Angela is absolutely incredible. I was in Houston for business and needed a wax before heading home but there weren't any options in downtown. I also didn't have a car. I booked online and found that there was an option to bring the service to me. Score!! I wasn't familiar with the area and didn't have a car so that was the perfect option for me. Angela came to my hotel, had a whole table set up and wax station, and had my full brazilian done in less than 20 minutes. When she told me she was done I couldn't believe it was over. Just finished a session with Angela and I was very impressed. In the past, I've sugared everything south of my nose and only had my legs waxed the old fashion way with strips. That's not Angela. She has a method that's fast and pretty close to being pain-free. Not to say I didn't jump (out of anticipation) when she waxed the "big kahuna". First off, she's extremely personable and funny. I think I laughed 90% of the time I was there. She definitely takes care of you in letting you know when to "take a deep breath in" when she's about to rip those little hairs from your body. Like the other posts, my first waxing experience with Angela was at European Wax Center (EWC). I had my underarms and full legs done for the first time and it wasn't as painful as I had imagined. I will be honest, the first "pull" is somewhat painful, but Angela made me extremely at ease by talking to me about my everyday life. Before I knew it, I did not feel any pain and the process was over. Kuddos to her for that! I moved to Houston recently, having to leave my favorite wax studio in my college town I knew finding someone I liked was going to be difficult. I recently moved to Houston in early July from Seattle. I was super stressed out looking for a good place to call my go to for eyebrow waxing! This is the first place I went & I will be coming back for sure!!!!! Let's start off by saying it is in a town home, it's not in your typical building. So parking is a little bit difficult, but if you just look around a little you shouldn't have too much trouble. There is a sign on the door that says bare essentials so you can't miss it! I knocked on the door & was welcomed in by ( ugh I forget her name ) but she was the owner of Bare Essentials! Extremely sweet & welcoming!!!!!! The interior is amazing, very well designed & decorated. The owner of the salon made my experience amazing. She talked with me & kept nice genuine conversation, it didn't feel fake or forced. She held great conversation with me, but there were quiet moments where I knew she was focus on on waxing my brows which actually made me feel more comfortable!!!!! Let me just say she did an amazing job on my brows. I wish I had a picture to post but believe me she waxed them amazingly & really took her time. I'm not sure what type of product she used on them after to calm the skin but whatever it was it was amazing!!! The whole experience was an A+ truly. I can say that I agree with the other reviewers on this page. Angela really knows her business and she does a great job giving a clean and pain-free experience. I like that she uses a natural wax. The lavender oil afterwards helps also with soothing any irritation. Reducing exposure to harmful chemicals is important to me and I appreciate that Angela respects that and does not use toxic fragrances or paraben-based lotions. The building address is Prospect street, but the parking lot entrance is off live oak. I have been with Angela since I moved to Houston in 2012. Not one to bounce around to different aestheticians, I lucked out in finding her at EWC and stuck with her as she transitioned to her own waxing service business. Angela is the best and we spend much of my visit catching up on life while she works. Not only is the bikini wax service quick and fairly painless (compared to the strip method), I do not deal much with pesky "ingrowns" in between the 3-4 week visit cycles.
