Great food across the board. 6 of us went during a ski trip and thoroughly enjoyed. Decent beer selection as well.

We popped into Main Street Diner on a recommendation, and wow -- it was by far one of the best…read morediners we've ever eaten at. They have an incredible Greek-inspired menu, and everything we tried was outstanding. I ordered the Santorini Shawarma Stack featuring a shawarma-spiced lamb burger with sweet pickled onions, the diner's tabouli, Greek yogurt tzatziki, house-made hummus, dill pickles, crisp leaf lettuce, and a sweet & savoury Middle Eastern chutney on a locally baked bun -- paired with the Greek salad. Absolutely phenomenal. My mom had the fish sandwich with a side of buffalo fries, and we also shared the buffalo chicken fries -- everything was really, really good. Huge shoutout to Lawrence, our waiter, and Eryn, our server -- both were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. Eryn never stopped checking on us, kept our waters filled, and had the best smile. Lawrence even made us a hot chocolate with whipped cream, which was hands down the best hot chocolate in town. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and this is one of the best places to stop in while visiting Nelson. Noon to 12:30 is a perfect time to go -- it does get busy during the lunch rush, but it is 100% worth the wait. There are lots of great menu options, and we will definitely be back. One of my favorite spots in Nelson!

At the moment they are putting a new sidewalk out front of the restaurant so it's not presenting itself as it typically would. The awning also had taken a beating, and should be replaced. Once inside we were warmly greeted by the two young ladies working. We were seated quickly offered water and a beverage of our choice as soon as we sat. Menus were dropped along with the waiters. A taster of the wine was requested and happily supplied. The inside is clean, and although spartanly appointed, it's bright and airy and a good size for a smaller town. We ordered lemon chicken, beef with mixed vegetables and chicken chow mein. Far too much food for the two of us, but you have to have some variety don't you. The food came out quickly, piping hot and very generous in the portion side. Having worked in a Chinese place for a couple of years as a teenager I've eaten my fair share of the cuisine and this food was pretty darn good, and very good for a small town, which may have been mentioned in an earlier review. Don't listen to the one star, give it a go, you'll be glad you did. With so few choices in Grand Forks , the good places need to be supported, the restaurant biz is pretty tough these days. We'll certainly return!

And there was no mention of the hot spices. Also, the shrimp seemed overcooked. And the palace chicken was more like chewing on leather. Other than that, the combos were good. It's disappointing because it seems like they changed the menu since the last time we ordered there, which was a year ago.
