got a Brazilian wax here last week and it was a nightmare experience. The room was filthy, customer service was non existent. I should have left when i saw how dirty the room was. The waxer did not use gloves, she double dipped the wax stick and overall did a terrible job. I work in the industry and know how it should be done and which sanitation steps need to be taken and she took none of them. I left with wax all over me and had to try to get it off at home hoping I wouldn't get an infection. Dangerous conditions for this type of service and seems like they never clean the wax pot. Considering how dirty it was and how many times she reused the wax stick no one should ever come here. read more

if I could rate 0 I would Madhu the owner gave my septal cellulitis in my right eye from dirty material I woke up with my eye completely shut! I went to the ER and was told this. I called the salon Madhu would not remove the lashes and lied saying I harassed her when I begged her to please remove them! I told her I was going to sue her for everything she wrongfully did. she ignored my calls and refused to return my money until the police was called! never will I return there!! read more

Not a bad place but I probably won't go back. The last time, I went there for an 18 dollar manicure. I charged it on my card and asked for change for a 20 dollar bill for a tip. I specifically asked for some 1 dollar bills. The manicurist came back with a 10 and two 5 dollar bills. She waved the 5 dollar bill with a whimper, meaning she wanted it all. WOW! Almost a 30 percent tip on a regular manicure. Shame on her! I told her to keep it! She looks like she's been there a long time and you would think she would have picked up some customer service skills along the way. That was the last time, I will ever return. This little salon doesn't look like much, but they do a fantastic job on eyebrows! I knew I was in for a treat when there was a wait to get my eyebrows threaded. I usually get them waxed, but recently the wax has been leaving behind red bumps. Laura N. told me this place did an awesome job threading, so I decided to try it out! The result? Great services. Been here a couple times for waxing. Madhu has been great, very professional and does a thorough job. She is very quick and gets the job done right the first time. This last time one of the other staff had to do it, although she was nice, she was not as thorough as Madhu. The process was long and very painful. She kept putting too much wax so it kept getting stuck pulling at the skin instead of just the hair. It's been 2 wks and I still have skin irritation/folliculitis. You'll be greeted with a friendly smile, led to a small, quiet room (I think there might have been a candle burning too), spoken to gently, and not be put in awkward positions. I had this done once before a few years ago at some fancy spa place and felt so uncomfortable. Here, I felt totally at home, with hot wax on my butt. I was also happy with the results. Also, $40 for a Brazilian Wax is a GREAT DEAL. As long as I live in the area and "need" a wax, I'm not even trying another place. (NOTE: If you're new to this procedure, get it done a week before you 'need' it as your skin gets raw with some pimples and needs a little time to heal.) read more

I made an appt for my daughter for her first hair wax and a haircut. they wrote it in for the wrong week and didn't know to expect us. The woman who serviced us had no bedside manor, and waxed my daughters legs quite unceremoniously. When she cut hair, she didn't bother to wash it or even to wet it. She just brushed out my daughters unwashed hair, and cut it dry. She charged me $25 for a haircut, when advertised for $15. She said it's because I asked for layers. It was an awful awful haircut. This place is a hit or miss based on who does your brows. Ask for the owner or specific people who know to be good at what they do. I have had great experiences and regrets over the years when I have walked in. They are not my go to place but being the nearest to my house, I have used them over the years when I don't have the time to go anywhere else. My last visit was about a month ago, prices were higher than in the past and what's on the list probably due to COVID. I have been getting my eye brows tinted and threaded here for years... I started at the Arlington heights location 10+ years ago, but when I moved to Palatine I found their Palatine location and loved it even more! I have since moved to Lake Zurich, and still frequent the Palatine location. Their prices are insanely reasonable, their stylists are so friendly and professional, and they do the absolute best job on my eyebrows. Today while getting my eyebrows done I mentioned I hadn't had a haircut in over a year bc of Covid and she kindly offered to cut it for me. I had time, so I agreed and I am so happy I did. She did a wonderful job and their prices are very reasonable. I got a haircut, and eyebrows threaded and tinted for $51 total! I absolutely love this salon and have been telling my friends for years. This place is seriously amazing! I've only had my eyebrows threaded here but every time I go they do an excellent job! They always know how to fix my eyebrows when I've let them get way too overgrown and know how to make both brows look even. Bonus: they take walk-ins, it only takes like 5 minutes and costs only $7 (tip not included but I always just give them $10)! This place is ok for threading. Customer service is lacking. Ambiance is not on the 'Dream' side, that's for sure! They charge 50% more than the place in Walmart but similar results. I had a bad experience here with waxing and threading. I asked specifically just to thread a few stubby hairs that were growing out since I'm trying to grow my eyebrows to get it thicker. I now have one eyebrow that's uneven and the other one thinner. Waxing: I needed to get my underarms and full arm Waxed. The worst and painful experience I have ever had. The paper kept getting stuck to the point she had to wax me over and over to get the paper out. She left many little bruises on my arm from waxing the same place repeatedly. When I asked her about that she said "if happens to everyone. It's like little mosquito bites". I've never had that happen to me. Maybe it's time to switch up the wax papers to something thicker so that it doesn't get stuck on customers arms where you have to take some of their skin off in order to get it out. Well, three and a half stars is more accurate. Actually, 2 reviews would be more accurate cause I'd give 5 stars for the eyebrow threading and 2 stars for the bikini wax. I've never had my eyebrows done this way before, and always wanted to try. So quick and cheap! Not going to lie, it hurts, but it's so fast it's no big deal. I had no redness or irritation after so I could go about my day without the telltale signs of having your eyebrows done. The shape was perfect, my natural brow, just so nicely cleaned up. I'll continue to go for this service as needed and would recommend to anyone. But... I was tempted by the low price for a wax and thought, why not give them a try? I'm not a waxing newbie and have tried many places. Never before has any salon used a roll on wax applicator! But that was happening. Ew, not hygenic and not the kind of wax that should be used for this job. This was a different technician, so maybe waxing is not her forte, but that is just not ok. Also, no disposable undies or even a towel to cover up with. It's not about a shyness factor, but I thought that was kind of odd and awkward. No baby powder or after-wax skin treatment either. I'll stick with the threading and plan on waxes elsewhere. read more
