I've been here a couple times in the last few months and we always have a great time. It's best to have a reservation but you can absolutely just walk in. The longest we've waited is 10-15 minutes, and they'll text you when your bay is ready so you can spend that time wandering around or getting a drink at the bar. The wait staff will come by frequently to take your order and bring snacks and drinks directly to your table. They have a decent selection and although it's not gourmet food, we've always found it tasty while golfing. We've mostly lucked out, but it can be tough if you're bay is at the edge of the range simply because the ball trackers don't work 100% of the time at the edges. Overall it is a great place to come for an hour or two of fun, but it can get expensive quickly so plan accordingly. read more

Horrible experience. Went this morning at 11a to rent a bay for an hour for 4 people. Instead of paying $30, we were required to pay for the "promo" which was $20/pp for up to 3 hours even though we only wanted to be there an hour. So we had to pay $80 for an hour on a Monday morning. Manager said "that is the deal and we have to live with it" or we could just leave even though the website said you could rent a bay by the hour anytime. Definitely false advertising. I will not be going back. Service was meh. Food overpriced as usual. Customer service was horrific. read more

This place is so fun! I actually wasn't aware it was the same exact set up as Top Golf (I assumed worse) so I was pleasantly surprised. This is the perfect place to come with family, friends, coworkers, or a date! Games, drinks, food, and music! It's big, spacey, beautiful, and gives me a futuristic feel. 4 stars just because the food is not good at all. If you look at my pics the food and presentation look amazing but the taste and quality is just not there. All this place needs is a new menu and some new chefs and it would be the best of the best. I visited Drive Shack yesterday to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We are new to NC and haven't explored much and were looking for something fun and new to do together (we play PGA together on Xbox but have never actually hit golf balls together in reality). Drive Shack is a three story driving range with semi-private bays. You can reserve a bag or walk in but I highly recommend either getting reservations or showing up within an hour of opening. We showed up at 11am on a Sunday and only waited 15 minutes for our bay to be set up. The facilities are clean and bright. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. The drinks and food were fantastic. The third floor was kind of empty but we were super early. I'm sure it gets busy later on. There's cornhole, a few arcade games, and shuffleboard on the third floor along with an outside bar and seating. Our bay attendant was Ashley and they were AMAZING! They really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, hydrated, and fed. The bay itself is nice. There is a heater and a fan that you can control, golf clubs, and padded seating. There's a coffee table and hand sanitizer as well. As for the game itself, we were quite surprised that this isn't your average golfing range. There are games that you can play that make it even more fun. The tracking system is phenomenal, even with all of the other bays around. We didn't have any issues. My husband and I played darts, blackjack, monsters, a golf course, and hot shot. Each game is about 30 minutes but with two people, we were able to play 5 games within 2 hours. The pricing is pretty reasonable, $29/hour for a bay (not per person). We had such a great time and will definitely be back! read more

So it is definitely a fun activity but it is highly dependent on the server/workers at the time. I've had some absolutely amazing experiences in the past, but recently I've had some pretty frustrating ones twice in a row. The first one was as there was a group of three of us just hanging out. We took out a couple extra balls as we didn't want to have to wait between shots for the dispenser for too long as it was being kind of glitchy. The worker came by and told us the rule that we couldn't have more than one ball out at a time and that we have to hit the ones we've dispensed before getting any more out. We apologized and obliged to the request and were very friendly and compliant, as we do understand there are rules and honeslty it's not that big of a deal. What was annoying though is that for the rest of the night she watched us like a hawk, just appearing and staring us down constantly in the bay next to us, even though we were doing absolutely nothing, just hitting the balls, hanging out and talking. At one point she even got mad at us as even though we'd all been a few times we aren't too great and just play for fun, and miss a few shots every once in a while. She angrily stared at us and scolded us telling us that we were only allowed to use the tee if we were using the driver and just overall she was being fairly unfriendly, mean, and just ruining the whole experience. Again we've all been in the past and typically the workers are plenty of fun, give great advice, and make the experience plenty enjoyable. The second one was a couple nights ago when my group was ordering drinks, our server came and informed us that the bar was closing soon so we should get orders in. We said sure and one of us asked for another drink. To that the server said that we had to finish the first drink. We were a bit confused as we know about this rule, but the glass was practically empty, like maybe half a sip and some ice. She just refused, so we had to absolutely drain the two drops left in the glass before she took our order. Was just frustrating and she was also quite rude when talking to us, like somewhat condescending and acting as if we were stupid. Idk what's been happening, but while everything else about this place has stayed true, the service recently has just gone downhill. Also for context these two experiences were not even on busy nights, fairly sure both were on weeknights. read more

I really enjoy top golf, so when my friend invited me to a company Christmas party & it was at drive shack I was all over it. Definitely a good time, full bar, good food, and great service. As someone who's never golfed or been to a facility like this it was a great time! It seems like something that both novices and avid golfing enthusiasts can enjoy. It's a very impressive facility from the outside and inside. All the staff were incredible helpful and friendly. The wings were great. Perfectly crispy and flavorful. I manage a small program of hard working guys and we decided to give this a try for our holiday party. We all had a blast. None of us are golfers but it was easy enough to pick up and the games made it very engaging. I would definitely come back here again. Very fun! Glad to have Drive Shack in Raleigh as a fun alternative to the driving range. I came earlier in the day, and the rate was only $25/hour for the whole bay, up to 6 people. It's a really good deal. There was hardly anyone there, so we didn't have to wait at all, we were quickly attended to by our friendly server, Paul, who explained how everything worked. It was a little chilly that day, so Paul turned on the overhead heat lamps and the seats also had heated cushions. It was awesome. If you check in on Yelp, there is a deal for free pretzel sticks, and they were delicious - definitely recommend them for a simple check in. The games were pretty fun - my friend and I ended up playing the darts game as well as hit on one of the virtual courses. We ended up spending about 1.5 hours there, and felt like that was plenty of time. I'll be back! Definitely worth it for the early bird pricing. read more

This was a fun place for a work team outing and I enjoyed the visit. Being familiar with Similar type of places in other parts of the country I was pleasantly surprised by the games and software that enabled newby golfers to have some fun with more experienced golf nuts. Our server Euphrates was very nice and attentive. The beers were cold and refreshing til it cooled off a bit. The only thing someday lacking was the Mexican buffet. The chicken was fine but the steak was tough and dry. The spices choices were mild or too hot. I flew in from California so the Carolina Mexican wouldn't have been my choice anyhow. I got BBq the next night so Raleigh shined there. It's a fun place to play some golfing games, with nice staff so overall it was a good experience and fun for a group get together. read more

For someone who's never played golf and lacks any athletic ability, I found Drive Shack entertaining and a fun experience. I recommend making a reservation, especially during peak times. The bays check all the boxes: covered, 3 big screen TVs, menus, seating, and all the clubs you need. You are welcome to bring your own clubs, though! F&B-wise, there is a strong local beer list and elevated pub grub to choose from. I really enjoyed the burrata and prosciutto pizza, which was listed under "shareables" and in fact, was big enough to be shareable. The charcuterie tray had some good things going for it, but I wish it had more "bread-y" items (such as crackers) instead of salad. Without utensils, some of the items were a bit hard to eat, which I think defeats the purpose of a charcuterie board. Other than that, lovely experience, beautiful facilities, and attentive staff. This is way better than a regular driving range. I like that there are computerized screens that keep score depending on the game you select. There are games like blackjack (shackjack), darts, and pro league. There are also famous course simulators that can test your skills. I like that a server is assigned to the bay reserved. Our server, Amber, was excellent and she offered to take my order rather than me having to put it into the computer. I was certainly willing to do that but she graciously offered to put the order in and it came out relatively quickly. I ordered chicken nachos which were decently soggy at the very bottom of the pile but mostly crunchy and loaded with meat and plenty of jalapenos. The sectional style seating is comfortable and easy to clean. That last point is important because the nachos were sufficiently messy. I think we should have had a few plates with them but not a big deal. There are hand sanitizer stations placed in several nearby locations so there is almost always one in close proximity. You can bring your own clubs or use the clubs provided if you don't mind some dents on the drivers or scuffs here and there. The balls are unlimited when you rent a bay and I like that you just wave your club in front of a sensor to have a ball delivered to the green. The bays have ceiling heaters which work well. It was in the low 50°s which was a bit chilly but the heaters kept the couches toasty warm. We went during the day so there weren't a lot of people there. Rock on Drive Shack. read more

I typically never have a bad experience here but ultimately last night was about the worst experience we had. It honestly made me not want to come to this location ever again. We had a pretty big group, all over the age of 21.. waited an hour and a half for a bay ( which was fine) so we all hit the bar! We are the people that come to the bar that the bartenders enjoy having. But let me tell you. I am a bartender and have been in the service industry for 5 years and i've seriously never wanted to lose my mind more. The guys behind the bar were absolutely terrible. I had politely asked the guy who barely had anyone at the bar for a drink and explained to him how i wanted it, he was a little confused, not too sure why because it was the most basic drink on the planet, he then goes in a condescending tone "do you even know what tequila you like" are you kidding? My boyfriend had asked for a water when he came back with my drink and a couple people from my group noticed he rolled his eyes. Oh so sorry you have to do your job???? He proceeds to put it on the bar a distance away from my boyfriend and thats when i made a smart comment about how hard it is for him to hand it to my boyfriend. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NEVER GIVE SERVICE the way he did. He clearly didnt want to make money. My friend had a cracked license from out of state that has surpassed all clubs downtown two nights ago, but the other bartender refused (he didn't even hesitate, didn't ask either for a possible second identification) little did he know she had her passport on her but forgot to show him. He proceeded to be extremely extra and tell all servers / managers, whoever in this establishment (while pointing) to probably not serve her. Again, we had caused no issues, and felt extremely frustrated with the whole ordeal . I understand having a cracked license you can refuse, i get it. But having to go the extra mile telling everyone, pointing, and all while being dry and rude because he probably assumed it was a fake, was uncalled for. I stood at the bar a second time awaiting to have my friend show a second identification because she had her passport so she can get a drink. This guy ultimately had me boiling. He had went up to the man right beside us to serve him a drink, while we sat patiently waiting to see how long he would come up. again, NOBODY at the bar waiting for drinks but us. He walked right by and went to the service bar and started doing drinks for at least 10 mins. We were so bothered at that point we didnt even want to get another drink. Then he comes up, since we had not left and i just asked for a water. Bc at this point, you had wasted 10 mins of my time bc your lack of service and your purposely unawareness. My other friends, again, since waiting so long were getting parched, to go to the bar and wait another 10 mins to get this guy to come up, they ended up turning around w/o a drink and sat down and also complained at how terrible this guy was. Drive shack, do better. These are not the people that deserve to be behind the bar. Ultimately, our server was the only one who was attentive and nice. Drive Shack is an incredibly fun place to go to with family or friends. It's basically a fun twist on your normal game of golf, where you hit golf balls from a little booth they give you. You can order food and drinks, choose the game mode you want to play, adjust the heat in your booth, and a worker will come get your order and check in on you guys. The food my friends and I got was really good, but the cookie skillet stole the show. It was immaculate. There are only four games to choose from, our favorites were darts and monster hunt. I did better than expected, who knows maybe I'll take up golf as a hobby? We ordered beers, pretzel sticks & fondue and the chocolate chip cookie skillet while playing. The only thing that I didn't care for was the fondue cheese sauce. Fun driving range for all skill levels. The music is great, food is okay, and the cocktails are pricy and strong. Whether you are beginner or expert, you can enjoy the variety of games, courses, food, and drinks offered in each bay on one of the three levels. During the COVID-19 pandemic, all employees are wearing masks and about half of the bays are kept open for social distancing purposes. Drive Shack then cleans and sanitizes the bay before the next party starts. As a result, there are long wait times. At this time, they do not accept reservations. Parties currently playing also have the option of extending their time. We arrived at around 11:30 am on a Monday (holiday). Our estimated wait time was 2 hours. We decided to wait hoping our bay would be ready before that. It was not. We also thought we could play the arcade games while we waited, but they had removed all the games. For the 2 hours, we walked around and then sat on the inside of the third floor and enjoyed food and drinks. The nachos were great, with chicken added on they were $14. Our drinks were strong, but lacked the desired flavor. We ordered the watermelon mimosa ($7) and lavender spitz ($12). They did not taste like watermelon or lavender respectively. I also ordered the Asian salad ($10). It was soggy, but still good and satisfying. I would recommend that they leave the dressing on the side. It took a while to receive our food but this did not matter too much since we had time to spare. Our waitress Daesha was friendly, understanding, and attentive. We received the text that our bay was ready and went downstairs to get started. The bay was set up under our name and number. After that, you just enter in the names of the participants and pick which game or course you want. We especially enjoyed Shackjack since all skill levels can play successfully. The darts game was fun and more challenging however the board is off center by a significant amount. Our waiter outside was also very attentive and friendly. After playing for 2 hours, we paid and headed out. Masks are not required within the bay. They are encouraged when you leave your bay.
