I've had a few skin concerns as I've entered my 30s and two different dermatologists I have visited have tried to sell me high dollar products or laughed and reminded me that my skin could be much worse and mine isn't that bad. Yes, I'm sure it could be - but I don't want it to get to that place! I had to reschedule about a week out and it was a super easy process to text and change the time. I appreciated the reminders in the mean time up until my appointment. I have been to Phenix Salon Suites for other services so I knew exactly where to go and park. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appt and checked in on the app, there is a small bench in the hall right next to the entrance of the suite. My esthetician, Ella arrived shortly and was ready for me a few minutes before my appointment. The suite itself is a lot smaller than I thought, there is only room for one client at a time. Ella was very friendly and took the time to assess my needs. It has been YEARS since I've waxed (I said would never again in life and here we are) and I wasn't pleased with it enough to keep it up. Ella definitely worked to make me a believer in getting waxed regularly. She took her time and coached me through and gave updates to let me know her progress. She finished me up with sugaring and I did enjoy (for a lack of a better word) that more than the wax. I would definitely come back to this location in another 9 years when I can stomach this again.

She rushed through my Brazilian, left me with several burns (on both sides of my thighs and near my stomach), and spent the whole appointment talking down about other waxers. I left in so much pain and honestly felt uncomfortable the entire time. I HIGHLY recommend Shakira -- not once has she ever spoken badly about coworkers. She makes you feel comfortable, at home, and always checks in before moving on. The spa really needs to hold Itzy accountable because no one deserves to leave burned and disrespected like this.
