Several things to note. 1. The salespersons will let you wander around on your own. 1b. When you're interested in driving a car, they bring it around to the front and let it warm up for you. They also scrap the ice and get it all ready. 2. They will let you take the cars for drives on your own. They didn't tell us where to go or how long to be out. 3. They will work with prices. If you have a reasonable offer, they seem willing to work. More than anything, I was impressed how Toby (our salesperson) treated my wife. He greeted her first and asked whose name should go first in the paperwork. He was never pushy or, as my wife said it, never said those car salesman lines. He asked questions and quickly and efficiently addressed all our questions. When we asked if we could take it to our mechanic, he said sure and was helpful in explaining ways we could do that. They also had an inspection done and gave it to us. For the record, our mechanic said the exact same things that were said in the inspection that was given to us in the office. We will return to this place when we are ready to buy another car. I can't imagine doing business with any other salesperson.

They were patient with me while I went through the loan process and held the vehicle for me while I was finishing up paperwork all over town even though it had a lot off interest. Of course they offered me assistance with this too! As far as trade-in values you won't find a complaint from me! The big dealerships are a joke as far as trade-in values so I like to go to "the little guys." I got exactly what I wanted for trade-in. Another great thing is they do not harass you the moment you drive onto their lot to look, which I love. It's stressful and it can make me feel like prey around sharks when that happens, so bravo to Quality for that! If you have an inquiry you just head inside and anyone is willing to help you. Test drives are easy to do as well with just a copy of your license. They will let you take it out solo (with some exceptions they have to ride along) which I find also great because it's more relaxing to me to get a feel for the vehicle and not worry about awkward small talk with a stranger. Everyone is happy when they get a new car, but Ali and his crew shined on multiple levels while helping me through this purchase. What you will notice before you ever see the face of an employee at Payless, is that all of the cars are in amazing shape, and there is a fair selection to choose from. No other used vehicle dealers have a lot that looks this nice. They seem to curate some of their stock in order to have some unique models. The next thing that you will notice if you do some quick googling on your phone; they likely have the best prices for the vehicles that they stock. You should ALWAYS shop around, but over the course of weeks of looking, no one beat these guys on the mid-level sedans that I was looking at. Walk in and you are politely greeted by one of the floor men, if you have some rigs in mind, you tell them, they take you out to the car, hand you the keys and wave as you take it out to drive it. What?! No, seriously. They helped me get a far better loan, I NEVER felt pressure for ANYTHING from them, and they were transparent about every detail on the vehicle from price to CarFax and in between. I experienced the most sincere and professional customer treatment that there is to be had in Anchorage. They offer REALLY great aftermarket warranty options. They offer customization features at an amazing price (I got a tint and awesome autostart, even some paint touch-up because I am picky), and they were kind enough to put me in a loaner while my new car was getting these things done after purchase. I could go into a lot more detail but I just want you to know that you should give these guys a shot before ANYONE else in town. I WENT to everyone else, and wasn't happy for a hundred reasons. Yeah, I suppose you could say that our Alaskan family is very satisfied with Continental Subaru, the products they sell, and the on-going vehicle service they provide. When my daughter and I walked into Continental's showroom last month, we weren't really there to buy anything yet, just look at the newest Subaru models since both of our Subarus were over 10 years old (and still going strong!). Ricky greeted us and really listened as we climbed into the cars and critiqued each model. He was very knowledgeable about the current car models and their features, and also with older models and how they'd evolved. The pivotal moment came when I was lamenting that none of the new models we'd seen were quite what I was hoping for. That's when Ricky pulled the rabbit out of his hat and showed us the 2026 Outback Wilderness - in blue! I fell in love and took it. Several weeks later and I'm getting to know Big Blue, which is far from the "computer on wheels" that I was afraid it would be. I went back to the dealership spoke with the manager and expressed my concerns, and she immediately had me bring the vehicle in the next day for repairs. She told me that they have been through a few mechanics since the vehicle had its safety inspection done and apologized and didn't want me to think that they sold non-dependable vehicles and they want to back up their companies name so at no cost to me all the safety concerns I had were repaired.

Lee is who we dealt with. He came across friendly at first but that quickly changed. It seemed all he was interested in was us leaving a 5-star review. He mentioned it many, many times. We purchased the truck and drove it off the lot. The next day, I stop and fill up the tank before heading to work. After filling up, I was smelling gasoline in the cab. When I got to work I called Midas to see if they would look at it later in the day. I was suspecting a possible leak in the fuel line. I was NOT expecting what they found. They called me with an almost $4000 repair bill. There was a hole drilled in the gas tank, the back half of the exhaust system was removed.....AND THERE WERE NO BRAKES ON THE TRUCK! I immediately called Lee and requested the truck be taken back and everything repaired/replaced. Lee gave some excuse about the lead mechanic being away and that's why things were overlooked. If any mechanic overlooks the fact that breaks and an exhaust system are missing....are they really a mechanic? When I initially purchased the truck, the fog lights were missing and Lee had refused to fix them. With everything else that was just found on the truck, I told him the fog lights were also getting replaced or I wasn't keeping the truck. He begrudgingly accommodated. I picked the truck up a few weeks later. The fog lights were installed but they stopped working a few days later. I took the truck back in, and a mechanic took a look at them and electrical taped some wires together. They worked again for another few days and then stopped. I took it to another shop that said the wires were all loose and the lights weren't even bolted in. Fast forward 2 years. I'm having some engine issues and am trying to locate the extended warranty I purchased. I called and got Lee on the phone. The first time he answered the phone and then hung up before I even said anything. I called back and he couldn't have sounded more uninterested. He said he'd take my name and number and call me back. Obviously he never did. Thankfully, I was able to locate the warranty paperwork in the meantime. After the engine was replaced a month or so ago, I realized I was smelling gas again after filling up. I take a look near the tank only to find that the gas tank that had been "replaced" because of the hole that was drilled into it hadn't actually been replaced. All they did was patch it and it's now leaking again. I reached out several times trying to get in contact with the manager. Tim finally got back to me one day, said he'd look into it but that he wasn't the manager when this took place. He never called back. If you love supporting scumbag used car lots then this is the place to go. With all of the options out there, I'd highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. Lee, Tim, and the others at Dependable Used Cars are clearly only interested in taking your money and not in providing quality work.

I also would not recommend Josh as an adjuster. When I asked questions about the repair process, he told me he had already explained everything and wasn't going to explain it again. After that, he accused me of being the rude one. It was a frustrating and unprofessional experience. Overall, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I won't be purchasing another Chevrolet from the Anchorage dealership, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.
