I spoke with Chris (the owner) mid summer about an AC installation. Chris was quick to reply and call back initially, we had a great conversation and he gave a rough estimate over the phone and confirmed a day to come start the work. We planned on what I was doing and ordering for my system over the phone. Fast forward a few weeks, the equipment arrives at my home as we agreed (since I am a licensed contractor) I was going to mount head units, get electrical work done and mount the compressor on the pad to help him get the job done in one day when he comes. Chris simply told me he would do all final connections, vacuum and charging the system. I get my part done and continue to call the main company number and leave messages with the receptionist and even calling/texting Chris mobile. I finally get a call back and he promises to come out the Wednesday after labor day, Great! Well that Wednesday comes and goes with zero call or contact. So I go a few more weeks of calling, texting daily and then I eventually get a call back and Chris agrees to another day to come out. Great! Except that day comes and goes. Keep in mind when we first spoke I asked Chris if he will be reliable as I have a newborn and where I live its been hot and we have had a month off 100*+ weather. He assured me he is a local family owned business and he understands how important family and caring for little ones are. So hear I am October first, summer is over. I have an AC system that's a paper weight and zero contact back this final round of trying to get a hold of Chris. Don't get me wrong, I am a contractor myself (not HVAC) and I know things can get busy (especially AC installers in summer). But Chris lack of communication is completely unprofessional and the fact he never followed through at all. He didn't even just tell me he didn't want to work with me. He just disappeared leaving broken promises in his path. Out of curiosity I called them today and asked how far out are they on a new AC install for a home and the receptionist told me 10-14 days. So clearly they are not backed up. I have been nothing but kind to the receptionist and Chris every time I speak to them or leave a voicemail or text. I always try to kill with kindness, but it didn't work with Dray HVAC. Be wary of the reliability of this HVAC outfit. read more

I just realized that I neglected to give Chris a review from his service call in June. I called Dray when my AC fan started making noise in June. Found him on Yelp. Within 15 minutes I had a response. An appointment was set for the next day. Chris called about 30 minutes prior to the appointment and said he was ahead of schedule and If I wish he could arrive in 15 minutes. Not a problem with me as it was hot that day. Chris went right to work and had the problem diagnosed quickly. Fan motor was going out. He let me know what it will cost to replace, checked his truck and had one in inventory. Had it installed in 15 minutes and the AC was off and running. Chris answered every question I had and was a joy to work with. I really appreciated his style: Here is the problem, here is the solution and this is what I suggest you do to maintain in the future. No upselling of maintenance plans etc. From what I understood, Chris had spent 20+ years working with some of the other bigger named companies in the area that I received quotes from. He set out on his own to be able to provide quality work at a reasonable price without feeling like he need to sell something that was not needed. Chris is an honest, hard working guy that just wants to provide good quality service at a fair price. He will be my first call for any and all heating and AC issues I may have.
