Don't be like us and wait until a hundred year storm hits in the middle of a drought and floods your garage. Take care of your drainage projects now. Drainage Pros completed a French drain and sump pump project for us in January 2022. We knew when we bought the house last September that the house didn't have adequate drainage, but we thought we had some more time to figure it out before it would cause an issue. Enter Huge Storm, October 2022. Our garage started to flood because there wasn't adequate drainage and our crawlspace filled up with water. While my husband was outside soaked to the bone (picture Jack on the door with Rose in the middle of the Atlantic, it was sad) trying to finagle a Home Depot plastic drain solution to save our belongings, I called Drainage Pros. Unfortunately I wasn't the only one with this idea and the earliest appointment I could get was for January. Jonathan was assigned as our project manager and did the first assessment of our project. He was super professional and easy to talk with to plan our project. It was easy to get a hold of him throughout the project and ask questions as needed. Our job consisted of installing a French drain around our entire house, and a drain that connected our downspouts. It also involved tunneling under our concrete walkway in the front and replacing some concrete. It also involved installing a surface drain along the front of our garage and connecting that to the system. Based on our site elevation we also had to install a sump pump and discharge line to the street. I'm a civil engineer and I've taken on some home projects, but this was probably one of the biggest ones we've had to do so far. Lots of dirt moving, big holes, concrete work, electrical. They had to take apart part of our back deck to access the back side of the house and they put it back together sufficiently. Our foreman was Javier, and we really enjoyed working with him as well. He was super professional and new what was what. The whole crew worked REALLY hard, and did an excellent job. I was pretty nosy and took pictures the whole way and they were very accommodating to me. We also have animals and kids, and they were accommodating to them as well. They were good about covering holes and ensuring safety when they were off-site. The project was supposed to take three weeks and they got it done in two. I really can't say enough good things about our experience with Drainage Pros. They did a great job. I would absolutely hire them again based on our experience. The owner, Richard, came out and did his own inspection after the project was done. He was a delightful guy to talk to. And lastly I'll note that this crew left our house/yard/property in better shape than they found it. They put rock and sand back where it was supposed to go and even made us a nice walkway with some existing brick we had. Very happy with this project. read more

We recently undertook a significant project to address flooding issues on our property in Noe Valley, San Francisco. The bottom floor suite and garage had been prone to flooding, and it was crucial to resolve these issues before mold could set in or the foundation was compromised. This project was particularly challenging due to our tight property lines, which necessitated manual digging--no machines were allowed except for a portable conveyor system. The team used concrete saws, light-duty electric jackhammers, and a lot of hand tools like wheelbarrows, picks, and shovels. They meticulously cut out concrete, dug out and tunneled under 75 linear feet to install a French Drain system with cleanouts at varying depths, including 5 feet at the shallow end. They also cleaned and painted the concrete footer and foundation, attached a thick plastic water barrier, laid down 4-inch plastic drain pipes, and filled the area with drain stone, all leading to a deep sump pit with a 4200-gallon-per-hour pump that drains to the street. New concrete with rebar was poured over everything, pitched perfectly to the drains. The entire project took 9 days and involved a crew that was exceptional in every way. From Terrie to Tom, Rich (the owner), Alberto (the project manager), Eusebio (Alberto's right-hand man), and the entire team--they were the most respectful, diligent, patient, and flexible crew I've ever worked with. The quality of their work was outstanding, and they took great care in respecting our property while delivering an excellent solution. From a value standpoint, the price, specially for Noe valley, represented the best value proposition. Given the decades of experience doing ONLY this, they are literally the only game in town in my opinion. I highly recommend this team. I remember the days when my yards would be flooded after each rain, when it was more accurate to call it a backswamp rather than a backyard, when geysers would shoot up from the Earth and destroy crops and livestock... Alright, I'm exaggerating. The truth is that my front and back yards had drainage problems and I dreaded having them repaired. I did think about repairing the system myself, did all the research, learned more about drainage than I ever expected to. But I also had Rich from Drainage Pros come out and take a look at it. Rich was very knowledgable; he explained every part of the system and how it would work. He gave a thorough bid that was very clear. Thankfully, he was very patient as well - it took me awhile to realize that it was too big a job for myself. The job entailed laying down surface drains in the front yard, the back yard, a French drain along the side of the house, and all tied into a pipe leading down a hill and out through the curb. Once I gave up on my dreams of laying down French drains, Rich's crew got to work very quickly and worked hard to finish the job ahead of schedule. They had to do a lot of digging and also had to tear out/replace a concrete walkway as well as a flagstone patio. They did a great job replacing the walkway and they put all the dirt back where it came from. I haven't noticed any damage to the property. I tested each surface drain and each downspout, they all work. Rich was amazing during the whole entire process - from quote to post-completion. He was very honest about the work to be done (as in what to do, what not to do, what his limitations would be) and the options that followed. Rich never came off as selling anything. We knew what we needed/wanted, and Rich guided us along. We received multiple quotes for our project, and his was right in the middle. We prefer quality over pure price points (either high or low), and felt most comfortable with Rich's explanation of what he was going to do and why. During the two week project, his team was there every day. Not just a person throughout the day, but the whole team every single day. I have a rental house that floods in the yard and garage every time there was heavy rainfall. I needed a drainage system that would solve that so I looked online and found Drainage Pros. The description of their services seemed just what I needed. I live about an hour's drive from the rental house and could not be there for supervising the work. So I trusted Drainage Pros to just get the job done and that's exactly what they did. We met once on sight, went over the problem, and Rich drew up a plan, and estimate right on the spot. I went again to visit the rental house about halfway through the work and saw how well done and careful they were about working around other pipes and sprinklers. They did exactly what was contracted, plus extra things like power washing the patio when they were cleaning up. Left the sight clean. We had a sump pump that had burned out and needed to be replaced. Terrie was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. She was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and we were able to schedule an appointment very quickly. Alberto came out to do clean the sump pit and replace the pump, and took the old pump for recycling. Everything is working again. And Alberto was also very knowledgeable, recommending how to best keep the debris from entering the sump pit. Love these guys! Highly recommend them for maintenance service! The previous company that we had used made no mention of cleaning the pit or maintenance, which left our sump pit unmanaged for 2 years, resulting in the pump malfunctioning because there was too much debris in the pit. read more

Hire Rich Mariani and his crew, you will be happy with the work and how quickly it progresses. He has been doing this work for a long time. Our house is built on a hillside, we had water coming through foundation walls in the winter. He assessed the situation, made a plan, gave us an estimate, gave us a start date and kept to it. Moved to a new home with drainage problems so I got a bid from DP And others. We had DP to do the work we wanted and have never regretted using them. They were thorough in the way the work was handled, including extra safeguards to pick up trapped water in areas that I'd have never considered. I also had them replace the concrete that had to be removed to install the drainage, with pavers. That work came out especially nice including a rebuild of steps that were not safety compliant. Now the steps are not only safe but a beautiful upgrade from what they were. I'll likely have more work that needs to be done and won't hesitate to use Drainage Pros. read more
