My sister and I stopped in to River Market on Wednesday afternoon, of course during the week the market is not blocked off, businesses are open but no farmers market. We shopped around the different stores- I wanted a Thai Tea but the store was not open yet so we went back after lunch. The store itself was cute, they have loose leaf tea that you can purchase, tea cups/sets, and some treats. The staff was nice, I placed my order at the counter top-Thai Tea with boba, and saw adorable and a lot of different flavored Macarons. I tried the fruity pebbles and my sister got a pistachio macaroon. We loved the macaroons but we were kinda disappointed in our teas-mine tasted kind of strong and more bitter, I like it a little sweet and just figured it would be. I can't remember what drink my sister ordered but she said hers was not sweet either. For all 4 items I paid $22.75, i would probably stop in again-it wasn't horrible but I'll def ask next time about the sweetness.

I enjoyed visiting Dragonfly Tea Zone when at the City Market in downtown Kansas City. They have a variety of selections on their menu - many different types of tea and toppings. I tried their house milk tea with boba, which was pretty good and not too sweet. The employees were friendly and the drinks are made quickly. When the lines are long, employees can take your order with a portable machine to expedite the process. I do wish there were more seating options - Some of the other restaurants have designated seating areas, but Dragonfly Tea Zone does not appear to have seating. The shop itself is spacious with Asian-inspired decorations - plenty of room for lines during busy weekends.

Cute little spot in the middle of City Market! Honestly, I was dying of thirst walking around on a very hot day, so finding this boba place was a godsend. Got a large Iced Coffee Bubble Tea; I liked the amount of sweetness, pretty strong coffee flavor, and chewiness of the tapioca pearls. Only con was that it left a strange little aftertaste/texture in my mouth, but I noticed this less the more I drank. Fast, friendly service. 6/10 would recommend. Is it the best boba I've ever had? Not really. Will it hit the spot on a sweltering day? For sure.

We were in downtown Kansas City and the first time we went here they were closed, but we had an opportunity to come back! The milk tea wasn't my favorite but I really loved the Tiger milk tea!! The interior is soo cute, it's in what I might consider a food hall/farmers market type place! There was all kinds of vegetable and fruit stands and many other things as we came on a Sunday. I'm soo happy we got to explore the downtown it was a nice sunny day too! If you live in the area you should try this place!

This was a cute little smoothie and tea shop! My friend and I stopped in to get a drink and it was cheap and quick. We just needed something refreshing and it hit the spot. They did have a few little macaron cookies in their little display case that looked kind of good, but I wasn't sure how long they'd been sitting there. I wish I had gotten a smoothie instead of the tea.

Hidden gem. It was a great thirst quencher on a super hot summer day. It's perfect for on the go while checking out the local farmer's market.

Amazing! Everyone was so nice and hard working! I ordered the Lavender milk tea and being a Boba tea lover this was way up on the top of my list! Dragonfly Tea Zone also has smoothies and fresh squeezed cherry limeades my sister got the piña colada smoothie and let me try some and it was one of the smoothies ever! The place has a really cute setup and it wasn't that long if a wait!

Went here with my girlfriend on a beautiful day to check out the City Market and also stopped by to get a nice cold beverage. She suggested the Mango Tropic which it sweet and tart with mango and passionfruit. It's like she knows what I like already and I do! Very refreshing and tasty. She had milk bubble tea and hers was good as well. The line can take a while especially on a busy weekend but the drinks are definitely worth it. I can't wait to go back and tried other drinks. If you come here often, you can get some discounts or free drinks with their local program by entering your phone number too.

I feel like the blonde girl on Game Of Thrones, because I know how to make my Dragonfly. Unfortunately, I did not manage to fly in and out of this place. Quite the opposite. This bubble tea from the market downtown was actually good - and the bubbles were some of the best I've had in the Midwest, because they were nice and sweet and just the right amount of squidgy. However, the tea tasted a lot like coffee, which suggests Vietnamese style and is not my favourite for Bubble Tea - I prefer the original Taiwanese style. I was torn between 5 stars, and thought I'd probably give it 4 stars like most of the others in the Midwest. Service was nice although the wait time was long and I was in a hurry. Not because of the employees so much, but because people pushed in front of me, and took forever to decide. An extra employee would have been lovely. However the sweet compliment from the owner means it edges into 5 stars, and I'm looking forward to going back to try more products. Anyway I have to go now, no time to write anymore, I have to dragonfly.

This last time I came in I was super disappointed to see that it was covered in very VERY ugly AI generated advertisements for their energy teas. A lot of the original pretty branding was still there, but the AI stuff really killed it for me. I would have literally walked out but my sister really wanted to come there. Just so you know, this type of advertising will truly kill a lot of people's want to come in and try your drinks. I would highly suggest you keep using your old graphic designer for your next round of seasonal drinks. So many people are too shy to say so, so I'm saying it.

The wife had a matcha which she said was good as well, and is eager to dive further into their menu. They offer lots of seasonal specialties, classics, and a massive amount of fine-tuning so you can get your drink to your liking. You can adjust sweetness from 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% which is a nice touch. They did switch to a kiosk ordering a few years back, so it feels slightly impersonal, but they are efficient with their process. I really like the almond milk tea with pearls when the weather is right for it, and am always open to exploring new options here. They seem very friendly, very efficient, and have brought a much needed concept to the Plaza (and KC in general, tbh). Not quite regulars here, but glad to visit a handful of times each year.

The staff were also friendly and gave me no reason to doubt their skills. My only complaint is that the seating was just shy of being comfortable. My friend said the bench seating was a bit hard, and while the chair I sat in was soft, the arm rests made it a little too narrow for me (I'm plus size and have chronic pain, so finding truly comfortable seating can be a challenge at most places. As a note, anyone larger than a women's 3X probably wouldn't be able to comfortably sit in the chairs at all and would need to sit on the bench).
