Chicken Egg Foo Yung lunch special. Excellent!
Edward S.

Well, it's been 3 years since my review and Dragon Village has been one of our "go to's" for great lunches and/or dinners. Each time we've been here, the food has been served promptly, hot and delicious. Our recent visit, they've now got daily specials. Today it was the chicken egg foo yung. It, again, came quick and looked completely different from the egg foo yung's I've had before. All the others had the soy sauce based, brown gravy. This one was lighter and almost creamy (but it was not cream-based). HOWEVER, it was no less excellent. The actual egg patty was thicker and loaded shredded chicken and vegetables. This, along with the big chucks of tasty chicken and crisp, fresh vegetables on top, made for an incredibly good lunch! And, as always, there was more than I could eat in one sitting - continuing their solid value as I now have lunch for the next day. Speaking of "value," prices are still quite reasonable. Service is above board; friendly and efficient. We will gladly keep coming back for more.

We were on a road trip, just passing through town and stopped here for dinner. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated. The place is in the worn side but was clean. The food was surprisingly good and lots of it.

Veggie fried rice (closest), veggie lo mein (next)

Vegan traveler here and I am pleasantly surprised at this meal. Lots of veggies in the vegetarian dishes. I think this is the best veggie fried rice I've ever had

Chicken Lo Mein! Comes out HOT and Fresh!

We go an average of twice a month but won't go back. Order today was in smaller containers with no mention of change.

Golden Chopsticks II - Beef and chopped veggies, very nicely cooked

I rarely take issue with other people's reviews on Yelp as your opinion is your opinion, but the…read morelone one star review recently needs to go again with an open mind and try it again. At the moment they are putting a new sidewalk out front of the restaurant so it's not presenting itself as it typically would. The awning also had taken a beating, and should be replaced. Once inside we were warmly greeted by the two young ladies working. We were seated quickly offered water and a beverage of our choice as soon as we sat. Menus were dropped along with the waiters. A taster of the wine was requested and happily supplied. The inside is clean, and although spartanly appointed, it's bright and airy and a good size for a smaller town. We ordered lemon chicken, beef with mixed vegetables and chicken chow mein. Far too much food for the two of us, but you have to have some variety don't you. The food came out quickly, piping hot and very generous in the portion side. Having worked in a Chinese place for a couple of years as a teenager I've eaten my fair share of the cuisine and this food was pretty darn good, and very good for a small town, which may have been mentioned in an earlier review. Don't listen to the one star, give it a go, you'll be glad you did. With so few choices in Grand Forks , the good places need to be supported, the restaurant biz is pretty tough these days. We'll certainly return!

We have been occasionally going to GC, and the food was always excellent. However, we just ordered…read morecombo A and C, which we have been in the past. The ginger beef was very spicy! And there was no mention of the hot spices. Also, the shrimp seemed overcooked. And the palace chicken was more like chewing on leather. Other than that, the combos were good. It's disappointing because it seems like they changed the menu since the last time we ordered there, which was a year ago.

I had the LOWEST expectations due to the many horrible reviews it has and the positive ones being friends with the owner. I didn't mind cheap food- I like cheap American Chinese food. BUT this is next level. Garbage. Disgusting. Lower quality than cafeteria food. I arrived at the time they told me to arrive. I then proceeded to wait 35min longer. No problem. I get it. It happens. After paying $18.50 before tip for my single order of orange chicken and fried rice (more expensive than any place in seattle) I went home. Opened the box- and I am honest when I say this, I have NEVER felt so disappointed. I literally felt robbed of my money. The orange chicken is the cheapest of the cheapest quality frozen chicken with the spongiest texture. The glaze on the orange chicken tasted like chemicals. Absolutely zero flavor. Fried rice. ARE YOU JOKING?! For $20 after tip- this is the portion of fried rice you give customers? Absolutely ridiculous. The fried rice was the most horrid thing I have ever eaten. Picture the oldest rice in your fridge. Dry. No flavor. Super greasy. It literally only tasted like oil. And that tiny cup? Not a single vegetable. Just old rice and oil. In what world does fried rice not only come that small, but not a single vegetable? It's SO clear that the owner is being cheap at every level. Heck- the fortune cookies were hard as a rock and tasted like cardboard. I understand that small businesses have to cut some corners here and there. I have owned a few my self. But cutting every corner? AND charging premium prices? This is literal theft. The owner should be ashamed of himself. This meal should cost $4.50 at a truck stop at best. Not $20

The egg drop soup has a flavor that reminded me of Bolo Yeung's famous soup on Chong Li street back home. The sweet and sour pork was very good. It was similar to famed American-Chines Chef Frank Dux's famed dish that I tried once in Los Angeles. I recommend this place. It is OK FOR USA!
