Among many benefits of working with DCT is that I can get my pups to pose for photos with abstract art sculptures of dogs :).

If you are looking for top notch, no nonsense dog training, look no further! I'm so glad to have found DCTK9 for my two rescue puppies. Especially with two dogs, I really need pups who listen, who don't pull on the leash, and who come when called. Enola, Tarah, Blake, and everyone at DCTK9 did an amazing job in the 6-week board and train we did for each of them, and it's given us so much more freedom to run around and explore now that I have the confidence they will listen. We love working with them so much that we've also booked group classes and private lessons (to maintain and keep building on skills) as well as weekly train and plays. We also board with them regularly. Everyone is super friendly, clearly loves dogs, and I love that it's family owned. Thank you!

Blake and the DCTK9 team are amazing. Truly masters of their craft. Our boy Bernie is A LOT of dog. We knew that raising a puppy would be a challenge, but we were completely unprepared for Bernie's particular temperament. He is a self-willed wild child, and while this can be endearing at times, it also was a major source of conflict and stress. To Bernie's detriment, I used Reddit and Positive Only training sources to try and train him, and inevitably this couldn't provide the structure and clear communication he needed. In the house, we couldn't sweep, vacuum, leave him unsupervised because he was constantly stealing things, jumping on furniture, and counter surfing. Outside was worse. He was uncontrollable on the leash, highly dog reactive, chewed through several leashes, and constantly redirected on the handler. He was completely unmanageable for us, and we were torn between finding him a new home or investing in a board and train program. We are so happy we found DCTK9. We can play with him for the first time with structure and rules, we can walk him, and live in the house peacefully. our lives have dramatically changed. And we are learning SO much about dog training. The walk is still a work in progress, but DCTK9 is incredibly supportive and remain an active part of his training journey. I can't tell you the relief of dropping him off at DCTK9 for Train and Play or boarding without fear that he'll regress in training or get kicked out (lol). They know him and what he needs, and that is the ultimate comfort. All the staff is so communicative and helpful, Blake, Carla, Nancy, Rob, Lindsey, and the whole team, y'all are the absolute best, and we couldn't do this without you! Deeply grateful and we wholeheartedly recommend them to any frustrated, confused, exhausted, defeated dog owner. There is hope!

Dylan in a down, no barking or moving! Incredible!

He chewed my furniture, jumped on everyone, pulled the leash constantly, and tried to eat everything off the street. Since working with Angela, he's made huge progress in every area. While he's still a puppy and has his moments, he now pulls much less on walks, chews far less, and is generally much more obedient. Angela uses positive reinforcement, and Vesuvius absolutely loves seeing her -- his tail starts wagging the second she arrives. Beyond training, Angela is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and shares valuable advice on health, products, and how to better understand the way dogs see the world. She's always punctual, caring, and checks in on him if he's not feeling well or if any issues come up. It's clear she truly loves what she does and genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. I highly recommend Angela -- she's made life with my pup so much easier and more enjoyable.

I was hesitant about her walking in a group before, but he never walks too many dogs at once, and brings his helper if needed. He sends me plenty of photos, and it's clear that she's having a blast! He really learns their personalities and tells me how she's progressing on her walks and in the group. You can tell that he cares for each individual dog so much! We reached out to Phyllis for help with our very enthusiastic (some might say maniacal!) young puppy, who was not progressing as well as we'd hoped based on our own training methods. We realized we needed help--so Phyllis was our go-to expert. We arranged for a 3-lesson pack of sessions held at our apartment and also outside, each about a week apart. Each time, she brought new insight into our puppy AND into our ways of working with her. She is very attuned to small nuances in human and dog body language and tone of voice that, with practice, can redirect a bad habit without harsh or needless punishment. She is a strong proponent of positive reinforcement, redirecting "naughty" behaviors, and adjusting strategies as needed. And our pup loved and responded beautifully to her! Thanks to Phyllis, our puppy is now listening and learning better, making more progress than she had made with us alone, and is growing into the sweet, smart, and lovely pet we dreamed of.
