I don't get over to Glendale often, so I stopped the other day while I was nearby. Great store, clean, well organized. Plenty of offers for help from the staff. The owner Ken actually stopped and had a conversation with me, asked what I was looking for. They didn't have the exact books, but he then went in the back and opened a box of back issue comics that he hadn't priced yet and let me look through. I found some gems and he priced and bagged them on the spot. Much appreciated. A definite stop anytime you're in Glendale. read more

I'll preface this with I'm not a comic book person but my husband comes here often, even has a box where they help collect his favorite comics. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST! I came in needing help find a gift for my husband. Ken pulled up his history and helped me get me a few a things without making me feel like I should know this stuff. Super helpful and I'm sure my husband will enjoy his gift. Thank you so much!! read more

Excellent comic book store!! Best in Phoenix!! HUGE selection of new and back issue comics. Lots of collectable toys too. Best part is their knowledge and friendly staff. Especially Robert! He remembers what comics you like and always has great suggestions too. read more

Love this place. Right from when you walk in, you know you are in a unique place. There's so much to see for such a moderate sized shop, the people whonwork there are always kind and courteous, and I almost always get what I'm looking for. And if I don't, they let me know if they can order it in, or where I could look for it. If you have to go to a comic book store in Arizona, this is the place! read more

This place is amazing! Great People, Great Selection. Ken is awesome, always friendly and loves to meet & greet with anyone who walks in the door. Also they bag & board ALL of their books for free and have reading copies of all new releases for previewing. I have visited a lot of comic shops but this one feels like home! read more

In town to visit my father on a family trip. Stopped by at this Comic shop. I really wish they had a shop near me in Cleveland like this. Tons to choose from on the walls, and just fantastic customer service. Highly recommended. read more

No matter your religion Marvel, DC, Indy or god forbid 20th Century Fox you will be welcome at Drawn to Comics. The staff manages to be knowledgeable without being condescending. That is important to me because about once a year I break down and relapse into my old comic book addiction. I don't want some young geek (I am an old geek) mocking me because I didn't know the FF/FF disbanded or The Falcon was now Captain America. At first glance you may discount their selection, but they do have lots of stuff in the back, if you don't see it ask! read more

This place is clearly rockin' it with how many amazing reviews they have! Let's add one more. I am from Minnesota and was visiting my friends in Arizona and they brought me into Drawn to Comics one afternoon. First off, "DRAWN To Comics"?! +100 points for the punny name. I am a sucker for puns. Already sold. It's a quaint place that doesn't lack in personality and selection based on their size. It's perfect. They have a great selection of indie comics which is right up my alley. Another +50 points. The owners, their kid, and the rest of their staff is extremely friendly and personable. They leave you alone when you want to be left alone and they are there to help should you need it. Given my friends had only been living in Arizona for around 6 months the establishment already knew their names and greeted them warmly and like old friends. +500 points. Why 500 points for that, you ask?! There is nothing better than feeling like you're a regular somewhere - - it's a special feeling when "everyone knowwwws your naaaaaame". You're a somebody and it warms your heart like a hobo being given leftover scraps from the fancy Italian joint down the street. Now to the event that really won me over: A month or so later, I sent Drawn to Comics a message from Minnesota asking if they would be willing to help me pull off a birthday surprise; I wanted to purchase the first 5 issues of Black Magick (read it, now.) for my friend who had previously brought me there when I visited. The catch is that I was wondering if they would not only allow me to pay via paypal but also have them secretly slip them into her weekly Wednesday pickup order with a note that says "Happy Birthday, Kayla -from Nichole" on it. Without any hesitation they obliged and a week later I got a note from my friend Kayla just gushing over the secret birthday present she found in her weekly haul. I was so ecstatic they helped me pull it off! I scored major bff points. Now, I was expecting them to just slap a post-it on the stack of comics I bought her that said Happy Birthday on it but when she sent me a pic of what she received I was overjoyed. They went above and beyond to craft an awesome little birthday note that just brought the whole experience from a 10 to an 11. Arizona, you are so lucky to have Drawn to Comics; I could only wish to be so lucky as to have such an amazing and independently owned shop that cares that much about their customers. I can't wait to return to Arizona so I can pick up my new issues for the week and thank the staff profusely in person. read more

Drawn To Comics - The custom note Drawn to Comics whipped up for my surprise comic gift. - Comic Books Near Me - Glendale, Arizona

I first met Ken (the owner of the store) when I started working at the Chase Bank across the street. I hadn't read comic books in several years at that point, but it was hard not to feel my interest reviving as I talked to him - he happens to be one of the nicest, most genuine people I've ever met, and he's passionate about comic books. As such, he's got no qualms helping you sort through the stinkers to find something that will appeal to your tastes - it is through Ken that I was able to discover writers and artists who I've continued to enjoy over the years. Drawn to Comics is small, but it makes excellent use of its space - Ken manages to cram in impressive number of cards, figurines, t-shirts, comics, manga, and miscellanea. He's also one of the more attentive staffers I've ever met - he might take some time to get around to you, but he always does. I've never walked out of the store feeling ignored or dissatisfied with the service. A quick note to frugal customers, though - comics don't tend to be cheap, and Drawn to Comics isn't the cheapest alternative out there. All the merchandise in the store is marked at list price, and even though student discounts (and maybe a few others) are offered, you'll probably save more money if you go through Amazon or a similar retailer. That said however, Drawn to Business is about as local as a business gets - it's family owned, unique, and charming. So, sure, I could save a few bucks by going elsewhere, but I'm all about supporting places like this. Pay this place a visit, and I'm sure you'll feel exactly the same way. read more

Start by staying I'm not a big comic book/superhero kind of person. I don't really follow any of that, but my 13 year old brother does. We were at Glendale Glitters and decided to walk in and take a look. Everyone was very friendly even though it was very busy. We walked around trying to look through everything and not knowing how everything worked (series). I asked someone of they could help us. I wish I could remember the name of the guy that helped us because he was very informative and he genuinely wanted to help. He asked my brother what who he liked and talked him about every series that has ever been out and how to find them for next time. I made a deal with my brother if he kept his grades up we would go into the comic bool store so he could pick out whatever he wanted. So far he's kept up with his side of the deal already earning high school credits in middle school! I am glad we walked into that store that day. Their isn't anything better than encouraging young children to read, and this might be the best way to do it while supporting local businesses. Thank you! read more

Been going here since I was (I wanna say) 5 years old! My mom and I came inside their original location over 14 years ago, during middle school I spent a lot of my time here and loved every second of it! They've always had a great staff, especially to this day!!! Ken is the most passionate business owner I've ever meant, and he's been this way since I met him. I can't express how much this location means to me!!!! read more

Been snooping around in more than a few comic book shops lately and have returned to Drawn to Comics for the third time. Selection: -mediocre selection of graphic novels, most are DC comic hero types. For the Vertigo and Image comic fan, you'll leave disappointed. -lots of comics available to peruse some in boxes, some on shelves. I've found that reboots are far more common to find than original series, also disappointing. Organization: -comics are loosely filed alphabetically inside cardboard boxes -well-protected in plastic bag -one or two employees organizing stock, willing to answer trivial questions -"kids" comics near the front, along with a play area Events: -apparently there are HeroClix groups that meet here on Saturday (per website), no other RPG or LCG gaming groups are available to join Perks: -some benefit for paying with cash (I forget if it was a discount or if you were entered into a drawing for something) -10% discount (per their website) for military and students with ID -can order out of stock items to be picked up at a later date Dings: -cheaper to buy on Amazon -only had reboot issues of The Crow -below average selection for graphic novels, heavily weighted towards DC hero series **NOTE: the reason I purchase graphic novels vs. individual comic books is due to the distance I live from all comic stores, not out of personal preference but because it makes financial sense.** read more

Literally the best comic book shop in all of Arizona. Great selection of anything you're looking for and the owners are the most genuine/nice people in the business. One of the best comic shops in Arizona. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you find anything and everything. If they don't have it they'll try to order it. Ken is a wealth of knowledge. Susan is super helpful and loves "Lock and Key". Daniel is all about the customer service. He loves trying to find the best books for all that come through the doors. Jason loves Superman! And is a huge fan of the show Community. Chris is hilarious and loves to help everyone. Gabe is all about Batman! If you're in the area and looking for a great place to hangout and talk about almost anything, this is a great place. They always have great events planned. Everything from book clubs to card games. They have signings and art classes whenever they can. Ken does a great job of gathering local talent for all of they're special events. read more

Five years ago my husband started getting into comics, so we started digging around for comic book stores to go to. Out of all of the places we went to, Drawn to Comics felt like home when we first walked in through the door. It was a warm place right when you walked through the door because of the owner Ken. The first thing that he did was introduce himself, shook our hands, asked us our names, and gave us the run down of the store. To this very day Ken still says hello and shakes our hands, because he believes that customer service is so important. He made me believe that customer service was not dead, and that small businesses are thriving. My hubby's books are always ready and he always goes above and beyond to order anything that is not in the store. If you are looking for a comic book shop, stop by one of the best kept secrets of Downtown Glendale. I'm sure Ken will shake your hand, his wife will ring you up, and you'll leave feeling like you have been taken care of. Great store. Wonderful atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Everyone is so friendly. They talk to you like you're a part of the family. I get really shy sometimes when people try to talk to me, but they don't make me feel too uncomfortable. There is even a place for our two small children to play and choose their own comic books. We've been looking around for a good comic book store since we moved here in 6 months ago. I think my husband and I have definitely found it! read more

I don't shop for comics often, but when I do, I come here. The first time we came in (years ago), the staff there were excellent and informative. We went in curious with the Saturday HeroClix event and walked out with a few figures free of charge after a little explanation on the game as well. I now come in every so often to pick up a few comics. They bag and board every comic they sell, something I never knew was so valuable until another comic shop I visited sold me issues without them. The customer service and bag/boards will be the reason I shop here exclusively. Awesome place all around. read more

I have truly never been to a nicer store. As soon as we walked in, we were instantly greeted and given a layout of the store, which was very helpful. They have few comfy chairs that I was able to sit in and relax, giving my husband plenty of time to browse at his leisure. Each employer, and owners, chatted with us, and gave us some great info. We are visiting from out of town, and would travel back here, just to shop again. This is a store/business done right! read more

Visited the restaurant next door and decided to stop in here on our way out. VERY friendly and way better service than the restaurant we just ate at. They welcomed us like family and made you feel right at home. Nice decor and fun to be in. Everyone we encountered went above and beyond normal service just to make sure we were satisfied. My daughter and I just went in to look but ended up purchasing a few items. They really made it worth the time we spent there. read more

Great knowledgeable staff it's a must stop to for my Wednesdays! If you love comics and collectables shop here!

Number one store in phoenix hands down. Ken is always ready to talk to you about comics, tv, or movies. And the discounts at this place are outstanding - 20% off new releases, .01 variants when you buy 5 or 10 comics on release week, 10% military discount or student discount. Free bag and board. How can anyone beat that! Make mine Drawn To and add it to my box. read more

This place is great! The owner is absolutely the nicest guy around and he makes quite the effort in remembering who you are, what comics or characters you like and your opinion on what is going on in the shop. The fact that it moved into a larger building is is quite exciting since now they can expand even more and Ken can squeeze even more unique and original product in. They regularly attend geek-awesome events like Phoenix Comicon and Arizona Amazing Con in addition to being members of Local First Arizona which supports efforts in helping shoppers understand why shopping locally is so important to our community and how vast the positive effects are. The collectible action figure selection is awesome, posters are prints that can be hard to find elsewhere and the comics themselves always have me discovering something new. I am a customer for life! read more

By far the best comic shop in the Valley. Ken, Susan and the staff have gone out of their way to help me and answer any questions I had. I stumbled upon this place several months ago, and now it's the only comic shop I go to. Friendly staff that really take time to help you. I am new to the comic world, as my young son is developing an interest. They have never made me feel dumb, or act like I'm not a serious customer. Instead they will answer every question and really explain things, even stopping to look up information on new comics coming out my son might be interested in, but are also appropriate for his age. They are very kid friendly and I love that they have a special kids area. My son knows right where to go when we go into the shop. Then owners are almost always around, and I was remembered and welcomed back after only one previous visit. As other have stated, love their discounts and specials! We got a box and initially were only getting one comic a month. That didn't matter, I was still eligible for a box. They have student discounts, military, etc....all listed clearly on the front window. They have stamp cards and special event days. We love going on special event days. Not only do they have something fun going on, they also have special discounts for that day too. Lastly, my son has special needs and the workers and owners always are very good with him. You just feel welcomed here, and are treated as a valued customer whether you buy or not. With staff recommendactions I have been getting into comic books myself, and even my daughter has been getting into age appropriate comics that she loves. They have a really great selection of comics and toys/novelties. Every comic is bagged and boarded for no extra charge. I honestly don't have one negative comment about this store, it exceeds all of my expectations and I will forever be a loyal customer. read more

One of my top priorities in my move to Phoenix was to search around to where I'd like to continue soliciting my weekly comic pull list. My first stop was Drawn To Comics, and it was also my last. I had a hard time imagining that I would find any place that could top my previous comic store, but there is such a well-roundedness to this place that makes it one of my favorite places to frequent weekly. The benefits of having a pull box with Drawn To Comics, was one thing that sold me. I'd list them out, but you should find out for yourself. There are even weekly rewards and raffles just for coming in to pick up your books! The staff though is what makes the place memorable. Despite the rise in popularity, comic books are still a pretty niche passion, and having someone to talk to about them is sometimes hard outside of an environment bred for that type of discussion. Not only are the staff well equipped to have intelligent conversations regarding current stories, but they really seem to learn about you as a repeat customer and are great at making suggestions for books you may not be aware of. They also ask for suggestions from you, the customer, in case they have missed a great experience still on the shelf. It's by no means perfect, but if you are a comic geek looking for a haven, this is about as good as it gets. read more

All the positive reviews about this place are true. I've never seen a comic store put as much effort into the customer experience as Drawn to Comics. Consistently friendly. They try to remember customers by name. Sometimes successfully, sometimes not. But the effort is appreciated. They have local artists on site sometimes. I think it's great to promote the talent in the community. Really nice place in historic Glendale. read more

I was visiting from Texas and I got to tell you I thought I was back home with the hospitality I was shown. What comic shop greets you with a handshake? By far one of my favorite comic book stores. Only criticism is the staff will hardcore ignore you if they're already talking to others. Typically wait about 15 min to be acknowledged. I'm in and out, not a browser so 95% of my time is spent waiting in line and the customers don't care either as they go on and on. However staff is warm and friendly *once you finally* get talked to. Lots of geeky events here throughout the months and overall year. Wide selection, good amount of room. read more
