I had to reschedule about a week out and it was a super easy process to text and change the time. I appreciated the reminders in the mean time up until my appointment. I have been to Phenix Salon Suites for other services so I knew exactly where to go and park. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appt and checked in on the app, there is a small bench in the hall right next to the entrance of the suite. My esthetician, Ella arrived shortly and was ready for me a few minutes before my appointment. The suite itself is a lot smaller than I thought, there is only room for one client at a time. Ella was very friendly and took the time to assess my needs. It has been YEARS since I've waxed (I said would never again in life and here we are) and I wasn't pleased with it enough to keep it up. Ella definitely worked to make me a believer in getting waxed regularly. She took her time and coached me through and gave updates to let me know her progress. She finished me up with sugaring and I did enjoy (for a lack of a better word) that more than the wax. I would definitely come back to this location in another 9 years when I can stomach this again.

I first started seeing Angela at EWC and it was my first time getting waxed. I was very uncomfortable with how intimate of an experience it can be, but Angela made me super comfortable! She's the best! I had to schedule with another lady once because I made a last minute appointment and I really saw the difference! Angela is amazing. When she left EWC, so did I! And EWC happens to be closer to my apartment... But she is worth the drive! :) read more

I was relaxed and not nervous at all, mostly because the tone was set so perfectly. The room was impeccably clean and the decor was cute and spunky! The price was about average- $50 for a brazilian. I love how I felt afterwards, but there were quite a few hairs that were missed, to the point where two weeks later I'm on the verge of shaving again. It was uncomfortable for me near the end, especially when she started tweezing, but I would've rather bit my tongue and suffered through that than have some fuzz one to two weeks after the wax. It was also my first time getting a wax, so there was a lot more hair to deal with. If i do get a wax again, I'd still come back.

I had a 2pm appointment and attempted to enter between 2:06 and 2:10. I was a new customer so after trying a few minutes I decided to text her at 2:11 and she called me a few min later and said she was at lunch. I told her no problem , I would wait for her or come back - she stated IF* she was able to see me I would have to repay. PASS. I don't do greedy. Takes 3 minutes to sugar underarms and such a minimal amount of $ - so yes, that's greedy. I suppose I assumed it was okay to be a few minutes late because she gave me that message at my first appointment when she was late for me - and took a phone call during my service. In which I do not mind at all - I'm very easy and understanding. I am big on referrals and ironically the morning this happened I had just referred a few gfs to her. I am very friendly. I tip well and extra on holidays. I'm understanding with timing. Etc. for her not to accommodate me with a slap on the wrist as a new customer, was my sign to move on from this place! I even had had an upcoming appointment a couple weeks out and canceled that (lost my deposit on that) - but that's okay, I believe everything in life comes back tenfold when you are kind, compassionate and generous. Greed never wins! I also text her letting her know I was late due to the passing of my grandmother as I was in the middle of arranging her funeral and I left my house frantic - missed the exit. Because I'm human and stress does that. :) I hated that I had to use that card but it was honestly the truth - still no compassion! Sad. As for her work - she does do great work. Absolutely. Very clean and flawless job. That's my honesty!! But I'm a full package kind of customer - without kindness, I see right past your work.

I've been burned before at a different shop, so this aspect of the experience made all the difference. The second time I was here I agreed to waxing my underarms for something like $22. She didn't hold my skin tight enough and it hurt more than it needed to. My skin was extra raw and still not smooth, no oil afterwards. I carry a roll on coconut oil so that helped me out. While I'm accustomed to waxing--creams, powder, strips, sugar, etc.--no aftercare counseling provided. They is a poster on the room's wall I was in that covers a few key points, but it is not enough information. The location is convenient. Note: I asked for sugar, but I'm still not 100% sure if it's 100% that. Whatever they used seems like a quality product though. They Note: If you have curly hair, no preventative care.
