Back again at Mr Sub and they continue to make EXCELLENT sandwiches! This time I ordered the "Philly" - a hot cheesesteak sandwich that anyone who's spent time around its namesake would be curious to the authenticity. Well, Mr Sub did it justice; tender, thinly sliced beef steak, with an oozy, drippy amount of cheese, grilled onions and peppers. Excellence in a (my choice) whole wheat hoagie bun. Prices are comparatively BETTER, and I'll tell you why. This sandwich, plus my wife's and two bags of chips was LESS than the equivalent at the local "Eat Fresh" joint. The eating experience is a tad messy but only because they don't skimp on the ingredients just for the sake of trying to make the sandwich "close flat". Really like the bread. Five Stars for what it is. Mr. Sub is a gem in the small town of Colville. Picked up takeout twice while visiting family, and I'd love to have them nearby. Subs are stellar, and there were plenty of other options with multiple daily specials. The kid's slider was substantial. The chicken pot pie, chicken wild rice soup, potato salad and macaroni salad were fine, though nothing special, but the side salad was very nice. Best restaurant in town! My strike team has been stationed in Colville for 14 days, the owner has been catering to us even on her off days, and coming in before she opens and after she closes. Did I mention that the food is excellent? It was like having a home cooked meal 3 times a day!! She met all of our needs, And was very sweet! It made our day interacting with her and her staff. She even went so far as to buying a box cheerios so that I could cheerios for breakfast. Above and beyond service; 5 stars is too low of a rating. I will be visiting when I can in the off season. Stopped in here after driving for 2 hrs and all of a sudden realizing I was super hungry. This place is a great sub shop! They are a home grown hole in the wall no frills kind of place but thats really what one wants from a good sub place. They were really slammed but still got customers through quickly even with lunch time chaos and were to the point but definitely not unfriendly. I ordered a 6" turkey sub which was exactly what I needed. The sub roll was super huge and wonderfully fresh and soft. I'm use to places killing you with mayo but this was dressed perfectly and had a good ratio of lettuce, tomato etc. The turkey was not fresh shaved or anything but was good and not that super salty stuff that places use sometimes. If your looking for fancy this is not it but if you looking for a hearty sub thats nice and quick this is perfect. They also have fountain drinks, bottled drinks, mac salad, pickles, chips ect.
