Normally I go with 3 or 4 friends to the markham location, alternating with Mandarin which is closer for me. Usually, I really like the food and the variety offered however at the end of October, we visited and the first thing we noticed is that is was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant. We noticed that there were not as many varieties of dishes offered during the lunch seating. We noticed a definite drop in the quality of the food. We actually remarked that the Mandarin has surpassed Dragon Legend in offerings and quality. Perhaps the economy has something to do with the changes in the restaurant. read more

First time dining in a buffet since precovid. Last time I was here there were still restrictions in place and we had to order off a paper menu which was fine and I actually preferred it that way. Nonetheless they brought back the buffet and it was packed af! Then again it's like their usual for a weekend. I didn't have reservations (I tried calling. They said they were fully booked with a wedding and 2 parties but walk ins were accepted) but luckily I got a table right away. For weekend dinner, each person got half a lobster and an abalone. Quality over quantity. Is a good motto to describe Dragon Legend. I've had many friends and family suggest Dragon Legend to me. After being burned in the past by Dragon Legend's sister buffet, Dragon Pearl, I put Dragon Legend on the back burner for a very long time. I came in with low expectations, expecting the dumpster fire that was Dragon Pearl, but how wrong I was! Of course, I think a good judging medium when it comes to buffets, is to compare Dragon Legend to Mandarin. Compared to Mandarin, I feel like Dragon Legend has less options and they even serve their dishes at very small portions in comparison. BUT. The food tastes fresher, way, way fresher than what any Mandarin locations serves. It just tastes like the food hasn't been sitting on the table for longer than 30 minutes max. In all honesty, what really seaed the deal for me was the peking duck, as I'm a sucker for peking duck. And to have it as an all you can option?! I was on cloud nine. I couldn't down more than 6 anyways lol The food was seasoned perfectly, nothing was too sweet or too salty. There honestly wasn't anything I didn't like. Service was just as good and attentive like Mandarin is. I also noticed how many staff members there were on the floor. Not in the dining area, but where the food is. I think they must have some kind of system of how long food sits out and/or if they are running low. I was by the fried station in the back getting egg noodles, as there was a kid scooping mounds and mounds of french fries on his plate. I'm not even joking, there were 4 staff members that came running for the empty fry basket after the kid left. That's service right there. This doesn't impact the restaurant, but since my husband and I came close to closing I didn't get to try their fresh waffles. That might have been my only negative takeaway from Dragon Legend, but of course, that was on me. They stopped making the waffles an hour before closing. I would happily return to Dragon Legend, but would want to try to dine there on a weekend to try their lobster! I got a scallop card for dining there on a weekday, it was pretty alright! My scallop was unfortunately gritty, but trying my husband's, I liked it! On a random Thursday night, plus tax and a pop, it came up to roughly $52. I paid with debit. My parents and I had written an email to the manager, who after two weeks has still yet to respond. I was going to give the restauraunt the benefit of the doubt, but after no response/follow-up, I am forced to write this review. My family and I have been frequenting Dragon Pearl for almost a dozen years and Dragon Legend since it opened about 10 years ago. My parents live in Newcastle, east of Toronto and about 75km from Dragon Legend and Dragon Pearl so we must really like both restaurants to drive that far for a meal. On average we have visited one or the other restaurant at least once a month over the last 10 years. Over most of this time it was 2 adults and 2 kids, but now that I am grown and have a little one of my own it is at least 5 of us. In the past I could have said with complete confidence we have been totally satisfied with the food, service and pricing. My father actually attached here printouts of Visa statements for the last 6 months clearly outlining the repeat visits to at least one of these two restauraunts with the ability to go back further if necessary. These included going with larger parties during Chinese New Year, and during my son's first birthday, those meals totalling over $500 and $700 respectively. I may be wrong but it is my belief that both restaurants have a 2 hour time limit but most times we are done in about an 1.5 hours so have never, ever been told it is time to leave. On one particular night, our reservation was for 5pm but the place was really busy when we arrived at about 4:45pm and probably did not get seated till 5:10pm. We were seated on the left side as you come in. This was the first time we were seated in that area. At about 6:15pm a server ( taller gentleman ) told us we were "on our last call". At this point we were already having dessert and he could have seen this. We figured we were going to leave any time soon anyway so we did not let this bother us but twice he came around and started clearing out our plates and utensils as we were having dessert. At about 6:23pm he came around again and said our time was up. This really irritated me as we had not even been in the restaurant for 90 minutes even counting from 5pm, our reservation time. 5:10pm to 6:15pm (when he initially told us 'last call') was 1 hour and 5 minutes. This was nowhere close to 2 hours, and to tell us at 6:23pm (1 hour 13 minutes) we would no longer get food and our time was up was ridiculous. Usually when we pay we just accept the bill but because the tall server irritated us, I asked to see the bill and I noticed he had charged us for my 15 month old baby. I am not arguing about the $4 amount but the principle. I said he could see the baby was not even 2 years old but he said the charge is for any baby over 1 year. He said if the baby eats from the buffet he gets charged. I pointed out, as a 1-year-old he couldn't even eat the food at the restauraunt and I'd clearly brought a small bowl and prepared baby food THEY DON'T EVEN SERVE at Dragon Legend to feed him. If Baby Gourmet is all of the sudden on the menu at Dragon Legend, then I will graciously apologize. On the way out I asked for the business card or contact of the manager, and twice I was handed a generic business card that only the restauraunt name and phone number. I again asked for the card of the manager and was eventually given it, but after emailing this exact list of events (with the Visa statements), we have been ignored. Suffice to say we will never be eating at either of these establishments again as they clearly do not know how to treat their loyal customers. read more

A good place to have Chinese buffet with friends and family, the restaurant offers halo lobster on Saturday night, and you need to line up to get the roasted duck. There's also sashimi, torched sushi, salad, soup, dim sum, all kinds of food, you name it. Overall the food is delicious, above average for buffet food, especially for some stir fried dishes. I vastly prefer the other newer, more spacious location to this OG one. On arrival for our 5:30pm reservation I was already a little wary since the parking lot was jam packed. We had to park on the street. I think they have this problem a lot since the street signs are actually conducive to parking. As we were shown inside, our huge party walked through the main area of the buffet which is really cramped. There are lines for the high value items like the Peking duck and crab legs. These lines unfortunately block other areas of the buffet so it's just annoying to get around. There is a limit on some items. Each time you line up you can only get 2 pieces of Peking duck and for the salmon sashimi, you get 3 pieces each time. Surprisingly there are no limits on crab legs. You will absolutely see people taking plates of them so grab em while you can. Items were hit or miss. The roast beef was a little dry. The diced beef - very tasty! I'd pass on the cooked fish, some of it was just mush. They had torched sushi which was good but the rice it came on top of was a really dense brick of it (possibly meant to fill you up). Crab legs were a bit salty but they are all you can eat. There are some really tasty items though. They have a noodle bar with fresh noodles in your choice of broth and topped with your choice of meat including duck or bbq pork. This was really good! The Peking duck was also very tasty. Tried their ayce long time ago. Standard food a bit on the pricier side especially dinner. Recently tried their ubereats and did a pick up. Ordered the sweet and sour pork $12.95, mixed veggies with diced beef $12.95 and a six piece chicken pan fried dumpling $5.95. The size is reasonably big portion except the dumpling a tad bit pricey. The sweet and sour pork batter is on the thicker side but the sauce tastes about right. The mixed veggie with beef is very oily like soaked in grease and the beef a bit on the drier side seems overcooked Otherwise it tastes alright. A long awaited return to this restaurant, after Not going there for 3 years because of the pandemic. i should have stayed home with the family and had macaroni and cheese, or a grilled cheese sandwich. last night, on a Wednesday, it was mildly crowded. We had gone the because our Australia grandson was intrigued and wanted to try out crabs. He also love Peking Duck....and was looking forward to the delights Toronto might offer. it was a bitter disappointment for me. I had the following: Snow Crab legs which were small, few on the Buffet, and replenish slowly. They were soaked in water and most legs consisted of 1 segment or 2 at the max. The taste wasvery so, so....and I did not like the being metered by slow replenishment. i sampled the breaded deep fried frog legs. They were somewhat crunchy, very bland. Salt and pepper shrimps and spicy New Zealand Musselswere the next 2 items.The shrimps had no snap, zero crunch and were flaccid and greasy. As to the mussels they were unusually small for New Zealand mussels and the taste was mildly spicy, but nothing beyond that. i tasted what mytable mates were trying out and frankly it was a very poor version of what they were serving 3 years ago. The Peking Duck was offered reluctantly when I asked for 2 pancakes. A small slice of duck was offered....just one, not more. I will hand it to the owners, increase prices and reduce quality, meter out serving and virtually eliminate choice. I cruise by the Sashimi area, and after looking at the hidden offering (only 2 pieces at a time), with a very unappetizing look, I handed back my plate and walked away. i then went to the Roast Beef area and look around. The attendant asked me if I wanted a rib and I took one. It was large, fairly meaty and very tender, but it was greasy enough to lubricate a fleet of cars. Then we got o dessert. With regards to cakes, they offered a few mass produced cakes that all look the same except for their colour and flavour. They were not chosen. Intried an almond cookie....there are better ones at the Dollar Store, a little Sesame Ball was only worth 1/4 of bite...really awful, and fried wonton honeyed twists for for grease. Well maybe the Ice Cream bar would redeem my desert experience, but Nooooo! It was dirty, with insufficient scoops and a limited choice of flavours (6). I chose a small scoop of chocolate ice cream, and it was barely OK. I have never eaten so little at an AYCE restaurant. What the slippage in quality reminded me was of the final months of the much lamented and now closed Buffet King. They went into a death spiral and the food became inedible, after many years of great food. This is the start of the same thing here, and I expect it to get worse. Was looking for an alternative to the Mandrin Restaurant as last time I was at Mandrin it was quite disappointing. IMHO As an AYCE Chinese buffet, Dragon Legend is probably one of the best in TO. Lots of selection especially in the seafood department including fresh oysters, crab legs, lobster claws, blue crab and mussels. Was a nice treat. On any holidays, I'd avoid this place like the plagueeee! It's so freaking busy like holyyyyyy. If you didn't make a reservation ahead of time, you'd be very hard pressed to catch a free table - i noticed many people walking back to their cars as soon as the entered. The food is mediocre - typical Asian buffet quality food. The selections is quite small here: 2 small hot food stations, 1 small grill/carved meats station, 1 noodle soup area, 1 sushi station, and 1 dessert station. The Peking duck here is pretty bad tho! Service was pretty shitty, not sure if it's just cus it's the holiday season. But the waitresses and waiters were pretty rude and didn't refill any of our water. There are bad buffet where the food is bad... the food is just not as good as a good restaurant but that's not what it's selling. Went here on a Sunday night with a group of 8 and it was quite good and decently clean/sanitary For holiday season, it was not at max capacity and plenty of space between tables. They check for vax status at the door and provide each table with multiple disposable plastic gloves so when handling buffet table utensils, you don't touch it with your hands. Although, not everyone used the gloves to touch things, so if you are cautious, make sure at least you wear the gloves whenever you go get food at the buffet. Price is about $50 per person. Service was impeccable and incredibly quick & attentive. Definitely a big improvement since the last time I came (pre-pandemic) The food was delicious! Always start with the peking duck because where else can you get AYCE peking duck! They serve it to you and you can ask for as many as you'd like along with as much duck as you'd like. Also, the sushi station was actually quite good! Tuna (semi-fatty!), Salmon, butter fish sashimi was spot on - all kept super cold and very fresh!! The rolls were also good with salmon aburi (torch pressed) sushi as well. Definitely hit this station up many times. Each person also gets a voucher for half a lobster... it was OK as they overcooked it and it ended up being rubbery and overly sweet. The buffet has a unique Chinese flair to it, lots of schechuan pepper used (the numbing pepper). So if it says spicy... keep this in mind. There's a fresh noodle soup station, highly recommend trying this out. The fish & chicken soup are preferred, the spicy soup was schechuan pepper based... so not spicy but rather numbing. The grilled station had tons of variety including grilled lamb & beef. Big dessert station with lots of cakes & pastries. Ice creams could've been better... the cappucino ice cream was really bad but the standard azn buffet flavours (vanilla, choco, strawberry, green tea, mango) were decent. Overall, good place to satisfy any buffet craving with tons of variety. IMO it's better than Mandarin because of the unique stations, but is definitely less western-style. read more

A group of 8 of us brought our parents and grand-parents over the Father's Day weekend and were disappointed from the get go. We had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes to get seated and were told we had a 90 minute time limit. We knew this was wrong as the policy has always been 2 hours but we were told it was 90 minutes for that weekend. We were also told there would be an upcharge since it was Father's Day! The place was totally packed and it was obvious the staff could not keep up. Dishes were not replenished fast enough and we had to go back repeatedly to see if they refilled the serving trays. When I asked for sashimi I was given 3 pieces of salmon and when I asked for more I was told to come back as there was a limit of 3 pieces per serving. I had no interest in the other sashimi on offer and asked if I could have an additional 3 pieces of salmon instead of 3 pieces of the other sashimi but was told this was not possible. There was a long line for the Peking Duck and we were only handed one piece of duck per wrapping. I asked for a second piece and was denied. I guess the servers were told to stretch the servings that night. We were there for less than an hour and our server told us we were on "last call". In fact he went around to several tables and told them the same thing. If we were able to actually get food we would have forced the issue and stayed around but we decided to leave as we were wasting our time waiting for food that never showed up. I have never been a fan of buffet but at least this is 10x better than Mandarin! Fist off it is very dark and the large screen playing blue jays games while we were there was a bit strange but appreciated because I love the jays. Food is good quality with Peking duck, lobster and fresh noodles. I love that it has some authentic and spicy dishes. The sushi bar was great but I love the hand made noodles in spicy broth with roasted pork. With buffet you feel you have to eat more than you typically do - to derive some value from the $20+ per person cost. Been here a few times. Out of all the buffets in the Greater Toronto Area, this is by far the better ones. You are speaking to a girl who use to indulge in buffet galore! From Zizzlers, Crystal Buffet, China Buffet King (Both Scarborough, Richmond Hill and Mississauga Area) and other ones that have since closed down. So what makes this particular buffet better than it's sister buffet (Dragon Pearl)? For one, the decor and space. It's actually pretty big inside. I sat in a particular area that I did not know even existed until last Thursday. lol The second thing that makes this place wonderful is the sushi/sashimi bar. The fish is pretty good and the rolls are a bit more creative than most buffets. The third thing that makes me come back for more is the "Peking Duck" unlimited. Per the image, I went through a few plates myself. When there's no line, I tend to double down on the duck! Yes, I ask the ladies to pile in a few more pieces of meat on my wrap...because I am a little piggy. And my mom says that I am still growing. lol Lastly, if you go on the weekends... they give you a special ticket for additional specialty items. So on Thursdays they give out Abalone and 2 garlic tiger shrimps! I'm pleasantly surprised with Dragon Legend! I'm usually skeptical with all you can eat but Dragon Legend made me love buffets again! With covid restrictions, their buffet is still available but we had to wear gloves (which they provide) when we get food from the warmer which I appreciate. For $25.99 lunch, I think the price is pretty fair. I was very surprised with the variety of food you can choose from. They serve dim sum, noodles, Chinese dishes, fried food, salad bar ( serves shrimp and mussels). Some things I didn't expect them to serve: sashimi (salmon and white tuna) and also Peking duck. My favourite items were the fried tentacles and the fried garlic shrimp. I would definitely come back for their lunch buffet. Hopefully, they keep up with the variety! Went here for my mom's bday and because of the positive ravings from friends. I was really disappointed because for their specials, you only get 1 redeemable couple per person which defeats the point of ayce. A very popular place but parking can be very chaotic. It is one way and if you are stuck, prepared to be stuck for awhile. I made reservations a month in advance for a group of 9 online. TIP: If you book online, you have the option to subscribe in which you will receive an email for $50 off your table (even for Tuesdays - $5 off). Unfortunately, I did not subscribe while reserving my table and this promo ends sometime soon. The restaurant itself is huge and fully decorated. It has a lot of Chinese ornaments and features which creates an upscale ambiance. The dining area x5 the size of their food area. Their variety was not that impressive and the quality definitely seemed to be lowered to match their discount. Some of their food was decent and they had items that would not be offered at a standard Chinese buffet like their Peking Duck, Har Gow, Siu Mai, robot cut noodles, and Longevity soup. However, they also missed some staple foods that you would find everywhere else. Food stations weren't that clean either... To present such a nice ambiance and upscale vibe, I expected more cleanliness. The one thing that triggered me the most was their lack of incentive to refill their food. Salad/Fruit Station: Skipped completely. Sushi Station: They offered limited pieces of Salmon and Butterfish Sashimi. The pieces were very thick. It wasn't fresh and quite bland. The rolls were quickly and poorly made (as seen on display) and most of the pieces were stuck together. The General Food Stations: Everything else was as expected for Chinese American food- oily, dry and full of MSG. The quality was definitely lowered and not fresh. However, I enjoyed their Longevity soup which had red dates, snow white fungus, winter melon and short ribs. The soup was light and hearty. The only downside is that it's always out. I liked the dim sum but it is obvious that they use only frozen ones. The Noodle Station: They had a robot machine cutting the noodles and quite a hold up for some reason. I was at the front and they had the noodles ready to serve but the lady kept talking with other people despite the line up. Eventually she got tired of waiting for someone she was trying to call and served us... You have the option to add cha siu to the noodles but they all looked very dry so I skipped it. Broth for the "chicken " tasted more like they took the wonton soup but the soup for spicy beef was good. I also heard good reviews about their fish soup but didn't get a chance to try it. The Peking Duck Station: Everyone is limited to 4 pieces per plate and if you don't ask, they give you 2. You get better quality pieces if you choose to get 1-2. The peking duck was very good. The duck was tender and flavorful and you can add the sauce, green onions and cucumber slices to your own liking. Grilled/Fried Food Station: The roast beef looked like it was cooked completely and dry. I did not get it and everyone that did could not finish it because of how dry it was. There was only half so maybe the rare/medium rare side was finished. They did not bring out a new one/ refill on the mash potatos throughout the night that I was there. The fried foods also took several visits to refill (upon asking). Dessert Station - It was disappointing that they did not have green tea. They do however, have a really good black sesame ice cream. Their sugar free cappuccino was also great. Other flavors they had were vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. They also have waffle cones but the cones were hard to separate... the worker who was next to me told me to use my hands to pull the other cone stuck with it... unsanitary much? I did not try their other desserts but they had a small selection of cakes, cookies and pudding. They have big screens with Chinese shows and showed someone eating some sort of bug and I had to turn away. Service was decent. There was a waitress who kept asking how the food was and reminded us when last call was but she kept asking if we needed the machine despite us telling her more than three times that our entire table would pay with cash. I had high hopes for this place since I liked Dragon Pearl (sister restaurant) but I don't think I will be returning. Everything was full of MSG and I was chugging water for the rest of the night. I would not recommend coming here on a Tuesday or even their regular days for $5 more. Buffets are usually for quantity and not quality- I felt that neither was present. read more

Great food with many options and don't forget your lobster card to get your lobster. The atmosphere is wonderful, approx $57 for dinner on a Wednesday night, some may think it's worth it and some may not think so. Up to your judgement, but to treat yourself every once in a while I'd say it's worth it especially if you plan on eating all the meat and seafood that you can during your stay. The ambiance is lovely, I definitely prefer this restaurant over the Mandarin any day. Many people enjoying the food at the buffet here, so many options, the pecking duck is a hit. Busy place our group of five adults went for the lunch buffet on a Tuesday. Got lucky with parking arrived just as someone was leaving. Large dining room with many occupied tables. Recommend making a reservation to guarantee seating. The numbers speak for themselves. Obviously a very popular buffet lunch with plenty of quality Chinese offerings. You pay a bit more for quality and a good selection of food offering. Definitely worth a return visit. read more

Had dinner here on a Saturday evening and this place was packed! If you go on a weekend, they give you a coupon for 1/2 lobster and an abalone. Yum! All the dishes cooked were delicious - favourites were the Peking duck, deep fried octopus, stir fried beef, the cod and charsu. And you can't forgot about the salmon sashimi!!! Even on Monday, Dragon Legend has scores from all over fill it's grandiose spaces with h hungry patrons. The thing with buffets is you try to retain valuable real estate for things like duck breastwoth fresh wraps, steak grilled to order, and if I had some room left, fresh Pho with all the trimmings. What a vast selection of food, from fresh garlic green beans and eggplant, to fan favs like crispy sweet and sour chicken, fried shrimp and a landscape of sashimi and sushi rolls. If you like oysters, grilled fish and salad, it's all there too. Of course, the challenge is keeping the valuable real estate to make up for the $30 per person charged. Often, with the amount of sodium, MSG and fats involved, at most you could only go up twice with a few deserts after. Speaking of deserts, you have to try the Macha items, like the Macha mouse cake and fruit. Josh got to enjoy some ice cream and trust me, there were a fair amount of deserts to rival the vast selection of food. In terms of the venue, it is spectacular. Greeted with a giant drum and a huge bar, the entrance takes you to a Far East paradise. Don't be surprised with the common sinks shared between the men and ladies restrooms. Came here for my nephew's 100 day celebration last Saturday& it was extremely busy. We had a reservation & occupied the entire back room. It was ready for us at the scheduled time. This is a buffet restaurant with lots of choices including Peking duck & a half lobster (one per adult on weekends & requires a ticket). They also have a good assortment of sushi & sashimi. It is a good place to go if you have people who want different things and if you don't mind how busy it is. It's a zoo in there! Not something for me as I prefer higher quality food & being served instead of the feeling of being trampled. read more

I'd been to Dragon Pearl (under the same people) before Toronto's second lockdown, and it was pretty good. Luckily, I got to Dragon Legend before York went into red, and it was awesome. Soups: The wanton soup was pretty tasty. The wantons were pretty bouncy. Hot & sour soup was good. The bamboo shoots were crisp, it had good balance & a lot of ingredients. Stew soup had a good nourishing flavour but the ginseng taste was way too strong. BBQ: Beef & lamb kebabs were pretty good. Noodles with Szechuan beef shank were good too. Grilled pineapple was refreshing & cleared the palate. Rice/Noodles: Bean sprout noodles was a small portion (no carb overload!) and were good: there was a good smoky wok flavour though it was simple (just bean sprouts & green onions). Seafood fried rice was very fragrant: egg, crab roe & a bit of squid. It was a touch under salted. Seafood: Salt & pepper shrimp was fresh tasting. The clams were a big portion but they weren't fresh. The sauce was ok. Squid tentacles were pretty good: not too oily & fresh. The complimentary lobster came with cheese & garlic (Dragon Pearl only had boiled lobster). The garlic was very strong.  Pan fried mandarin fish was good, though it had many small bones. The sauce had a good umami flavour. Char Siew (BBQ pork) was sticky & pretty good - quite moist. It was not that marbled though. Meat: AAA beef was ok. It was a bit wet & a bit mushy. Unfortunately it also had a big portion. General tso's chicken was crispy with a delicate sauce. Sesame chicken was stronger tasting but still not too heavy. The chicken wing was pretty crispy but plain. The Peking Duck had a crispy skin & tasted OK (we could add our own sauce and greens as desired). Salt baked chicken was good. Dim Sum & Sushi/Sashimi: Har gow (shrimp dumplings) were ok. Han sui kok was crispy but had almost no meat sauce inside. It had a nice chewy sweetish dough. Sushi/sashimi are not what you come to this place for but they were still pretty good. Dessert: Honeycomb cake was light & spongy. Bean curd pudding was very smooth with a slight ginger taste. Mango ice cream had a nice initial flavour but a shallow flavour profile. Vanilla & strawberry were decent. Cheese cake was very good - rich & creamy with a base that was moist but still coherent. Matcha cheesecake was OK - just cream on a sponge base. Egg twist was ok - fried dough. Creme brulee was good with a hard burnt top, yet smooth inside. Chocolate cake was very rich & chocolatey but a bit dry. read more

Really disappointed,I ate there 5 years ago and it was good but now I don't know what happened it's different not as much food and no real solid food the sushi was dry and hard. They did have good selection of desert that was about it.next time I'm in town I won't be in a hurry to go there again read more

All I can say is: Wow. Just, Wow. From the decor to the plethora of food choices, Dragon Legend offers a totally sumptuous, slightly bougey, maybe a bit over-the-top, but ultimately satisfying experience. Your senses will be bombarded and overloaded with the variety of experiences. Sight: from fascinating Asian masks on the wall, to the imposing hulls of actual boats, to the fascinating chandeliers. the collections of bronze sculptures (the representation of the entire zodiac is in there. I patted the tiger sculpture, because I am a Tiger and my year is now!) Even the washrooms are glorious, I was even looking with interest at the wall tiles in the stalls, behind the heavy, solid wood door. Like, for real??? The chairs look either like something that Henry the 8th would have sat in, or something from Game of Thrones. In any case, then you go to eat. The buffet ... words really can't describe how this buffet outclasses any other Chinese or ersatz-Chinese buffets where I've dined. If you own a Chinese buffet, pay attention now, because Dragon Legend does one thing totally right that any chinese AYCE buffet can do: Small quantities on the hot tables, but changed up frequently. That's why the food tasted so fresh all the time, and their deep fried coatings never go soggy. Crab, lobster, peking duck, noodles, a fancy noodle making robot - this place offers so much to take in. I loved this opportunity, because i got to try little samples of new foods that I've never tried in restaurants, not wanting to commit to ordering a full serving. Bitter Melon and RIce noodles ... I went back for seconds. As always, the Peking Duck station was in full roll, churning out the bao and the crispy duck with alacrity. Lobster was the special today, and we got a fairly large portion. For us people who are addicted to the western tradition of garlic butter, they even had that, off to the side. If you can manage dessert, I strongly recommend Creme Brulee. Dragon legend has always been a safe go-to for large group birthday dinners. The quality and variety of food for the buffet is beyond what other buffets offer. Granted it costs more, but the food and atmosphere is great. HOWEVER, don't expect that same quality from their takeout. We ordered a combo special from here for father's day and we were extremely disappointed. The menu boasted tons of high quality items and variety but what we got was average tasting, meh quality, and just not enough to justify how much it cost. - Beijing duck: there was SO little meat. The container it came in was only half full. - lobster: pretty much just a single 1.5lb lobster that could grab at T&T for about $10-15 - Scallop: actually a travesty how terrible the scallop was cooked. It tasted like fish paste. The combo also came with creme brulee and 6 bubble teas. The creme brulee was not properly torched, and was pretty much a soggy flan. The bubble tea was so artificial tasting, it's on par if not worse than the $2.50 bubble tea you get from the fmp food court. Stick to their in restaurant experience and don't even bother trying their takeout. read more
