Of all the winter sports stores this has the most amazing staff. They're kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. As always winter sports gear is expensive but you can trust Salty Peaks isn't going to have any unnecessary mark ups.

Extremely disappointed. We ordered what was presented as a legitimate product, only to receive a…read morepair of DC snow boots in very poor condition. The box was so aggressively over-taped that it ripped apart while opening, and the boots literally fell out. One boot was clearly a display model, visibly dirty, scuffed, and worn, showing obvious signs of being in and out of bindings and tried on countless times. After some digging, it appears this display boot dates back to around 2012, which makes this even more unacceptable. It still had an ink security tag attached, suggesting little to no quality control. When contacting customer service, the interaction was calm but completely unhelpful -the representative was disengaged and dismissive, offering no real solution. We were also told we'd have to send the boots back and wait for them to receive the return before any refund, which meant we couldn't afford to buy replacement boots in the meantime. Charging $140 for mismatched, outdated display boots and backing it up with poor customer support is misleading and unacceptable. This was meant to be a Christmas gift, and instead it turned into frustration and extra stress. I would not recommend this shop. Edit to add: The business responded stating I asked for an "80% discount with free shipping." What I actually asked was whether they would reasonably work with me on price after sending boots that were clearly used, damaged, and later identified as old display boots--without that being disclosed beforehand. A $40 discount on a $140 charge did not reflect the condition or age of the product. I'm adding this clarification so buyers have full context.

Example of binding being put back together wrong and being sold a Burton high back when I specifically went in for Bent Metal.

JJ…read morewas both helpful and patient while explaining the different types of decks, trucks, wheels, etc. It's apparent that he's been part of the skating community for a long time and is well versed when talking through the different options. In the end, we left as very satisfied customers with a newly built longboard, helmet, gloves, and skate tool. My wife is thrilled to learn how to ride. I may return to buy one here as well, as it was a great experience. A few things to know when you come here... The shop is tucked into a business ally. You may or may not be able to find parking nearer to the shop. If not, there is a spot to turn around and come back out onto the street. The shop itself is tucked more towards the back on the right-hand side. They sell longboards. If you're looking for a skateboard, you'll need to look elsewhere. Because it's a smaller shop they don't have as large of an accessories inventory as others might have, but if you're buying and assembling a longboard there, you'll likely receive a discount on accessories. ------ Update: I returned today and purchased another longboard. They were efficient building the board to my liking and patient as I tested a few different boards out. Dalton was there today and helped me out quite a bit. He was both friendly and able to clearly explain things to me. I like that this shop offers variety and carries high quality boarding supplies. P.S. They're expanding their store to include bikes. Sweet!

No idea where to go... at each entrance there are service stations where you may purchase your items or ask questions. I asked where to get my fishing license and the young man cheerfully gave me precise instructions. Once I arrived at customer service I was greeted warmly and in less than 5 minutes I had my license. I chose 1 year but you can choose from a good variety of options up to three years! 5 star experience... While I walked about I was asked by a floor monitor if they could assist me with anything... I asked T question and they responded kindly good people in the store. I got some Iowa beef sticks... they also had good variety of jerky... that meaty juicy type not dried. I asked AI what are the top 5 most popular lures that work best in Utah and the store had all of them. I took them, a great Nike T shirt and my beefsteak at the cashiers near the entrance, paid and bid good day. I'd shop this place again.

(I had several questions) 10 minutes in golf department. Same story. 20 minutes in BBQ and the two guys there seemed more worried about the display looking great than offering help. I've always loved Scheels but I am very disappointed with the current lake of service or lack of. I hope things improve! (I only spent $250)
