I contracted Norcal Foundation Support in July 2025 for what was supposed to be a two-week, $52,130 foundation stabilization project at my hillside home. What followed was nearly a year of mismanagement, broken commitments, and financial consequences I'm still dealing with. They no-showed on the agreed start date. I called them at 10am to find out why -- they told me they were stuck on another job. No warning, no proactive communication. It only got worse from there. The job stretched into months of sporadic work. Midway through, they told me they needed a subcontractor for core drilling -- something that should have been identified during scoping -- then let months pass without scheduling one. My property sat in a hazardous state the entire time: open holes covered only by wood boards, piles of excavated dirt, debris, and equipment surrounded by caution tape. My homeowner's insurance company conducted a routine inspection, found the condition of my property unacceptable, threatened to drop my policy, and ultimately imposed a $2,000 surcharge. Resolving that took significant time and effort. Faced with no resolution in sight, I was pressured into accepting a reduced scope of work -- specifically, no tiebacks. Tiebacks were explicitly included in my signed contract and shown on the job drawing. Without them, there is no guarantee my home will remain stable on the hillside. I paid $52,130 for a project that does not solve my problem. After agreeing to the reduced plan, it took more months to redraw plans and pull permits, then more weeks to schedule the final visit to seal holes and reconnect drainage. On that scheduled day, they no-showed. Again. When they arrived the next day, they left without finishing. Their excuse: my gardener had told them not to proceed. My gardener -- someone I know well and trust -- told me he said no such thing. Norcal did not just take direction from someone with no authority over my contract. They fabricated an excuse to walk off the job. Working with this company was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had. I signed my contract in August and today on 3/22/26 the work is finally complete. The communication is absolutely horrible, if you get any at all. With repeated attempts to follow up on my project, I kept getting the same answer that they were waiting on permitting, but on two separate occasions, over two separate issues, with two separate time spans, that was incorrect and the delay was a failure to complete the correct paperwork to even submit to the city. This caused months of delays that were unnecessary. They did damage to my electrical, but only would accept responsibility when I pushed back. The work took weeks longer than originally anticipated. All of these things I can understand, but again the terrible communication made the situation so much worse than it needed to be. The technicians who performed the work were very nice and worked their butts off. They walked onto my project totally unprepared for the work involved, even though two representatives were under my house on two separate occasions and could have assessed the work needed. I've never owned a raised foundation home before and was concerned about a crack the inspector had found earlier in the year. Ray came out and did a full inspection of the home, in, around, and under, while explaining what he was doing and happily answering my questions. Thankfully for me, it turned out the crack was nothing to be concerned about and he explained why. He gave me a straightforward run down of how much it would be to fill and the cost-benefit of doing so. He also gave me helpful information on how to better water-seal my basement and said he would keep my information just in case water does actually come through in the winter. Since writing our 1st review, here's the update. The piers are still holding but the 15K plus I spent on their Smart Jack installation under the house was a complete joke and waste of money. Instead of putting a couple beams under the house to even out the piers, they told me at the last minute that we didn't need it. I found out later that they just wanted to finish our job so they could move on to the next. (That wasn't true. I actually NEEDED the beams). All the problems that I had in the middle of the floor still exist with little to no effect after the work performed. On top of that, nobody from the company has ever reached out to try and make it right. If you are impressed with these other fake reviews of happy clients that didn't actually order any work, great. But if you actually want to hear from someone who actually worked with them, you'll hear the same message, PLEASE stay away. read more

This company is really bad. Please stay away. They were slightly less expensive than the other bids we got and we liked the sales guy who came out. He seemed knowledgeable. They told us they could start in 3 months. Almost a year later they started. They would give us a start date and then go radio silent. When we would call to confirm the week before they would screen our calls and then finally when we called from blocked numbers they would answer and tell us they weren't going to be there and give us another date. Rinse and repeat. That happened multiple times. When work did finally start. They told us it would take 3 weeks and it took 3 months. They would show up with two guys who would work 3 hours and then go home for the day. On top of that, the quality of their work was really bad. Our floors are still not level, they left brackets exposed, told us it was their first time pouring concrete (we could tell with how bad it looked), left trash in our crawl space, and ruined our subfloor. Stay away from this company. They may be OK for major expensive jobs but not for my job which was a foundation moisture leak. I contacted them on July 31. Was scheduled for an estimate on August 25 changed to August 28 and told the job would be scheduled for 3 weeks after the estimate. I was pleased with the understanding of the job and the estimate. They went into the crawl space and showed me pictures of a crack in the foundation and explained how they would patch the crack and deal with the source of the leak externally by redoing the concrete next the house and closing the external leak. I told them I was wanting them to do the work (after 3 estimates). I was sent a pdf contract to sign a few days later. I called the contact who had done the estimate to say I couldn't sign the pdf document online or pay the down payment online and was told I would get a contract I could sign and a way to pay the 10% down payment online. After more than 3 weeks no contact. I called the company number and was told I would be contacted. Within minutes I received 2 online links for payment and a contract to sign that did not include the work contract only legal mumbo jumbo get out of jail free. The name on the email was not from the company. I called the contact number and was given a run around that the work order MUST be at the bottom. I said I wanted to schedule the work and would pay and sign when I had a contract that included the work order and a schedule date for the job. I was told they would not give a schedule date until I made the 10% down payment. I said I was told the job would be done in 3 weeks and it was know almost 3 weeks later. The guy wanted me to pay over the phone which I refused. After I got off the phone I got an email saying the project was voided. Reason: it was incorrect. Initially the company was listed in Santa Rosa CA. Later it was listed in Fairfield. The contact that I spoke to was in Arizona with a different business name and the owner of the company lives in another state. This company is a scam. Needs to be reported read more

Sloppy and unprofessional work. Do not use this company. First they routed the sump discharge hose through a vent and left space for animals to come in through. My house already already had a dedicated route for a discharge hose. When I complained about it, they sloppily sealed it as pictured. Before I continue, I want to commend your employees, from Justin and Gonzalo as well as everyone who came out and worked on our home. They are all top notch individuals. We just received a call from Terry regarding the fact that us signing off on the other 16000 is being held up because of the defects in the concrete. Terry was very diplomatic in his discussion with me, although there was a slight "it was your fault" type of attitude which I did not appreciate. The reason I didn't appreciate that is because going back to when your guys cut one of the post tension cables, your company had the audacity to blame us for picking the engineer when we chose the engineer who you recommended. Additionally, as you know, this job, from the time we contracted with you to the time it was finished, was well over 18 months, which, by anyone's standards, is totally unacceptable. Also, your company was nonresponsive to our calls and emails until I mentioned, as an attorney, that I was considering possible litigation. The service has been very unprofessional since the beginning. It was an uphill battle to get them onsite. I was promised the moon the stars and the sky and got nothing near this. First of all, it's not inexpensive. The office kept changing the date. When they finally got out the team was great, but they definitely need more training and better leadership. The issues started immediately, my Sump pump was installed, but no plan was set with me the owner to have them plugged in ands working. Second, the pumps have an alarm. It was going off since Thursday. Called the owner and the owner stated he didn't have anyone that can come over the weekend. The fix was simply to remove the safety alarm that was on the pump, but not resolve the problem. one of the drains for the sump pump was left over concrete slab. After they initially said all drains would be left where easily accessible and w/o major modifications. Cutting slab was not part of the agreement. Very expensive service, they finished by not being able to complete our mutually agreed contract. They have also not addressed any of my concerns. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Very difficult to work with and very unprofessional. A big expense to get such poor performance in return. I wouldn't do business with them again. One more point, they installed a second pump. Which was odd, because they were only addressing maybe 1/3 of what was originally promised and mutually agreed upon on the contract. My husband found NorCal Foundation Support on Yelp and decided to give them a whirl since they offer a free evaluation and we were looking to see if we needed some seismic retrofitting to make our house strong for any potential earthquakes. Darby, the specialist, came on time and evaluated our entire house with some sort of machine. He was there for a solid 2 hours being extremely thorough including all the nooks and crannies. Thankfully he gave us a good report, our house is pretty sturdy and we don't need any additional support. He offered one suggestion about a little dip in a hall way and a rough broad range estimate. He also assured us it was not safety oriented, but more just to keep it getting from worse, and it was a fair amount. Overall, we were extremely impressed with Norcal's professionalism and acumen and suggest you use them. We will for sure head to them first for any reason in the future. read more

Even after you paid a deposit these people will not return calls or emails. Probably the most unprofessional company I've dealt with. First off there's Ray Anderson. Ray apparently takes week long vacations and doesn't set an out of office email reply. You would think if you call the people in the office to ask for help, they would say "Ray's on vacation this week," instead of "He'll call you back right away!" The entire office seemed to not know he was on vacation, which is a huge problem because Ray is the only person who can actually make or edit a quote. Next up is Monica McGinnis. Monica also goes on vacations and doesn't set her email to reply informing people she's out of the office. When you call the office because Monica won't return your calls or emails, they seem not to know she's on vacation and will tell you she'll call you back right away which will not happen. When you finally get Monica on the phone and ask is she got your voicemail, she will admit she doesn't check her voicemail. This is a huge problem because Monica is apparently the only person qualified to add a date to a calendar. You might think I'm one of those customers that calls a lot and has a bunch of concerns... All I was trying to do was set a date for the job after paying my deposit. I had no questions or concerns. After we made a date I got a call the night before that they needed to cancel and my appoint was bumped a few more weeks. Finally a worker shows up about an hour late on the 2nd date and they brought a huge truck that was too wide to get into a driveway (Even though a 20ft shipping container got through there fine) making the job impossible. They said they would come at 7:30am the next day with the much smaller Van to do the job. At 7:50 I get a call from Monica. She says "I think they were supposed to be there at 7:45?" I correct her, and then she apologizes for them running late but they are on their way from Fairfield (20 minutes away.) 1 hour later I try to call Monica but she doesn't pick up and her voicemail box is full. Another half hour passes and I call again, no answer. Another half hour, no answer. Finally I call the office again and they are all in a big meeting. When I comment on Monica's voicemail box being full they actually try to tell me that it must have filled up entirely within the timeframe of the meeting because of course she checks her voicemail. I never hear from Monica or Ray again, because they can't be bothered. The worker arrives alone over 3 hours late and admits that he was told to go to another job first despite my job being weeks behind schedule, and the idea that he was on his way at 7:50 was a complete lie. Monica is a liar. Around the time the worker finally arrives I get a call back from the office. I had asked her earlier to go into the meeting and get me answers, and that I would like to speak to the owner or someone above these other clowns. She was calling to let me know the owner would be calling me in a couple minutes. 4 hours later as the job was getting complete I bring this up to the worker because I never received the call. He said he will bring it up to management and he'll get him to give me a call (worker was some sort of manager apparently.) Guess what? He never called. They just sent the bill for the remaining balance of $6000 with no apologies. read more

This review pertains only to the initial assessment, so I cannot speak to the quality of the work at this point. I called NorCal primarily to address my concerns about moisture/water in the crawl space. I was frankly surprised at how thorough the (free!) assessment was, which included Scott crawling under the house, and overall took close to 2 hours start to finish. I've heard a lot of horror stories about foundation companies catastrophizing and hard-selling maybe unnecessary work, so I was very concerned about that going in to this process, but I found NorCal not be like this at all. I was offered a number of solutions to address my concerns, but didn't feel great pressure to go with any particular option. Rather, the options were laid out for me and I feel much more informed in making a choice going forward.
