Fun for all ages. I've been coming to Drive Shack for years. It is a great place for golf enthusiasts but the computerized games, other cool games, and vibe here can entertain anybody. Venue: multiple floors and has bays - bays either include high top tables or lounge sofa with table. Huge complex with full bar and other entertainment items. Basic Golf clubs are provided for each bay. Food: well, I can't say they have good food here but don't really come here for food. Although it would be awesome if they can improve their food menu and quality. Tried their nachos (not in menu anymore), sliders, pretzel sticks, fries. Very mediocre at best. Beers on tap change different season. I thought espresso martini was pretty decent. Service: it's mostly great but once in a while there is a "miss" on service: long wait, forgetting order etc usually on busy weekend. But most staffs are very friendly and eager to help. Price: I hate the bay price here. It's very pricey especially on the weekend for 2 people. 2 hour play is $100- if you order food and drinks, it adds on quick. and there is a tip slot counting the bay price. This establishment is a joke! I brought my family here while they were visiting from out of town and from the moment we sat down, it felt like we were being singled out. Our server, Claira, checked our IDs when we ordered food and drinks - which is fine - but after we had already been waiting about 20mins a manager named Jackson came over and asked to check our IDs once again. He proceeded to bend them and closely inspect them over and over before walking away without saying a single word! He came back shortly after and said we could not be served because 2 of the IDs seemed "fake". For context, we are all well over 21. I'm 25, and my cousin is 24. There was no real explanation given beyond his personal judgment. We even suggested scanning the IDs to verify them, but they don't have a system in place to actually authenticate identification. So essentially, the decision was based purely on assumption. To clarify, we didn't see them go to anyone else's table to do this. Mind you, we are people of color who were just trying to have a good time. We had to leave only 40mins into the game, ruining our nights and they did nothing to make things right. This was my first time coming to Drive Shack and it was for a birthday party. Golf was fun but the service was terrible. Girl in glasses got our drink order and then never came back even after saying she'd be back for our food order. Every time we needed a refill or more food we'd have to hunt her down. I experienced Drive Shack on a cold Saturday evening. Our waiter was welcoming and helpful when we asked for help. I enjoyed the pepperoni pizza and a dirty Shirley temple. The games were okay. There was at least one that was glitchy. The service was a bit slow sometimes although it wasn't crowded. I did enjoy my company and I think Drive Shack is a great go to option for a gang. read more

Highly unprofessional. I'm from NYC and never been treated this way back home. I came to visit my family and they suggested going to Drive Shack. This would have been our second time. Our waiter, Claire, came over to check our ID's....no problem. 5 minutes later, Lucas comes over to check our ID's. Mind you, it's 5 of us, he starts bending all 5 of our ID's...Weird but we have nothing to hide. We're all over 21 and so far have been respectful. He leaves, we continue playing our game. 5 minutes later, Lucas returns and tells us unfortunately due to "previous incidents", he doesn't trust that our ID's are real. We immediately ask him the reasoning why and all he can tell us is that it doesn't seem like our ID's are real. 2 of us are from out of state so ofc we dont have North Carolina ID's but again....we are over 21 and have nothing to hide. How can we trust one guy to say that all 5 of our ID's are fake?!? There was no scanner and no proper system to authenticate. We tell him it's unprofessional to not even have a scanner to check our ID's, we'd like a refund and to speak to the manager, he tells us that the GM is "swamped" and won't come out to talk to us. We first spoke to Lucas, then manager Jackson then finally, after 30 minutes, GM Sean came out to talk to us. I'm from NYC visiting my family in Raleigh and I'm never coming back to this establishment because of how my family and I were treated by: Claira or Claire - our server Lucas - the first manager Jackson - second manager Sean - the general manager We left this establishment with an hour and 20 minutes left to play. For context it's 5 of us over 21. Claira or Claire (not sure what her name was) took our orders of food and drinks and then just gave us 3 waters even though there were 5 of us. We only saw her twice. Lucas comes to check our IDs and said 2 of us had fake IDs simply by looking at the IDs. Why aren't there scanners? Why didn't Claira check our IDs? Did she just give us 3 waters because she thought 2 of us had fake IDs? How can we trust Lucas' judgement of the IDs? He told us this and then we decided to cancel everything. We're leaving and we're told we'll get a refund. We wanted to speak to Sean the general manager. Jackson another manager comes and tells us Sean the GM is busy and can't meet. Sean comes and tells us he just heard about this (WE CANCELLED EVERYTHING 30 minutes BEFORE SEEING THE GM) and he said we should trust the judgement of Lucas for IDs. HAVE ID SCANNERS IF YOURE AFRAID OF FAKE IDs. Just looking at a group of beautiful and young adults and judging our IDs are fake by bending them and looking at them for 30 seconds is RIDICULOUS. We were there for 40 minutes and NEVER GOT FOOD and only 3 waters because of 2 fake IDs? After cancelling it took 30 minutes to see the GM, so unprofessional. Everyone told us a different story and only said sorry with no way on how to prevent this in the future. read more

We swung by drive shack to end my friend's birthday night. We reserved a lane for 2 hrs for the 5 of us. We unfortunately couldn't get the 2nd floor and had to play from the first floor even with a prior reservation which was disappointing. Nevertheless, we did have fun. The service was slow as the server took a long time to take our orders. The prices are reasonable for food and drinks though. Not sure if I will visit again. read more

Came here for the first time, this place is near identical to TopGolf. We had to wait almost an hour and a half for our bay. It may have been weather related as to why this place was so busy. Overall the experience was decent, but the service for foot and drink needed a little more attention. When our food came out, only three of our four orders came out. We had to wait nearly another 20 minutes for an overcooked burger to come out. Plus the server never brought utensils for us so our food was getting cold while we had to wait for basic needs. Besides 15 extra credit minutes given to us by our waiter no further credit was offered for the mishaps. Not sure if this is poor communication or the workers being over worked and unable to keep up. The clubs seem a little on the low end, the drive grip was slippery and difficult to feel you had control while swinging. I'd come back but hope for a better experience next time. read more

Finally a Top Golf competitor! The experience is nearly identical and it's definitely intentional. The facility uses trackman branded tracker, and has a better overall UI and ability to sync your own trackman account across other facilities. The bays are still fairly pricey, about $45 an hour, but it's still a lot of fun. Our bay was having issues with loading our profile, so our server Diego, sorted that out and moved us to a new bay next door. When the trackman game started glitching, he credited our account, without question, for the inconveniences. The service from Diego was exemplary compared to the service at other places! read more

I understand a busy day but communicate that to your table. They took forever to deliver everything. The drinks. The food (which never came). Them checking on us. There was zero hustle. To make matters worse, the party beside us kept hitting balls into our section. One hit me in the head while I was on the couch. There was no concerns or offers. First time there today! Golfing was fun! The atmosphere was nice and the games were also pretty cool. The food was horrible. I ordered the pesto chicken wrap and it came with fries. The fries were cold and I asked for fresher ones and they just brought out the same batch. The wrap was not good either, mostly lettuce, no chicken at all. I've been here a couple times for company events. The food is okay, served buffet style and this last time was of the taco bar variety. Healthy options probably have to be negotiated by the company, but regardless of that, the food was decent, but nothing to write home about. Drinks were pricey. Not much really to say - it's a glorified driving range with bar service. We used the clubs provided by the Shack, but I would have preferred my own clubs. The ball feeders are finicky, very finicky. Anyway, As long as the company keeps coming back here for meetings and a day of hitting golf balls with our coworkers, I'll keep coming back. read more

Went here for the first time for my boyfriend's birthday and we had a ball!!! The food was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. Great atmosphere as well. My only complaint is that it took over 30 minutes for us to be able to order and have someone explain how the games work, and that was only because we got impatient and flagged someone down. read more

Sooo glad that I decided to celebrate my birthday at Drive Shack. The online reservation process is super easy and showing up was easy as well. The staff were very warm and welcoming and they did not require all of my guests to be there to go to our bay--most of my friends did not show up until 9:30 when the reservation started at 9pm. Andrea was our waitress and she was so helpful. Because it was my birthday I got a free cookie skillet which was super yummy! She brought this out and helped us get set up with the games. My friend and I started to play and sip on the delicious long islands we ordered! I tried a couple of swings before my friends showed up and we added them to the game. We played, checked out the menu, and ordered more food and drinks. Unfortunately the spicy Hawaiian pizza I ordered tasted and looked like cardboard with sauce and cheese on it. It was super dry and not good. However, Andrea was super nice about it and I replaced this seasoned fries. The food fiascos continued as three sets of wings that requested sauces on the side did not occur. Andrea ended up taking these off of our bill. A burger was over grilled and super dry. Overall the food was just not good and something was going on badly in the kitchen. Andrea was wonderful through all of this and she made our night! As far as golfing we had a good time, but we discovered none of us are future professional golfers, but that was not the point. The point was to have fun and we so did! Second time coming here, the first being a work thing. This time I went with my 2 teen sons. Honestly had a great time. There are 2 types of people that come here, regular golfers who want to work on their game and those who say "wouldn't it be hilarious if we went to hit some golf balls?" We came to town this weekend for the NC state football game. This location is 1 mile from the PNC arena & Carter Finley Stadium. We were unable to make online reservations so decided to try walking in. Masks are currently required while inside. We were immediately assigned a bay on the 2nd floor. They were having some technical difficulties on our arrival but they were able to reset & get things moving in a few minutes. My husband & I have visited the Drive Shack in West Palm Beach. We love playing ShackJack! Our server, George, was amazing! George was always around when we needed something & quick to deliver. We ordered two rounds of drinks & a couple appetizers to share. The boneless Buffalo wings were nice & saucy with the perfect amount of ranch on the side. We enjoyed starting our days crushing balls at Drive Shack with cocktails & appetizers. I love how beautifully modern this location is. I enjoyed 2 games of Shack Jack 21. It's like Black Jack for golf ! The game that keeps going according to the card game Black Jack. It's so much fun keeping points and scoring a Shack Jack bonus. You can order food and drinks with service at each bay. There are heaters above each bay if you are chilly. A group of four of us arrived and checked in. Since we had never been there before we were greeted and told to go upstairs to a certain level and bay. As we were awaiting someone to help us they arrived and we asked how it worked. As the gal took our drink order then she showed us how to get the balls out. However that did not work. She left to get us a bucket of balls to use manually. We asked if we could use the next bay over and she said yes but someone else would be our server. We went over and tried hitting the balls and after the first few balls came out that did not work. And the equipment actually fell apart. We had a new server and asked about it. We stayed for one hour and checked out. As we left we told the three employees who had welcomed us initially that since it was our first time we were disappointed (although we did make it fun) that the equipment didn't work. They did not seem dismayed and said they were sorry. Sorry but I personally will find another brand of entertainment to try this fun way to socialize elsewhere. Will not be returning. I came here for a small birthday party. The server was very good/attentive! Taught a few of us how to hold and swing a golf club. With golfing and decent food (nachos and wings), we had a good time. You are given a 2 hour slot reservation but able to extend. You add players on the screen, select game, select your golf club, and then start playing. Overall had a great time. The only downside is the smell a little funny in the building, ?maybe the cleaning agent. However the majority of time you spend outdoors. Decided to give this place a shot instead of our usual Top Golf because it's $15 cheaper by the hour, but we quickly discovered why. We arrived right on time for our reservation and our bay was filthy. They started cleaning up when we arrived which meant we were awkwardly standing there while we waited for them to clean. When it came time for the games, they were just okay. We were having alot of technical issues and the variety is subpar. We were served water in small Dixie-sized paper cups and were never given a single refill the entire two hours. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and french fries which were disappointing in flavor. The pepperoni had a weird, off-putting taste, almost freezer burnt kind of flavor. The fries were also cold and soggy. It took almost an hour for our food to come and it sent me running immediately to the bathroom 4-5 times after consumption. This is a very nice place to practice your golf swing. By the time we were done, I was able to clear the first row at will. Getting to the second row needed more time. I am granting 3/5 stars as my initial bill was much higher than it should have been. After the waiter came back from chatting with his manager, he said we had been there since 5:30 PM when, in fact, we arrived at 7:25 PM for a 7:30 PM reservation. I also advised him that a required deposit of $90 had already been paid, he had to again go to his manager to have the bill adjust. The third time he came back, the bill was acceptable. In addition, the available games were not conducive to having fun. They were excellent for someone with a more experienced swing and notsomuch for the rest of us in the party. Food options and drink options were adequate. I had already eaten so I opted for the Watermelon Mimosa that was very refreshing, perhaps a bit sweet. read more

This place is a lot of fun! It's a driving range attached to a bar-restaurant. My family and I are the worst golfers, and we even thought this was fun. We booked a bay for $47 an hour for 2 hours. There was a comfy arrangement of sofas next to the range. We ordered loaded nachos and wings and draft beer. It was so relaxing and fun. They also have tvs everywhere. The server even gave us golfing pointers, which was much appreciated. I've been here a couple times in the last few months and we always have a great time. It's best to have a reservation but you can absolutely just walk in. The longest we've waited is 10-15 minutes, and they'll text you when your bay is ready so you can spend that time wandering around or getting a drink at the bar. The wait staff will come by frequently to take your order and bring snacks and drinks directly to your table. They have a decent selection and although it's not gourmet food, we've always found it tasty while golfing. We've mostly lucked out, but it can be tough if you're bay is at the edge of the range simply because the ball trackers don't work 100% of the time at the edges. Overall it is a great place to come for an hour or two of fun, but it can get expensive quickly so plan accordingly. read more
