I've replaced water heaters before, and I know what they cost. I even offered to go to Ferguson in Brighton myself, and honestly, I regret not doing that. The quote for a 50-gallon, 5-year warranty water heater was $3,000 -- for something that costs about $1,000 in stores. When I asked for an itemized receipt, they refused. I highly recommend you save your money and time. I came back from a Christmas trip with no heat on the weekend. Since I am mechanically inclined, I figured out what the issue was and knew what part needed to be replaced but it wouldnt have arrived for 3-5 days. I called superservice and when they called me back, I told the dispatcher exactly the part I needed so that if they had it, they could install it that day so we can get heat for my family established immediately. They sent out a technician and the first thing I asked him was if he had the part. He responded that he had no spare parts. Off to a bad start. He then proceeded to do a "diagnostic check" of the system and after all that, told me what I already knew. He then wrote up 3 estimates that he called good, better and best which varied from over $1000 to over $4000 and told me that one of the problems was the wrong exhaust piping was used for our furnace (although it was standard PVC piping for all high efficiency furnaces that was installed by the professional HVAC company when the house was built less than 10 years prior) and added all this BS that I knew was BS because I have some HVAC engineering background. I then had to pay Superservice hundreds of dollars for wasting my time. Since, I got the part that I needed to wait for, installed it, and my furnace has been running just fine. They have a money making scheme that is built upon sending "technicians" to do a diagnostic and maintenance to charge you money and write you outrageous proposals to farm out to their contractors to make even more money. It is a scam. Pls avoid these emergency service providers and go straight to a local HVAC contractor. I challenge Superservice to post this review. read more

Losing your heat in February in New England is a nightmare. Building code in Mass requires sprinkler systems installed (so stupid) which means my condo was a ticking time bomb as the temps plummeted. Add to that my Carrier Heat Pump system is way past life expectancy so I was bracing for a nightmare bill to go along with that. Over charged my father for a backwater valve repair gave him an invoice with no specific breakdown on the job that was done. Had to request for a breakdown invoice Charged him $4k for a 4 hour job that was not done properly as the basement re flooded again. Super Service Saved Us During the Coldest Days of Winter! Super Service is definitely the company to call when you have issues at home. They truly came through for us in the middle of winter, when another company (I won't mention names) left us hanging after our heating system stopped working--and they couldn't figure it out. We were without heat and hot water for four days in freezing temperatures, doing everything we could to prevent our pipes from freezing and causing even more damage. It was a nightmare. My son took the initiative to search online for help and found Super Service. Within just a couple of hours, they were at our house and immediately took charge of the situation. They explored several options to fix the problem, but ultimately, the best solution was to replace the entire unit. A Super Service Today technician came in, in the morning to assess the problem. The technician told me that they were busy and he had no one to come in and do the work that day. HE left, came back 10 minutes later, telling me that he had found a couple guys to do the job. When I agreed to move forward with the job, he told me I needed a down payment and a signature or they couldn't move forward. The down payment was for $2200 and the guys that came in removed the P-trap and sent a camera down the pipe in about an hour and then sat outside for about seven hours waiting for a temporary replacement piece. The replacement was installed, but left loose so all the sewage water started leaking onto the ground. The next day they came with the realization that the issue was further down not at the P-trap that they removed. That job was a lot bigger and was gonna about $25,000 after we a while they went to City Hall to pull permits and they were told they couldn't do the job because they failed to put their name on list to do that kind of work. At that point I went to the city and they gave me a list of the people that could do the job they came. They did the job and they finish super servers job by putting the correct pipe with a clean out and now they are still charging me for a job that they didn't finish. read more

I really cannot comprehend the negative reviews on here, but to each their own I guess. I've hired them a few times, but decided to leave this review on the most recent project. We had a sewer pipe fail going out to the street, nothing acute - just due to the age of the house which is a common problem in Massachusetts. We found the issue because we drained the upstairs tub after giving the kids a bath, and all the drained water came back up through the toilet in our finished basement. They sent a tech out the next day with an auger and pipe cam. At first we tried to auger but that did not work, so we checked out the system with a camera from one of the cleanouts and it turns out a the sewer pipe had collapsed along the run and had a significant amount of root penetration in the front yard. The team got started the next day, sent out a full crew with 5-8 guys. They tore up the basement foundation, dug out the trench (which was on a steep hill and deep enough it required strong shoring in multiple places), replaced the line with PVC, pulled all the permits, backfilled the pipe run and repoured the section of the basement that was ripped up and finished the surface. This took them approximately 2.5 days from initial diagnosis to the time last piece of dirt was put back - this has to be some sort of record time, this was no small project and there were multiple excavation elements to consider & features to dig around. I cannot overstate how impressive the project timeline was. During the project, the crew was EXTREMELY professional and clean. Each day they were here, they cleaned up the site so you could eat ice-cream off the floor. I've never seen a contractor do that in my entire life. They were as thorough as they could've been with the landscaping during the winter time and did a very meticulous job laying down external water inlets and asphalt where necessary. They even had their own dedicated project manager on the office-side I could contact if I had concerns on permitting, timeline, etc. The overall price was in-line with market rates for a project of this size - not overpriced but also not cheap. However I feel as though I received remarkable value through peace of mind, quality, and timing for a critical household utility that required extensive repairs. Long story short, I cannot recommend them enough. If anyone asks me if I know of a good plumbing contractors, I will not hesitate to recommend Super Service Today read more

I called them on a Friday morning to see if I could get service to unclog my shower drain. I spoke to the lady who answered the phone and she informed me that they could only do an "emergency visit" which would be an additional one hundred dollars on top of whatever the service was going to cost. Personally I found that to be a red flag! it was before noon time and I was told that no one was available however, if I pay an extra hundred dollars somebody would be available! That sounded rather shady to me & I told The dispatcher that I was not interested in paying an additional hundred dollars. I thanked her and went on with my day. Roughly an hour later, I received a phone call from the same lady telling me that they now had a technician available to come out this afternoon! I confirmed with her that this was not an "emergency visit" (No $100 additional charge?) She confirm that in fact, it was not a emergency visit. She then took down all of my information and at the very end of the call, she told me that they require a credit card to "hold the spot" again, I found that a little strange but due to the circumstances, I gave her my credit card number. I received a text message confirming my appointment for today 7/19 between 2:30-4:30. I received a phone call a half an hour after the time that I needed to be sure that I was home at 3 o'clock from the same lady. She informed me that they were no longer able to come out today and in fact, they wouldn't be able to come out until Monday at the soonest! i'm not one to complain, but this was crazy and to have a company that says super service same day and I have this happen. Seems crazy. What they should've done is due to circumstances had one of their technicians make an extra service call today to get me done because they had assured me that it would be done today! That's what they should've done! At the very least they should have offered some sort of compensation or discount if I was willing to reschedule my appointment. (after all, they cost me 2.5hrs of pay because I left work early in order to get home for this service call!) as a first time customer, I will never use this company again and if you value your time, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere! read more

We recently moved into our house and noticed our tub was clogged. We called Super Service because it was amongst the three company that showed up on google search. Roy and Tommy were on time, super helpful and friendly. They explained everything really well and explained all our options to fixing the issue. Tub is unclogged and water can finally go down. We called them to fix hot water. The bill was over $500 for $90/30 minutes of diagnostics, he said the wiring was installed incorrectly. Fine, it was working. 10 days later no hot water, and this time the bill was $2000 to replace corroded pipes etc etc. plus a $200 "membership fee" that I don't want. Obviously the first visit missed the proper diagnosis and completely failed to fix the problem. I have called the company 8 times to discuss removing the membership fee and give me a 10% discount on the second visit. Every time they take my number, say the manager will call me back and no one has called me back. It has been 4 weeks of me calling them and being ignored. They should have some integrity and at least discuss this with me. Cannot recommend the quality of their work, nor attention to customer service AT ALL read more

Belated review for work in mid-2022. In the order of good, iffy, and bad... The good: Responded quickly to an "emergency service" water heater replacement, got it done the next day, and the actual work has held up fine so far. The iffy: Charged 50% more than even the upper end of usual prices, to my best knowledge (doing research after the fact). I expect some upcharge for "emergency" work, and I can deal with that, but I'm checking their invoice and the "emergency dispatch fee" they noted down was a tiny fraction of that. The rest is just their normal price. Also, pay for an hour/a diagnosis fee seems to be the norm for plumbers doing an estimate, but they charged nearly $200 for that. They refund it if you take them on for the work, but that's definitely higher than average for the area. The bad: I had some other non-urgent plumbing projects scattered around the house, so I agreed to let them look around for other problems. They then pressured me to urgently do a full repipe of the house for over $20000, or at least a repipe of the (unfinished) basement for almost $10000. I was told the smaller projects could also be done for a few hundred. When I called back I said that I would hold off on the repiping until I looked into it more, but was still interested in the smaller projects. I was told they'd contact me again shortly - I never got that call or any other responses after. (Fortunately?) No other plumber I have worked with since has mentioned any problem that would require repiping, and everyone I've consulted with about that price thought it was an exorbitant overcharge even if I did want it done. read more

Called to fix a leak in the well pump system. They replaced the pressure valve at a cost of $800 and system still leaked. They sent an estimate of $3000 to replace the well system tank due to bladder failure. A second plumber found poor workmanship on the valve repair, found nothing wrong with the tank and stopped the leak by cleaning the line to the pressure relief valve for an additional $400 service call. Upon request, the second plumber also provided a $2000 estimate to replace the tank. High prices, poor service and very poor communication. Raul finally called back, I described the issues and will pay the bill but will not use Super Service again. read more

I used this company a couple of years ago, and was extremely unhappy with their service. I had a drain replaced in my tub, and it broke a couple of day later, and when I called to have it fixed, they told me it was the incorrect drain and I would have to pay again for the correct one. I placed a poor review for them, and they tried to bribe me to remove it. Now I just received my credit card bill more than two years later and they have billed me for non-existent services. I called them to correct it, and they said they would call back and (surprise surprise) 4 days later they haven't. Don't use these guys. They are dishonest. read more

After spending less than a 1/2 hour at my house, I was told it would cost over $800.00 to just flush and clean my sump pumps. This job I have done annually, cost me $150.00 - $250.00 in the past, depending on how extensive the job would be. Instead of telling me on the phone that they don't usually do this type of job and that I should look elsewhere, they sent a crew to my house and now I'm stuck paying $59.00 for doing nothing but showing up to my house for less than 30 minutes!
