These guys were a joke. They are disorganized, and promise the world, but deliver very little. They have no idea what the status of your project is, always say they will have to call you back, but never return calls. You have to give them a CC number to start the process, and they just seem to add charges to it. After $2500 in data recovery fees -- they put a bunch of junk data on a drive (that they charged me for) and said that was the best they could do -- never mind that I gave them drives to put the recovered data on. These guys provided an estimate for recovering data from my crashed hard drive. Very very expensive. They then called and said it was going to be more. At the end of this nightmare they charged me $1700! Which was $600 more than the "oh this is going to be harder than we thought" price. I've used DriveCrash on two separate occasions, both with excellent results. Lou was very forthcoming in laying out costs and the processes involved. We had an 80GB eSATA drive fail (can you even BUY an 80GB hard drive nowadays?) but Lou was able to track down parts for the drive and obtain a list of recoverable files. These were sent to us on an external hard drive and we were satisfied with the recovery process. In some instances, data recovery may happen overnight, in ours, we had to wait for parts for our specific drive to arrive. DO NOT TRUST! We received a quote for $1,500 - $3,600 to recover data. We told them we didn't want to recover the data if it was going to cost too much. They said they would look at the drive, and let us know the cost before doing any of the recovery. They moved forwhttps://www.yelp.com/guidelinesard with the recovery, without telling us how much it might cost other than the original quote. $5,600 later, we retrieved 90% of the data. HOWEVER, they neglected to tell us that it was 90% of the data over all of the lost files, NOT 90% of all files. SO, most of the files were completely UNUSABLE. Had we know it would be more than the HIGH end of the quote, AND that we would receive only partial data on each file, we wouldn't have proceeded, WHICH IS WHAT WE SAID ORIGINALLY. Either they are just incredibly bad at communicating, and do not value a "quote" (55% over quote), or they are just wanting to take your money at all cost. read more

My daughter called in tears. Sunday night of finals week and her external crashed. The external that held all her research papers, final assignments and study notes for all the upcoming finals. I would not recommend DriveCrash to save your data. Not because they can't save your data, but they will swindle you out of hundreds of dollars. Scammers, Liars, Robbers, they have you by the short hairs and you're screwed! STAY AWAY! I had an iPod that died, and it had family photos of my children growing up and now departed father. I lost a lot of family photos in a divorce/move, and it was really important to me to try to retrieve these photos, even if it wrecked the iPod. I called DriveCrash, got an OK vibe from a guy called Lou, and sent it in. Didn't hear a word from them. Called a week later and Lou says they tried the usual repairs, didn't work, and that now they need $190 to send it to a clean room lab to find out if they can get the data. That $190 would be applied to my total. I ask "how confident is your technician that he can retrieve the data?" Lou says 80 - 90%. So I say OK. A week goes by - no word. I e-mail Lou asking him for an update, and he calls me and leaves a message saying that he's been trying to get a hold of me all week. I work retail and can't get on my phone during the work day, but the guy NEVER LEFT A FRIKKING VOICE MAIL MESSAGE until I e-mail him asking for a status. I call him back and he tells me that the good news is that they can retrieve my photos, but it's going to take about 9 hours of work at $98 an hour!!!!!!!! I freak out, saying that I never in my wildest dreams would have thought it could have cost that much and there was no way I was going to pay that, please send the iPod back. He says, well, it's too late for that, the technician has already put in a significant amount of time. He says "You can't put the genie back in the bottle". HIGHWAY ROBBERY! I dropped my external hard drive that I use for photos on my laptop. Unfortunately, it's was my only drive that is not backed-up. Because of the extent of the damage, it is a more complicated recovery than normal, but they kept working on it till they recovered everything. Totally waste of time and money, I called right away after dropped my Lacie Quadra on the floor, they told me it's going to be fine, around $95 dlls an hour, should take about 2-4 hours, sounds good to me, I send it here instead LaCie "error" they call me to say it was going to be 1700 on top of 500 that I paid down so they can start working on my drive, I agree, but they start taking forever to get back to me, most of the time they say they're were working on the drive, but it's going to take more time at the point that it doesn't worth for me wait and pay that much so I ask them to just send the drive back to me the way I was, I get my drive back home two months later! They could see that there was data on the mother board, but it was getting too hot for them to get my 4000+ pictures (several vacations - that weren't backed up) off. So happy someone referred me to DriveCrash. Mike did an amazing job with a quick turnaround at a very reasonable price. Great customer service too. I inadvertently deleted some important Microsoft user files on my MAC when I emptied my Trash. I fortunately did a file back up a week earlier but after several phone calls with Apple and Microsoft tech support, the file I needed was apparently missing from my back-up and lost forever, so I thought. Next, a 20 minute session with a help desk inside a big-named electronics store where I was told they would have to send out my computer to their main tech center which could potentially cost around $1,000 for the data recovery after all is said and done. On top of that, I would have to part with my computer for 7 to 15 days. My deleted files were important but not at that price. DriveCrash performed data recovery on my computer after a tech made an error. DriveCrash was able to recover large amounts of data but as I learned data recovery is not a pretty business and you don't get everything no matter how hard you try not to write anything onto the disc. Data recovery is not cheap and having a regular back up system is by far a less expensive process. I learned the hard way. I had a backup but it was dated. DriveCrash was able to recover a large amount of the data. Additionally, Louis and the DriveCrash staff pooled together to make a second pass to try to recover some extremely important data. They did not charge me extra for this. Drive Crash was able to recover data that programs such as Recuva was not. The DriveCrash staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable as they have clients such as NASA, Boeing, etc. If they have one area of improvement it would be communication. I had to call them to learn the computer was ready each time they had it. Remember....BACKUP! read more

They are also known as Ai Networks ... both companys are the exact same people, place, numbers etc. So with that I HIGHLY Recommend you AVOID these places at all costs!! They are abunch of scammers, who bait and switch and lie and try to do anything to get your money. They told me $95 an hour and would be like $400, and after two weeks of no calls from them i decided to see what was going on. I brought my drive here only to get the run around, the guy Lou Zeleznik (acted really dopey) had no idea what he was talking about and neither did the older gentleman behind the front desk. They kept saying they had a cleanroom and my drive was in it, but then when i wanted to get my drive back they were screwing me around, they said it was at their lab. Which i stated im coming to pick my drive up right now, and they said i cant it will take 3 days to put my drive back together ... it takes 3 days to walk in the back and get my drive? I demanded i was coming in and they wouldnt give me my drive back ... to which i expect it wasnt even there. who knows where they really sent it, but none of them had a clue what was going on. They all acted really dumb and tried to feed me more lies. So i came back 5 days after and picked up my drive after they so called got it finished up in the lab ... nothing was touched on it!!! no markings, no label removed or touched, has the factory void seal on the side still never been touched. They then had the audacity to try and charge me a $300 fee. a $300 fee for doing what?! nothing but lieing to me and saying they did stuff they didnt do? I took my drive to another company who on the spot told me what was wrong with it, and 3 hrs later it was done! wish i had gone their first and saved myself the time. read more
