diagnose and they don't accept on that. My husband took my mothers 2009 Nissan Murano to repair brake problems. He had bled the brakes and replaced the master cylinder himself and her brakes were still not functioning properly. Driver's recommended they bleed the brakes after my husband saying he had already done that and sure enough that did not resolve the problem. They then recommended changing the master cylinder. He was told that because bleeding the brakes did not fix the problem there would be no charge. The master cylinder turned out to be the problem however the bill was 770.00. Nissan didn't even quote a charge that high. My husband authorized the repair thinking he knew what a job like that was supposed to cost give or take a few bucks. He never thought it would turn out to be more than a dealership charge. I went to the manager Jimmy and explained that this was pretty expensive for a 2hour job. He took 50 dollars off. That helped but that is still several hundred dollars over dealership prices for the same service. Make sure you get a quote first! read more

Called to schedule a dashboard light check of the ABS system diagnostic and fix for a State Inspection. Linda stated that if I dropped off the car the next day before 8:30 am I would be given priority. When dropping off the car the next day before 8:30 am Linda stated that it would take them a couple of hours to conduct a diagnostic. I explained that before they conducted the State Inspection I had to replace license plates as they had just changed recently. Linda agreed and stated that in any case the State Inspection could not be done that very same day because the car needed to be driven at least 3 days or 50 miles after resolving the root cause of the ABS dashboard light (enough time for me to replace the licence plates). 9 hours later Linda stated they had not been able to conduct the diagnostic because the technician was very busy. An hour later, they called me and stated that the car was ready for pick up. When I arrived to pick up the car, they reported that they had conducted the diagnostic and drove test the car and found no issues and they went ahead and conducted the "State Inspection." and that it PASSED. They charged me $108 Total for 30 minutes of diagnostic and the State Inspection. As I drove out the lot the the brake system felt faulty again and the ABS dashboard light came up immediately again. I went back immediately and Linda admitted that when she was pulling the car to the front of the shop she also felt the brakes where not working properly and in consultation with the technician then they stated that "I had to bring the car back for a thorough evaluation." When attempting to Renew Vehicle Registration, it could not be completed because the State Inspection was conducted with the old license plates. Despite advising Linda that I needed to replace the license plates before the inspection, they went ahead and conducted the State Inspection after they initially stated that the State Inspection could not be done before driving the vehicle for 50 miles / 3 days. I called to ask what could be done to update the license plates for me to be able to renew my registration and Linda stated that the state inspection had to be redone and I had to pay for it again because it was my fault for not having the updated license plates in the vehicle at the time of the state inspection. I could not understand how could it be my fault after 1) when dropping off the vehicle for an ABS light diagnostic I clearly stated that I needed to replace the license plates before the state inspection was conducted and 2) Linda said they could not do the inspection after the ABS light root cause had been fixed and 50 miles driven/3 days passed. Linda was VERY rude and stated that she did not care what she or I said when I dropped off the vehicle that the fact was that it was my fault for not having the license plates at the time of the inspection. Overall after $108 paid, the ABS system light root cause was not identified, the State Inspection is useless because it was done with outdated license plates. Linda demonstrated no CUSTOMER SERVICE skills at all and I had the WORST experience after being a customer for over 7 years. read more
