I had one of the guys come out last Friday. From Drains by James. He very kind. On time. The only thing he did was find my septic tank cover for me very greatful for and dug it out. And he told me $545.0 Finding out I needed a hydro jetting He said 1,200.$ For the first 2 hours and then 450 every hour after. To hydrojet my pipes. I asked him if the 545.00 I paid yesterday we would account for anything. They said no. I also asked if they would give a discount. Offering $50.00 discount I asked how much the hydro was again and they said $1,200. For 2 hours. And every hour after that would cost me $450. I told them that I would call him back. I called another company to come out. Look at my problem. They suggested I need ed to get hydro jetted. Which I didn't disagree. And he said after the job was completed $295.00. different company completely charged me way less. And didn't give me any b******* line or make me feel like if I didn't make a decision right then and there that I would have nobody to come help me. The guy on the phone kept saying you have like 10 minutes and our day is full. Like he's trying to stress me out or something that if I don't hurry up and book I there will be no more openings for me. Our 3 unit condo, built around 1906, had ongoing problems with sewer main backing up. We chose Drains by James in 2022 to clear the main sewer pipe. We were advised that a more permanent repair would require replacing what is called a house trap that was standard in the early 20th century plumbing. I called this business after the plumbing service we paid a monthly fee for if something was wrong came and said it would be 4000$ , or even 15,000$ because they couldn't get to it because of a trap . I contacted Drains By James yesterday in late afternoon and explained that my washing machine drain was blocked. They said a technician would arrive at my home the next day at 10 AM. Hank promptly arrived at my home at that time. I was very impressed with his courteous, pleasant and friendly manner. I explained my previous efforts to solve the problem as he listened carefully and patiently. He then explained to me what he thought the problem was how he intended to fix it. He then proceeded to send a power snake down the drain to approximately 30 feet or so and successfully solved my problem. The fee of $204 was, I felt, very reasonable and fair. When I had a clogged sink in my kitchen that I could not fix with my tools and over-the-counter drain products I knew I had to call a professional. I had used Drains by James in the past and remembered I had a good experience before so I decided to call them. I was informed before the visit that everyone in the house must wear a mask and be as Covid safe as possible.
