top: electric blue, the OG; bottom: thai-ger king, pushing daisies mochinut

pre-ordered 4 doughnuts: The OG, Electric Blue Bomb, Pushing Daisies Mochinut, Thai-Ger King. would highly recommend pre-ordering if you have specific ones you want to try! we got there ~1pm to pick up which is towards the end, but basically everything was sold out. - The OG: personally found this one overly sweet and overly fried, you can taste the saltiness from the oil. - Electric Blue: this one was my favorite! fluffy dough with exploding tart fruity flavor. - Pushing Daisies Mochinut: not sure we thought the matcha and calamansi flavors meshed well, also quite sweet. the mochi texture is less chewy than typical. - Thai-Ger King: overall solid, the expected thai tea flavor. Overall fun unique flavors, but fairly pricey for doughnuts and sweeter than necessary (especially for an asian inspired dessert)

DREAM is to die for! We came by the Ferry Building Farmer's Market on Saturday and had to grab one as we went through the other stalls. Expect some wait here as DREAM had a line! We only waited 10-15 minutes before we got to order. Service was quick! Getting there at about noon, there were already some of their doughnuts sold out so get there early if you're looking for something in particular! We ordered the OG and it was SO GOOD. I'm still thinking about it! We will definitely be coming back for these!

Pink & White Croughie (w/Poached Rhubarb, Strawberry Confit, Vanilla Bean, Strawberry Cream, $6.25)- 4/5 stars

4.25 stars overall, but rounding up for their unique donut flavors and super friendly and helpful owners! I had them bookmarked for a while, and then saw them profiled a few weeks ago on Check Please! Bay Area. I knew that would cause them to blow up even more, and lo and behold, their pre-orders for single donuts were sold out for the foreseeable future. Luckily, they still had four packs of pre-selected donuts available, and I placed a pre-order for pick up at the Saturday Farmer's Market in San Francisco. Their stand had a long line at 11:15am on Saturday (they were located in front of the Ferry Building, where many of the other food vendors were), and they were sold out of some items already; however, there was still a good variety available to choose from. I was able to ask to pick up my order at the front of the line, and didn't have to wait for very long. I tried: [https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Zfy3Ja2TJCR5EwTUK7WI4g&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg] -Pink & White Croughie (w/Poached Rhubarb, Strawberry Confit, Vanilla Bean, Strawberry Cream, $6.25, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=tnpzuPY3nsd4c6_Oo_GMWg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): They have two croughie flavors each week, and I love that they rotate flavors frequently. The croughie was flaky, and I liked the rhubarb/strawberry flavor and the texture of the cream. However, the croughie was slightly dense, and the price point is on the higher side for the price. I would still get this again depending on the flavor. -Ooh Baby (Ube Cream, Ube Milk Crumbs, $5.50): Very good donut, and the donut was soft and pillowy. I liked that this wasn't too sweet, but the ube flavor could've been amped up more. -Bart's Dad (Pink Vanilla Glaze, Rainbow Sprinkles, $4): This was a solid sprinkles donut, and I also liked that this wasn't too sweet; however, with all the other unique flavors they have, I wouldn't order this again. -Strawberry Fields (Strawberry Crème Chantilly Filling, Strawberry Glaze, $6.25): Yum- this was my favorite out of the donuts I tried. I loved the strawberry crème chantilly filling, and the fresh flavor of the strawberry. Highly recommended! The ladies at D.R.E.A.M. were so friendly, and I look forward to the other creative donut flavors they come up with! They were still wearing masks despite the mandate being lifted. Parking in this area is extremely difficult during the weekends, but street parking spots and lots are available a short walk away.

It's been quite a while before I started having and trying doughnuts. You can imagine my excitement when I saw this stand appear at the Ferry Farmers Market on Saturday 4/9/2022. When I walked up, there were two customers (potential or actual?) who were asking about and looking at their display. While waiting, I studied their menu and knew that I'd be getting a number of things, especially knowing I'd be meeting out-of-town friends the next day for dinner. I ordered two boxes of the Classic sampler (), which is comprised of The OG, Bart's Dad, Oooh Baby, and Napa Creme. I tried The OG (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=IhfpoWge-dsIrAqHnKnFxA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), which is a Madagascar vanilla bean glaze on their signature milk bread doughnut; though the most plain looking, I really enjoyed the texture of the dough which really shines. I shared this box with my family and that was my selection. I also ordered a custom box of four other items. The first one of those that I tried was The Robin (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=uFwfl256fPOyHeqm28NDCw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). This is comprised of a malted milk blue glaze, phyllo nest, and a robin egg... tell me this isn't an IG photo in waiting. And yes, deliciously interesting too. A couple days later, I dug into one of the 'Croughie of the Day', the blackberry lemonade (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=i6j2JbxMbsvPbTv9MvHUCw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); the menu lists the ingredients as blackberry compote, lemon curd, and blackberry glaze; though not a big blackberry fan, I enjoyed how the description depicts this pastry and I would get this again. The other croughie was the blueberry pancakes (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=OYko4LaYdpx1yQHNf-EiJg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); blueberry compote, vanilla bean cream, and maple glaze. Ridiculous in a good way, especially if you like blueberries. I finished my menu tour with the 24 carrot magic (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=D2BzDgDPk-uiGbWqrdZU7w&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). Trust me when I say this is more than a carrot cake. It's a brown sugar carrot cake with golden raisins, cream cheese frosting, and, yes, that's actually gold leaf ("a little bling" as they wrote). This is a cake donut that should be eaten within the 1st few days. I waited almost a week later and it was a bit on the dry side, no fault of theirs. With their wide menu selection, it was hard not to say 'one of each, please'. I am glad that I was able to enjoy five different items over the course of the week. No need to say that I'll be stopping here later this morning to try more too!

That mochi donut is unlike any other donut in that category! The slight chew yet soft texture with the decadent chocolate taste will absolutely make you want to buy it all! This is their flavor of the day so it varies. I'm glad that I was able to get some before they sold out. This is definitely going on the top list as one of "The Best Mochi Donuts" in the bay area.

I love novelty and I love doughnuts, so a new stand at the Farmer's Market selling doughnuts was quite ideal! Plenty of other people also seem to love novelty and doughnuts as this stand seemed to keep a consistent line. They moved quite quickly. I was most excited by the savory buns because I'm more a savory than sweets person. Sadly for me, the Green Garlic bun was sold out. I'm obsessed with green garlic! Very motivated to get there earlier next time. I MUST HAVE IT! Since I couldn't have it this time, I went for the Charred Allium Bun, which does have green garlic albeit presumably less. There is an option to get a drizzle of chili oil on top which I was absolutely delighted by. Very tasty! I also got the Matcha Roboto which is a mochi doughnut. I was a little bit disappointed by it, but it may have been completely my fault for waiting a day before consumption. It wasn't as chewy as I like in a mochi donut, and it was a bit grainier than I'm used to for mochi doughnuts. I've also let other mochi donuts go a day before and it was fine with no noticeable change in quality. I also made the mistake of having them put the two donuts together in the same box-- there was definitely some flavor crossover from the chili oil... My quality control issues aside, I'm excited to try their other offerings and was extremely charmed by the decorations on the Easter doughnut. My sister got the Croughnut and I haven't yet had a chance to check in with her on how she found it. It didn't seem overly greasy from my brief handling of it, which is a definite plus. I had tried a Cronut variation at Bob's and it was a mouthful of grease. I have faith that this will be a far better Croughnut experience.

We walked right into the cool and cozy no-frills donut shop and was greeted by the friendly staff. She even threw in a few delectable donut holes. I got a cake donut, but my companion got a regular glazed. I'm pretty picky with my glazes, which is why I default to cake when trying new donut places as most classic glazed donuts are pretty stale by the afternoon. But to my surprise, their classic yeasty glazed donut was incredible moist and not too overly fried. This is the mark of an excellent donut shop. I'm even curious to try their jelly-filled donuts next time i'm in. Highly highly recommend and I can't wait to come back!

That afternoon, it was packed with seniors with walkers who just seemed to be hanging out talking. :) The Jelly Donut has all the classics as well as some fun twists. We were looking for a little something sweet, so asked for a lemon jelly donut. I pointed to another big one and asked what it was. The woman behind the counter tongue-tied herself trying to say "crumb-coated cinnamon roll" and laughed which was extremely adorable so I had to get it. And yes, they gave a couple of surprise donuts which we didn't know was a thing. Everyone is tense and crabby these days (for good reason), so such a small move can really make someone's day. And yes, all of the donuts were excellent and fresh! I normally wouldn't order a cruller because they are always chewy and flavorless. Now I get it! This might be one of my favorite kinds of donuts now! I'm going out of my way to buy donuts from here in the future.

Parking is super easy around the area, which is a rarity in SF. Shop is bright and airy, with the most adorable pastel color scheme. I ordered two of their milk chocolate donuts ($5 each), a key lime meringue donut ($6), a blueberry & lime donut ($5), and a caramel apple donut ($6). Donuts are on the pricier side, but the presentation and use of high quality ingredients makes up for it. The sourdough donuts themselves aren't nearly as sweet as standard donuts and have a soft, bouncy texture. The milk chocolate donut was absolutely decadent. Upon first bite, you can immediately tell this donut was topped with real melted milk chocolate. This was levels above a typical chocolate glazed donut. The flakey sea salt garnished on top balanced out the sweetness nicely. Although I will say that I found the richness of the chocolate to clash slightly with the tanginess of the sourdough donut. The key lime meringue donut had a super tart key lime filling and was topped with fluffy meringue. Definitely the most eye catching of the donuts I picked up. But the key lime filling was a bit too punchy and sour for my liking. The glaze on the blueberry & lime donut had a potent and fresh blueberry flavor that went well with the lime zest sprinkled on top. The caramel apple donut was my favorite. The caramelized apple filling paired with the cream cheese frosting and graham cracker crumbs was almost like eating an apple pie + cheesecake fusion but as a donut! Overall, a solid donut place that I'd return to if I'm ever in need of a special treat!
