I absolutely avoid writing yelp! reviews for restaurants because I'm a server and have been in the industry for over a decade now, but this needs to be heard: I saw the man making sushi pick his nose for a solid 2 minutes and went back to work making sushi without washing his hands. I saw him do this while I was eating the sushi I just ordered. I was tempted to take a picture and show management (I absolutely had the opportunity to do so with how long he was picking his nose), but I decided to never return instead. When I think of Dragon Palace, I will always think of boogers in my food now. NOT a good impression to leave anywhere. I've never been more disgusted during a dining experience in my entire life. I deeply apologize to the other patrons for not saying anything to management and let that man serve sushi made with his booger covered hands... The only nice thing I have to say about Dragon Palace is that it is a very beautiful looking restaurant. But aesthetics aren't what draw people to food. read more

Excellent food and beautiful remodel of the building. We had a bad experience at this location in the past under the old name and management. It was dirty, dark and quite frankly, kind of creepy. Dragon Palace has an interesting pagoda-like exterior and that's what attracted us to stop in for dinner. Inside the front door is an ornate gold-colored arch that you walk through. . .pretty nice. I usually order some individual entrees to share family-style with whoever I'm with but, tonight, my friend and I each ordered a combination plate and we split an appetizer of Fried Shrimp. I wasn't impressed with the fried shrimp. They were pretty small and the batter coating on them was a bit too crunchy and hard. . .it was almost like biting through a taco shell. My combination plate of Egg Foo Young, Chicken Subgum Chow Mein, Sweet & Sour Pork, and Pork Fried Rice certainly was generously sized. . .but the food just wasn't fresh tasting or hot. Also, the pieces of sweet & sour pork were gristly. . .and that's a turn-off. Well, although the food was a disappointment, I have to say that the service was very cheerful and efficient. I do know that combination plates are not the best criteria for judging a Chinese restaurant because most of the common items in combination plates are things that are already prepared earlier and kept warm. . .but still, it should be better than what I got. However, I'll be back another time and order some individual freshly-made entrees to see how good those are. read more

First time we were there, weekend evening, quite a few waiters and tables were available so it was easy to be seated quickly but we were totally forgotten and no one came to take our order for a while. With sincere apologies, we were fine but overall we didn't think they were very professional. For the fancy and nice place like that with dinner price definitely more than other Chinese restaurants, they could be more polite. They are friendly but almost rude. It's not a pub. I had a really nice meal with my family here tonight. Atmosphere was lovely. Wait staff was excellent and warm. I just ate some of the fried rice my daughter ordered, and it was excellent straight out of the fridge. The reason for 4 stars, sushi was okay but not great, and the glassware was noticeably detergent stained. I noticed that they were advertising for a dishwasher, so probably just a bad moment. The food here is amazing. But the service and way management runs the place is absolute shit. Every employee will tell you different things each time you go, it's a horror show. But like I said the food is awesome. Make sure you check your receipts, been charged for multiple things that haven't noticed until I got home. But the food is so damn good. Don't be thrown off by the temple/disco theme, this place is awesome. They recently updated their menu and added a sushi train. The crab stuffed jalapeño poppers were insanely good! I always get the seaweed salad as well as edamame and they are great starters as well. The yellowtail sashimi is always fresh and melts in your mouth. Love all the rolls too. My husband wanted sushi and I don't care for sushi. But I love Chinese so we came here and sat in the bar. Lucy took care of us. She is the best waitress ever. The food is extremly fresh and yummy. For starters I see this place just opened and wanted to see what the inside looked like I visited this place right before they closed down. I stop in on Thursday after work and ate inside the restaurant. It's very bright and clean looking. Feeling impressed about the appearance I was eager to taste the food. Found the prices a bit spendy but figured the food must be very good for the cost of the combination dinners. Portions are smaller then most Chinese restaurants. Ordered #1 & large shrimp. Egg Foo young was pretty good, pork chow mein was good, pork fried rice was bland no real flavor and fried shrimp wasn't too greasy. I love Chinese food so decided to order out this time and this is where they lost my business forever. Called in at 2:51pm to order a to go order same items as above was told they don't start serving combinations until 3pm. I told the lady that's fine I can pick up at 3-3:15 she said you have to wait until 3 to call it in. I was confused and said it's 9 minutes until 3pm you cant.take the order and have it ready after 3pm? She said yes it will be ready at 3:15pm. I ran to Safeway for a few items went to pick food up at 3:15 and was told she lost my phone order and I would have to order again. Now I order the food and was told it wouldn't be ready until 3:45pm. A little upset I said fine and waited in the car. Requested extra red sauce because I know some places will give you 1-2 for a large shrimp. Got order and went home to eat and watch movie. Started making my plate and realized 2 red sauces ugh!! Called restaurant and the lady that took both orders answered. So now I decided to explain my complaint from having to order twice. She told me she was busy and if I was in her shoes I would understand. I said ma'am I understand how it is to be busy and since your a new restaurant maybe I should speak to the manager and let them know maybe they need more people working. Mind you it was only cars and plenty of open tables so I didn't see busy. I then explained my request for red sauce wasn't in the bag. She said she didn't bag the food and it wasn't her fault. I asked her for her name and she asked me why with a attitude I explained so when I speak with the manager I can tell them who I spoke with next thing I know she hung up on me. I called back and requested to speak with the manager. She puts a owner on the phone who said that their a brand new restaurant and their employees haven't graduated yet. We had a wonderful meal here tonight. Our waitress Lucy was fantastic. We sat in the lounge with the most comfortable chairs ever. Lucy had ice water and hot tea on our table within minutes. Our appitizer, pot stickers arrived shortly after. Hot and delicious. I had the seseme beef. I order this frequently, but this had a slight sweetness, which I loved. My girlfriend had beef with asparagus, which was good, but not as good as the seseme beef. I highly recommend this place. Ask for Lucy. read more

I was pretty excited to see this location open, especially since it's close by. Everything was great, beautiful decor, super clean, and great staff. I will say I was a bit disappointed in the quantity of the food we received. For the amount we paid, we received more vegetables in our plates then meat, the portions presented wasn't much and there wasn't much flavor. I had only been to this restaurant many decades ago when it first was built and opened and never returned. It was dark, creepy and the food was terrible. I recently returned for a luncheon with a large group on a Saturday and the experience was a complete turn around. Although our luncheon organizer had made several calls to the restaurant, she was unable to make reservations for our group because the place doesn't accept them. But, they thanked her for the heads up and told her we were welcome. When we arrived, we were told that both the computer and phone systems were down and we were all left standing in the lobby while the staff sorted it all out. I was amazed at how quickly they pulled it all together, got us seated and begin taking orders by hand. We were immediately served ice water and hot tea and our orders were taken. There were sixteen of us so this was no easy feat. The food arrived correctly and hot. I was shocked at how quickly we were served and even without the computer system, our one and only server did an amazing job of keeping everything straight. Our group ordered a mix of sushi and regular Chinese food and everyone was delighted. Very large portions, great prices and delicious food. I am going back and taking my family with me. read more

It was their 4th day open. They haven't had their grand opening yet. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Front desk girls were a little clueless but I think it was because they were new and young. The decor was very nice and everything was clean. Tables were a little close together. The backs of the chairs touched when they were pulled out. The portions were very generous, food was fresh. They use MSG but you can ask them to leave it out (which we did). They had Chinese and sushi. We didn't try the sushi but saw some people order it and it looked good. We had egg flour soup. It was good and had corn in it. We also had kung pao chicken and honey walnut shrimp. The shrimp was our favorite. Not too saucy or sweet. They used fresh veggies throughout and everything was cooked to crisp tender. The fried rice was a little bland (maybe because of no MSG) but it had whole shrimp in it and huge chunks of pork. Overall we had a very good experience and will be back. read more

I'll go back when it's more established. I went on day 2 and it wasnt so good. The tea pot was defective and leaked tea. The waitress didn't know anything and had to keep running back to the kitchen. Watched the kitchen staff eating egg rolls in the kitchen area when leaving. The almond chicken was all celery and no chicken. They automatically added gratuity to our card even though we left a cash tip on a party of two( who had them take away and the almond chicken off the bill and I didn't even eat ). Sushi boat, outdoor appearance is what got us in the door! The decorations on the inside of the restaurant are a site to see! Sensory overload but so unique and fun. Unfortunately the rice on the sushi was well overdone and I'm happy we didn't order the sushi boat. Subgum chicken chop suey was amaze balls and so was the Szechuan shrimp! Will definitely be back! This place is absolutely terrible. they got my order wrong and when I told them about it, they told me I was lying and they charged me for everything that I didn't order for a total of 95 dollars for 2 people to eat dinner!!! And the worst part was how eager the waitress was for her tip. This is only for their carry out. I ordered food to go and they said it would be 15 minutes. I gave them 20 mins and it was not ready, they told me it would be another 5 to 10 minutes. They need to get their times correct. 30 minute ticket times are not acceptable. The food here is generally very good. They just need to work on their service. read more
