I love this place a lot, me and my friends come here very Wednesday, the people working here are so sweet, my boyfriend constantly has conversation with them. So many fun things to get, my friends always end up getting a ton of comics. Even though I am not into comics or superhero stuff, they have tons of other items available for purchase! Brought my kids to Surprise Comics for Free Comic Book Day. Their page showed up on my social media. Store is packed with comic books. There are new issues, back issues and expensive collector issues. Along with comics are Funko Pop, Lego mini figures, action figures, clothing, stickers, accessories even handbags. Lots of fandoms were represented. There was even Disney merchandise. Comic shops can be a bit of a boy's club. This shop felt very inclusive. Customer service was positive. There was a lot going on. They had someone stationed at certain points to make sure questions were being answered. Cashier was friendly as well. read more

I was looking for collectible stores in the area and came across this comic shop and I'm glad I did they have a lot of comics , funkos action figures , books and lots more . This place is well organized and the items they have all seem to be in great condition as well as fair prices . Spoke to a couple of associates and they were very knowledgeable and nice as well as happy to answer any questions you may have. Overall a great place if your looking for collectibles of all sorts and I will definitely be coming back here frequently . read more

Yes this place is awesome. No more having to drive 45 minutes over to Glendale for comics. They are right in the neighborhood. They are friendly and knowledgeable and always ready to help or recommend a great new comic. They have artist signings and specials. I got myself a box so I don't miss a single issue of the new Turtles comic. I love making a trip here every weekend with the kids, and it's their favorite part of the week. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Surprise Comics is the best comic shop in the west valley. The selection of modern books is fantastic. Older silver, bronze, and copper age books are limited. Key books are abundant and cover the walls. The place is clean and kid friendly. The husband and wife team that run the store is very friendly and helpful. The selection of toys, clothing, and unique pop culture gifts are abundant. The subscription service is fantastic. This store has unique mini-figures that I don't see at other comic shops. This store brings in local artists and celebrities every now and then for signings and events. This store also has a growing selection of their own store exclusive comic variants. Honestly I can't think of anything negative to say about this place. read more

This is a great comic book shop. The proprietor was extremely friendly and helpful. Not only was this our first experience here, but also this was my 8 year old son's first real dive into learning about and choosing his own comics. The proprietor was open to helping my son with discovering his new hobby; he asked what characters he liked, what movies he's seen and helped judge good choices based on the demographics that the writers gear themselves toward. My son walked away with 9-10 comics, some brand new stories about his favorite hero - Spider-Man, we also bought a storage box to really get his hobby going. Highly recommended. read more

The staff here are super friendly and informative. They have such a large selection of comics and a great wall of graded comics! They just started getting into the trading card game which is still pretty new but I like The fact that they respect their customers and listen to feedback and act on making positive changes. Best comic shop in the valley. They order PLENTY of the weekly comics, you'll find everything you're looking for. They offer a great pre-order service, I know other shops do too, but still a huge plus. The owners are literally AMAZING!! Spent 2 hours talking with them cause I brought my baby in, unbeatable customer service. Now here is the best part. READY????? I love this place. Me an Anime lover loves to go there I get manga and other things. I would like if there were more manga like Jujutsu Kaisen and Ouran high school host club.
