1st off, we had a reservation outside that someone forgot to note and they still sat us outside but at a 10 foot table at which we sat single file in an unlighted area. We had to use our phones to see both the menus and our food. We ordered calamari for $19 and crab/spinach stuffed mushroom for $23. The portions were minuscule. There were 3 small mushrooms and about 12 strings of calamari. The mushrooms tasted like they were stuffed with cat food. The entrees took forever to arrive and they were mediocre. The Philly cheesesteak pizza was cold and inedible. The rock shrimp linguini tasted like it was made with beef broth. The positives were the ambiance and the waitress who was positive and nice. Our gang of four dined for lunch at the Drift Kitchen + Bar inside the Hutchinson Shores Resort. Italian themed. Started out loud at 1 pm, and became quieter after 1:30. Our reservation made online was honored on time. Service was attentive and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their dishes: Meatball appetizer with ricotta cheese, perfectly cooked Steak Frites, tasty Short Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich, Smoky Blue personal size brick oven pizza, and House Salad with grilled salmon. Served with a nicely chilled martini. Lots of other seafood items. The setting is hip, bright, modern décor with ocean view on the second floor of the resort. Can also dine al fresco nearly on the beach adjacent to the Dune Beach Bar. Also open for breakfast and dinner. This is an extremely popular restaurant in the hotel so make sure you make a reservation! We visited on Saturday evening and the place was popping at 7 pm, yet by 8 they had tables available so if you'd like a later dinner you might be in luck, this is an earlier crowd. Also there are some lovely tables by an open side bar by the beach where we noticed they also serve dinner (next to the pool) so on a cool January night this could be a great spot. We started off with drinks. We heard they made great martinis so we each got one and enjoyed them. I asked for my dirty martini without the "heat" and liked what I got. We got some fried calamari for the table. They were good, but the plate was SO pretty! It had some tiny tomatoes or minuscule peppers- idk but they were super cute and tasted a bit tangy a bit sweet. Very good. Then I ordered the Pasta Carbonara- no peas- and it was very good. The noodles were thicker than I like, but cooked to point, and the carbonara was creamy and very well flavored. It was a big plate! I took more than half to go. We also ordered the clams, which I didn't have a chance to taste because my friends ate them so fast... that I couldn't get my fork in there sideways- lol- which tells me they were delicious. The ambiance was great. Everyone was having a great time, the service we got was good, so that's why this place seems to be a local Favorite. Beautiful decor and location. Bar was packed but not dining room. Food was ok and the prices were not crazy. Flat bread with steak special was a great base with jerky on top, meatball app was tasty and calamari was a big chewy and needed some flavor! Same sauce on meatball and calamari. Attended a business brunch and was my first time there. It's beautiful! Beautiful scenery, of course, right next to the beach. The food is delightful! Crab egg Benedict was perfect! Very flavorful, cooked just right and served with fresh fruit. We had a private room which is just the right size for the amount of people, roughly 15-20, completely closed off but right in the center of the restaurant. Service was great, very attentive servers. Complimentary valet at the entrance, restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the hotel. Beautiful inviting entrance to the hotel and the restaurant is just as beautiful. Will definitely be back! read more

Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating with a bar in each area. The food was spectacular. Everything was cooked perfectly. I tried a chefs special bbq brisket burger which had very well balanced flavors. The service was average. I would give the 5th star if service was impeccable. read more

Food is good, especially the pastas. I'm not a big fan of the table servers the last few times I've come. They are pushy, asking us to order out next bottle of wine, etc. On my most recent visit I had a very dry fish which I did not return but did not eat and returned but it did not come off. Did I ask for it to come off? No. That's what I expect of a good to great restaurant though. We love this hotel and we'll keep eating at this restaurant, just on our guard. read more

The menu was fantastic. The canapés were outstanding especially the whitefish buckwheat tartlet with caviar, and the lamb saddle was cooked perfectly with a sublime preserved onion jus. The rhubarb in the second the dessert was perfect. We enjoyed every single course and both the Demi and Reserve wine pairings. Watching the chefs and staff prepare the food was so enjoyable. Stopped in Sunday (3/30) for breakfast arriving about 10:15 am. We had a group of 4 and we grabbed some stools around the corner of the bar. Jodie was our server and she was great. She had the whole bar by herself plus filling orders for the busy restaurant section. She was busy! We ordered breakfast around 10:30 or a little later. Jodie warned us that food was coming out slow but we were fine because we were in vacation mode and were enjoying visiting. Got another round of drinks. By 11:30 still no food! We asked Jodie just to cancel it and of course that's when it came out. Still, we declined it. Went to Kyle G's down the road and enjoyed a very good brunch there. read more

Pretty much have to valet- ok, no problem, we appreciate the service. Kyle Gs and Sailors Return have great valet- nice service to be offered. But guess what- the Hotel charges $5.00 for diners! Add that to the tip to the valet and you are at $10.00 ! We went for lunch - the experience was forgettable and the attitude from the front desk was poor. Mike at the bar was great. Strawberry martini was stellar alongside with espresso martini. Jordan made the first two rounds and Mike took care of my third as well as my Fiancè's drink. A great duo team. Mind you we arrived late (about hour before they closed) and still received top notch service. We got the lobster bisque and pizza and made it a fantastic birthday evening for myself. We were staying at the resort. Our first stop and absolute favorite restaurant we ate in on our Stuart/Jensen Beach vacation! We were unsure when we drove up since it looks like a really fancy hotel on the outside & in the lobby, thinking the food was going to be snooty or expensive. The food we found, however, was absolutely perfectly cooked, a good portion, and well priced. Also, valet parking is complimentary! The view here can't be beat, it overlooks the pool and beach. There's an inside dining area as well but we choose to eat outside and enjoy the sound of the waves. Our waiter was attentive and kept diet cokes coming as needed. We ordered a spinach artichoke dish first. The crostinis were super hard and crispy, but the dip helped soften them up. I ordered fish tacos, which came with SO MUCH fish and a delicious crema on top. They were absolutely wonderful. I never order tacos tbh and these have made me a believer. My mom got the brisket grilled cheese and it had tons of pork and such a tasty sauce. Basically, we were both obsessed with our meals. Definitely come here! read more

Visited drift for dinner during our stay at Hutchinson Shores. We had a 7pm dinner reservation, upon arrival the hostess greeted us and asked if we were interested in outside seating. To which we accepted since the weather was so nice. The outside seating was very popular that night and there was only one server working the area. It took about 10 minutes to be greeted and at that point we were missing a cocktail menu/wine list. So we asked for one and waited 5 minutes as I looked around I noticed all beverages were being served in plastic. When the server returned I asked if we ordered a bottle would we still be able to have glasses to which she replied no. We then said sorry but we would prefer to sit inside. When we found the hostess again she was able to find us a table. We had to wait 10 more minutes even when the restaurant was fairly empty. At that point we knew exactly what we wanted to ordered and place the entire order at once. For appetizer we ordered the calamari which were on the chewier side. We also ordered the mushroom pizza which was probably the best thing we had that night. My husband ordered the burger which according to him was just ok. I ordered the carbonara with shrimp and it was more of a heavy Alfredo with bacon and peas. Our server inside was very nice and knowledgeable and tried to spin our experience around. Being on the second floor, Drift Kitchen + Bar is rare and the oceanic atmosphere of the restaurant with its amazing views for indoor seating with tables and booths as well as outdoor seating is hard to beat ! The Bar is situated in the center of the restaurant and is well-stocked. There is ample seating for patrons, however, many prefer congregating between the bar and restaurant section, which can make it hard to hear conversations or move around, especially if there is a concurrent major catered or sporting event. A flat-screen is available for sports fans and there is Happy Hour available M-TH from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM. The menu is available online for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner if you desire to plan, especially if you have dietary restrictions. We had the bisque which was delicious and would have been perfect if it only had more . The Caesar was plentiful and flavorful! The Tuscan Chicken entrée was delicious! The Rib eye was cooked medium as asked, but would have been better if the amount of gravy at the bottom of the plate was reduced. The file mignon was also cooked to perfection and the potatoes were delicious, The asparagus should have been cooked a few minutes longer. Drift is located inside the Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa. It is a casual place with a full bar and great views of the pool and beach. They have inside and outside dining and the menu selections are kind of gourmet for a hotel restaurant. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the prices are reasonable , (about what you would expect at a high-end resort. ) We visited on a late afternoon, too late for lunch and too early for dinner, so we just had some light bites. I had the hummus and it was absolutely divine! It was a hefty serving with large pieces of olive and some fresh baked pita rounds, carrot sticks and celery sticks for dipping. The price was not bad at all at $11. My friend ordered the bruschetta but swapped out the goat cheese for feta cheese instead. She really liked it and it was priced right at $13. A third friend had the lobster bisque and she said it was really good as well; $10. Since Drift is located in the Hutchinson Shores Resort ; you can order and dine on the covered patio or even bring the food/drinks to one of the sectional couches or lounge chairs around the pool deck. It is so convenient, and there is a full bar; some of the members of our group had several meals there; and we were only staying for 2 nights! read more
