I used this service for over seven years while living in Seattle. This is my long-term (and long…read moreoverdue) review of their service. First, I've always found Ace Auto to be courteous, honest, and clear with communicating the work that my cars needed (a 2013 Camry switching to a 2017 RAV4 Hybrid later). They've always been up-front about what work is critical versus what can be delayed until later. Second, the owners are dedicated to ensuring that cars are repaired and returned in a timely fashion. When COVID hit in 2020, they went in on the weekend to fix my RAV4 all so that I could get my car back on the following Monday as promised (which wasn't actually their fault as a supplier error caused the wrong part to be shipped initially, and the right part only arrived when the shop was about to close on Friday). Third, while the service provided might not be the cheapest, I have NEVER had to take my car back in to get a repair "fixed" because it was done improperly the first time. This was really important to me because my car was my main mode of transportation as a family caregiver. I'm sorry that it took me almost eight years and two different cars to get around to writing this review. On the other hand, I can pretty confidently say that you can rely on Ace Auto to make sure your vehicle stays in great shape over the years. Thanks guys.

They advised me to complete a…read morelist of services totaling $3,832.41, and I trusted them and had the following services done: cabin filter replacement, full oil change, spark plugs & ignition coil replacement, platinum fuel/air induction, automatic remission flush service, differential service (front and rear), transfer case, and brake system flush. I also attached my invoice if you're interested. On 6/1/26 (about a month later), I noticed a burning rubber smell and smoke coming out of the hood of my car, so I brought my car back on 6/3/26. They diagnosed a stage 4-5 oil leak from the valve cover area that was leaking onto the exhaust, and they quoted another $1,606.45 to replace the valve cover with an aftermarket part (URO aka a lower quality part). I asked Grant if this leak could have been missed during the initial inspection, since the leak was serious enough to cause visible smoke and seemed unlikely to develop out of nowhere in such a short distance. He had replied he doesn't have an 8 ball and can't read into the future, and that it was normal wear and tear. During my initial inspection, they knew my car was hitting 10 years and asked me to replace and service all the other stuff totaling almost $4k but not the one part that would leak 1 month later? Sure, you can't predict the future, but how likely is it for a valve cover to completely crack and cause a Stage 4-5 oil leak onto my exhaust after 700 more miles? Another thing that really concerns me: Grant's findings report stated that I had returned for an engine oil leak inspection "approximately 1,200 miles" after the prior service. My actual invoice shows 56,571 miles on 4/30/26, and my odometer read 57,283 miles on 6/3/26, so the difference is 712 miles, not 1,200. Please see attached pictures. I don't know how this discrepancy happened, but it's the kind of easy-to-fact-check detail that makes me question the accuracy of their documentation. It also made me not trust their work so I took my car to BMW Seattle and paid for the valve cover replacement with factory original (OEM) parts instead. At least my money spent came with a peace of mind Why am I writing this? To save you an expensive mistake. I trusted the knowledge of Grant and Logan and approved every service they identified on my initial inspection and paid ~$4k only to have a stage 4-5 oil leak 1 month and 712 miles later (not 1,200 miles per the report). I'd encourage anyone considering this shop to ask detailed questions and consider a second opinion before approving large repair bills.

Given Moss Alley Motor's charming response on my google review to my issue with their decorum, this was the same tone and respect given to me, as soon as walking into their unkept office/wait room. I never asked them to drop everything the day I walked in. I had asked if they'd be able to take time, not immediately, to give me a quote on a part I knew of, simply not the name of said part before committing to having work done. Given their distasteful reply, I'm glad I'm saving money and spending it elsewhere. So should anyone considering these "professionals" to work on their car; no CLASS all ACT. How sad. Good luck! ;) Wanted to charge me for them to walk 25 feet to my car point out the part I needed, being I didn't know the name of said part, but could have easily pointed out the cap and seal I needed within 5 seconds. My car was there all day with nothing fixed. $330 for just diagnostics, which was indeed the quote I was given and something I knew I'd be paying. That's on me but driving away with a car in the same exact condition and several hundreds out is its own unique sinking and foolish feeling. The quotes for the work to fix things were astronomical. I felt like I was being taken and made other calls to other neighborhood mechanics. Every single call was 40% - 50% less and in less time.

For 2 or 3 years, an ominously increasing/changing bearing noise had been a mysterious, significant worry - wheel bearings were a suspect, but Chuck's 2nd opinion concurred with Firestone's: intermediate driveshaft carrier bearing, a part discontinued long ago. This small obscure part was now worth my entire hitherto reliable car, which I wanted to keep on the road. Two other places had balked at this, but Chuck's guys searched and found a replacement bearing. This was a convenient time for other major stuff: front wheel bearings, rear shocks, CV axle (all original), and of course they found a several smaller but important things I'd been neglecting. The whine is gone, the wheels are quieter, handles much better, and I don't have to find another car yet. A big expensive job, but actually less than I was prepared to spend.

But he decided to ignore me, and continue to make coffee, which makes no sense if the doors are locked and you aren't allowing customers in the store why are you making fresh coffee? Another gentleman came to the door and attempted to open it. He was waved off in the same manor. I would understand if he did not know how to fill the propane, but to not talk to me like a human being and then ignore me is so rude and disrespectful I refuse to come back to this store. Getting my propane tanks filled is my only source of heat. And I have spent hundreds if not thousands getting my tanks filled here regularly.
