Spoke with Joshua who was very helpful in scheduling an emergency service with no pressure to do so whatsoever. He explained the difference in pricing between emergency (came within an hour of my call) or next morning service. Someone came and cleared the clogged drain/sewer as expected. Later discussed the cost of more regular maintenance and Joshua was very honest about the suggested frequency needed. They used a pressure hose to clean away the blockage. The entire job took less than two hours for two plumbers. They charged too much for the job $850 ($750 for cash). We have had a recurring driveway drain problem for a while (it gets clogged with dirt and debris). We had another company look at it and after snaking and hydro-jetting, no luck. Our driveway becomes like a lake when it rains. I got a recommendation to call Drain Kleen, and I called them. They scheduled me, and the techs arrived earlier than expected today. I explained the whole history of the problem to the technician Vinny and he assured me he's been doing this for 20 years so let him see what he can do. He got the snake set up and literally had it clear in 5 minutes. I was shocked. He explained that the reason was that there's a bend in the pipe that the other guy probably couldn't feel. We ran water in that drain for 20 minutes to be sure it was good. I asked a lot of questions too, about ways to prevent the issue in the future. And Vinny and his partner were very helpful and willing to share their knowledge. The bill was $265, a little high, but what you'd expect for NYC. But I was still thankful and tipped the guys. BEWARE!! This guys trying to charged 800.00 for a 15 minute job inconveniencing my tenants over 3 days & as witness by myself & my tenants didn't do what's been billed. Copy of certified letter to owner: I e-mailed & subsequently certified mailed a requested for a detailed break down of hours worked and tasked addressed for the above invoice, these requests have been ignored. The hours billed are in excess of those observed by myself and my tenants. Further statements by your own workman seem to conflict with your apparent billing policy. In order to resolve these issues, see below our observations of you & your employees work & statements. Suggest you review and indicate which ones you dispute. 1. Day 1 a).October 31 2017 I requested service for a clogged tub. I was at the house my tenant in the apartment, & we observed your workman was in the apartment 10 minutes. On what basis do you charge for 3 work hours. b). He told me he couldn't work on the tub because he didn't have right equipment, Is there something unusual about a 2011 installed A.S. tub that precludes working with standard equipment presumably on his van? 2. Day 2 a). November 1, 2017 Your workman was using a hand drill powered auger powered rather than a power auger, is that common practice for you?. b). Both the workman from day 1 & 2 told me as they left I owed nothing because they either did or accomplished nothing. Is your policy to have employees make these statements, and if so on what basis do you change the status of such time to billable? c).In the subsequent phone call you claimed the line couldn't be cleared & the pipe had to be cut out. 3. Day 3 a). November 2 2017 do you dispute you told me your workman had unclogged the drain without cutting the pipe and made a hole in the ceiling below to check for damage. b). My tenant reported they were done in 40 minute I checked the ceiling finding no evidence of a pilot hole. Do you assert your workman made the hole and on what basis do charge for 3 hours work? I subsequently offered to pay for service call which owner ignored if they try collections I'll take them to court & update this evaluation. read more

Miguel and Carlos just left my house and I have to say I was very impressed by their service. Joe on the phone was able to book me an appointment at my apartment in Midtown Manhattan at exactly the time I needed, and Miguel and Carlos showed up promptly, actually beating me to my house from work by a couple of minutes. They spent over an hour snaking my drain to clear out a nasty clog deep in the pipes that had been causing my sink to overflow. They were courteous and answered all of my questions, and even took a look at my faucet, which was spraying, at no extra charge. The best part was they even cleaned up after themselves, which as a born and raised New Yorker I can say I have literally never seen another contractor do. After being afraid I was going to spend over $300 for a plumber to fix the problem, I was more than happy to spend $165 for their service. Horrible company can't drive their vans without almost killing people! This company's van tried to crush my car up against wall on 278. I had to slam on my breaks to prevent it from crushing us in. driver didn't even notice and probably my didn't care if he did. They obviously don't care about the safety of other people so i doubt they care about the safety of your home. read more

I called them at 9:30 am today with an emergency, the guy took my name number and address. Told me it would be 1hr - 1 1/2 hrs for someone to be dispatched to me. that he would call me when someone was on their way... it is 8:32pm and I never received a call. My landlord hired them to fix a stopped up tub. While the work was adequate, it took quite a long time. I cannot give them a higher rating because the plumber told me he'd be returning the following day and he didn't keep his word. I had to call the office only to find out they were coming the following day. Their lack of communication was an inconvenience and expense since I took the day off to accommodate them. The work is fine but if you want your time respected they require a bit of monitoring. read more

I had a nasty gushing backup in the shower of my bathroom, with all sorts of junk coming up the drain and not going back down. I called Drain Kleen at 11pm, he told me he'd be back in a few minutes, and when he called back in 10 minutes he said someone would be there soon. He quoted the price and asked if it was OK, I said yes, and Robert and Daniel were here in 20 minutes. They found the problem almost immediately, cleared the drain, cleaned the shower, and were done. One last thing, I had reported it as a sewer emergency - Robert told me it wasn't sewer, it was a food blockage, so he called the office to get me a better price for that. They knocked the price down by 30% - can't ask for more honest people than that. read more

This place is a great. I called them on a Monday morning within 2 hours they dispatched Mike, a wonderful plumber. Mike quickly assessed the damage, spoke to his dispatcher then left to obtain the supplies. Mike's dispatcher made it very clear that Mike get an invoice from the store for the cost of supplies - which was only $20. Mike came back within 20 minutes and fixed my sink within 30 minutes. So this place is very professional and efficient. I highly recommend it! It cost around $200 for everything - not sure how that compares with others, but I think it was well worth it. We had a true emergency - the sewage discharge pipe in our basement was clogged and backing up into our basement. We called for help and was truly amazed at how quickly they answered the phone and then had a team at our house - we called after 5 pm and they were at our house in 2 hours. They then listened to what we had to say [most unsural experience!] and successfully figured out the problem and how to fix it quickly. Used this place in April 2017, 1st time technician was excellent and honest came in took care of problem using a toilet auger, fast forward 9 months later 2nd time called with same exact problem, same location asked for same honest tech, not available but according to "Joe" we have honest guys of course new techs come explained exactly where it's at, same problem ,1st tech clears in 10 minutes, other helper comes in with heavy duty electrical snake and clears main . I am wondering why they are even coming in with that remind you water was cleared within 5 minutes, my suspicions were correct when I was left the bill double from 1st time in April. After speaking with Joe was told we have $50,000 payroll we couldn't do a job for you in April for $150 " we cant stay in business for that price we didn't do that job", Esther the payment processor informed me my last call was on "April for 150", when confronted with this Joe informed me that they cleared a washing machine line in April..." That's why the price was cheaper" " No Joe you had a tech who cleared the problem not remotely even close to washing machine line in 5 minutes in April and was honest enough to charge for the work he did, your same tech did the same thing in roughly 10 minutes and brought out fancy machinery to double charge and clear a Main Sewer line instead of a clog coming from bathroom, whats worst is used my Auger to do it. DO NOT use these guys. THey came to my house two weeks ago to unclog a serious sewage pipe (overflowed into my main floor). They said they were giving me "new pipe covers" free of charge. they unclogged and left. Two weeks later...there is ANOTHER massive sewage backup in my basement, this time. A different guy shows up with his industrial snake and "fixes" the problem. He tells me the first guys must've dislodged something that got caught up further down the sewage line and clogged the line closer out to the street. Two things- 1) why didn't the first guys snake the pipes ALL the way out to the street to make sure everything was unclogged 2) they first guys DID NOT replace my old pipe covers. They LIED. If you do plan on using this company....STAY within eye sight of the workers, even if they ask you to go check a toilet in the house etc., I would not trust them or use them again, for that matter. read more
